Years ago, this was a practice practiced by people in my neighborhood; we even had a special book for interpreting dreams into lottery numbers.
Dreams are random, no different than throwing a rock at a set of numbers that will be your lucky lottery numbers. It won't change the probability.

People have different mentalities towards gambling, and this is why you will see them running after some vain expectations of it. Gambling is expected to be an entertainment for us, and not that we should see it as another thing entirely to do and make us win by any means because we have financial obligations as a challenge we face.

Most people I have seen who attempted to play the lottery are always after the winning opportunity on it to maximize their chances; they therefore go the extra mile to seek possible means that could aid winning by getting lucky numbers from unreliable sources. In the end, everything turned out to be a disappointment because it doesn't work with the lottery except by luck and coincidence.

I'd say it's just a coincidence, personally I won't even think of such dream the way you did with the numbers, I would probably think that it symbolizes a different thing like incoming danger or reminding the person to be aware of what's happening around them. So, I think this is just a coincidence because the twist in the dream is not even pointing towards gambling but danger and confusion.

It's surprising how these numbers are connected to lottery, because it could be an entirely different occasion aside lottery. But it's a little convincing when these numbers came out in possible lottery numbers, or it could be a normal coincidence. Though risking a few dollars to purchase the lottery ticket would mean nothing so its worth the risk.

Always heard those things about lottery bettors bet on the numbers they dream on. But to be honest with them, those random numbers gotten from their dream is just a brain noise.

Although there's nothing wrong about making it their lucky numbers still it does not give any guarantee of any high winning chances. Because numbers gotten in their dreams does not change the probabilities on the results of lotteries.

But yeah somehow its fun to bet on it and who knows there's huge coincidence happens and they win from those numbers.

I have had similar experience in the past and I don't even place the bet or anything, it was later that I shared my weird dream with a older friend and he said to me that I messed up, he said it might worth it giving a try.

I honestly don't like trying such things because I am not a believer in gambling like that, it was why I thrown the idea away without thinking twice about it.

Maybe when that happens again I will give it a try, I have been reading about such dreams online and I've heard about similar stories in my country where mad men gave people lottery numbers.

There are really things in life that cant really be explained with something just like with this one on which it would really be that coincidence considering that there are really things that would be having the timing on which you had dreamed into something then it comes out with those number combinations then it is just that coincidence but if it turned out to be a repeatitive event then this is something that shows out that there is really that something that give out those signs that you would be able to make use of those dreams and once our curiosity kicks in then it cant really be avoided that we will be thinking on betting into something or having those lotteries or sweepstakes yet this would be the closes thing that you can be able to make use of these combinations.

Cliche as it may sound, but I genuinely believe in lucky / angel numbers, same goes to the superstitious. just like in your case, all the numbers that appeared in your dream seem like they could be a hidden messages or even solely a lucky numbers. I've had a similar experience like yours, for almost two years, the same number kept appearing in my dreams and even in random places and time...Believe it or not, that number eventually came up as a winning lottery number here in my country. when i knew that, I felt like I had missed a huge opportunity, so I kept that number and still use it whenever I have the chance to place a bet, I told to myself that maybe it's not my lucky day yet.

Well, I don't see this as superstition. Superstition is something else... I had to check, and "Superstition is believing that certain actions or objects influence luck or outcomes". Basically, the belief that certain actions or objects can influence luck or the outcome of events. Your story sounds more like a "premonition or a prophetic dream". Those two are completely different things.

You had a dream, and whether it was an incredible coincidence or something else, nobody can say. But I wouldn't put it in the same category as superstition...

To me, it's a pure coincidence. Not a superstition and not a prophetic dream either.

Dreams have a meaning for sure but this particular one has nothing to do with gambling but Op already made his conclusion and tied it to make sense. As you described superstition, it clearly doesn't belong to that category. If it was a prophetic dream, it would have played out exactly. So my conclusion is, it's a random dream but Op attached emotion and that's why everything looks strange to him.

Not a huge amount. If I had matched all four numbers correctly, the payout would have been around 3000x my stake.

3,000x   is a good payout no doubt about it, hehehe.
But at least it’s not an amount that would change your life,  if it were, that would be hard to wrap your head around

If you experience it and win, you might no longer think that dream was a coincidence. So next time, you'll be waiting for a dream like that again and eventually, you'll start believing in superstition. 
There's nothing wrong with that. But still, don't get too confident by making big bets just because you're sure you'll win the lottery. If you try it again and don't get lucky, then it really was just a coincidence.

The numbers you see in your dreams cannot be related to winning the lottery in any way. Because what we dream about, we may think about more than once a day. Your number may be an indication of some other event in your brain, it may be that you have noticed a mobile number, or a number plate, or an apartment number very hard in your day, which has been reflected in your brain in your dreams at night. Moreover, I have not heard of any person winning anything or getting any treasure through a number or event seen in a dream. Moreover, I myself have not seen any connection between the numbers you see in your dreams and winning the lottery, referring to it as a coincidence. Moreover, there is no such case in medical science at present where brain advance can automatically extract any signal in a dream or through any thought.

I’m not really a superstitious person, but I believe stuffs like this do happen. I haven’t just heard about it but I’ve witness it while I was still in school. In my second year in school, my roommate woke up one afternoon and said he had a dream where two teams were playing against each other, he called a very strange name from an unknown league, one I haven’t heard before since I started gambling. He sounded really optimistic about this that it made us look up the team and surprisingly we found the team and they were about to have a game in a day, so we bet on the result he claimed to have seen in his dream, I didn’t stake much though, but to everyone’s surprise, the game played exactly the same way he had dreamt earlier. So was that just another coincidence? Or is it a proof that dreams really reveals the future to people?

People like playing tricks in gambling, and this is where they are always deceived by others who lie to them about what they are being told. Playing the lottery does not come with a mandate to always win upon every attempt you make. Also, we should know that there is nothing like lucky numbers, except that we want to be deceived by others who propagate information in this manner to make money from us.

I won’t call your dream a superstition because it is obviously not but I still believe most dreams still come to pass. At times it might not happen in reality exactly how we saw it or it might just give us a hint of what wants to happen and still sometimes they are just mere dreams of things that will never happen.
In your case, I believe it might have just been a coincident that the numbers rhymed with what you dreamed about or rather the dream was like a hint for you.

I have heard such stories recurrently though it has never happened to me, i have also heard a story where a mad man gave someone a sports booking code and according to him he won the game so i believe this your story at (OP) because we can’t obviously rule out the spiritual realm because their are certain occurrences on earth that scientists can’t explain meaning that their are spiritual beings that control this physical realm so i believe that it is possible to get lottery code in your dream, once you are deep at sleep and spiritually sensitive their are possibilities that you can tap into the invisible realm, i dream at times but i don’t remember everything that happened in the dream when i wake up, who knows i might have been given a lottery code in the dream too in the past but didn’t remember.
