It is obvious that most persons don’t like Messi and because of that the Argentina team keeps on getting so much of criticism, i watched literally almost all the games in the World Cup and cannot phantom when or where FIFA actually favored the Argentina team, the team that was even favored by FIFA when FIFA cancelled a red card because of Trump’s influence isn’t talked about as much as Argentina.

Firstly the allegation going round is that Argentina didn’t play hard teams to get to the final that is not true, infact in modern day football no team is small, most teams have world class players, take Egypt for example is Egypt a small team? A club who has Mohammed Salah a previous nominee for Ballon D’or, Egypt was leading Argentina 2 goals ahead and suddenly went back to defend and that was what gave Argentina the opportunity to attack and defeat them so how can you blame Argentina or FIFA for that or are we talking of the Egypt goal that was cancelled? that was an obvious foul so i don’t know where this favoritism statement is coming from.

Secondly was England that Argentina defeated a small team? A team that had Thomas Tuchel as the coach, Harry Kane and lots of world class players, yet Argentina defeated them clean from behind, scoring world class goals, the match against Spain was a clear sign that there wasn’t any favoritism, in football the best team always wins, Spain was the best team on that day, somehow the Argentine midfield didn’t work that day and it affected their game play coupled with the red card that Enzo Fernandez got, so please i see no reason why we should be attacking the Argentina team, is it easy to be a former defending champion and still perform so well as to getting to the final, i think what Argentina deserves is applause rather than criticism.

I wouldn't really agree with you that most people don't like Messi, in fact he is one of the greatest footballers of all time and I think many fans were grateful for the opportunity to watch his football magic in action once again.
Yes, it is true that today no national team in the world that plays in the World Cup can be said to be weak, but it must be admitted that Argentina had a slightly easier draw to the final, compared to Spain for example.
While Spain had to play Portugal, Belgium and France in the knockout phase, the Argentine team still had an easier path to the final with opponents like Cape Verde, Egypt and Switzerland and only in the semi-finals did they have a stronger team, England.
Considering the opponents, honestly, I expected an easier path for Argentina to the final, but almost every one of their matches was dramatic and uncertain until the end.
Argentina particularly disappointed me in the final, it's incredible that in the first 90 minutes of the game they didn't have a single shot on goal and practically only defended themselves.

The Allegations did not start in one day, it started with years of coincidence in FIFA competitions that favored Messi and Argentina, the 2026 World Cup was just where the allegations took heat and become very public. You said you watch almost all the games and did not see where FIFA or referee favored Argentina? That is definitely a lie.
 In Argentina’s first match, Messi could have got a red card when he tackled an Algerian player but he did not, that just one out of the many times they were favored by refereeing decisions.

This were not the Allegations, I don’t remember anybody calling England a small team after their defeat to Argentina, the allegations after the England match was that the player celebrated with a banner that has political stuffs and that is against FIFA rules, so they were supposed to be investigated and punished but the were not.

I have watched a match that the referee was to end the match in 5mins added time but because one of the teams was on attack he felt like allowing the game till possibly after that attack unfortunately that attack led to a goal and the opponent team became furious and started blaming the referee and saying the match was fixed and the their opponents were favored because it ended 2:2 draw, so let’s not generalize, the fact that Argentina played assumed smaller teams as we put it in quote was not because of any favoritism, let me refer us back to the last champions league that Chelsea won as an example, they didn’t encounter tough opponents until around the quarter finals and finals, this was a mere coincidence that occurred from the balloting, it had nothing to do with favoritism, Argentina playing the country’s they played wasn’t because of any favoritism, let me shock you football is completely unpredictable, those teams you feel are small could have given Spain tough time had it been Spain played them, a teams performance most time is dependent on the strength and game play of their opponents, so please it is not everything that we should see as favoritism.

Yes I completely agree with you. We started hearing these things when we saw Brazil get eliminated from the World Cup and we saw many big teams get eliminated from the World Cup. Although there is no proof of this and I personally think that nothing has happened that has ruined the beauty of football. Argentina was a really strong team and every player performed very well. What I liked most was the good relationship between them. If we look at Argentina, we can see how Argentina built their team around Messi and every player in their team helped Messi.

Actually, if we’re being more objective, Argentina getting an easy opponent in the knockout stage wasn’t because they got special treatment from FIFA that gave them an easy match. It was purely thanks to their hard work in the group stage, managing to finish first. And of course, when Argentina won their group, they automatically faced a team considered weaker because they played against a runner-up team or one of the best third-placed teams.

But Argentina constant facing of weak teams affects the final match. We can see this when they meet teams with similar player quality like Spain, this is very visible in the final match where Argentina couldn't do anything against Spain. Meanwhile, Spain from the group stage to the knockout stage always faced balanced opponents, so their mentality kept getting sharper. This is different from Argentina who always got easy opponents, so their mentality and gameplay didn't develop. But it's also undeniable that FIFA seems to favor Argentina though in my opinion it's not about the draw but during the matches themselves where Argentina is always advantaged, like against Cape Verde, Egypt, and Switzerland.

Argentina isnt the team that has always gotten privileges, rather these are some decisions taken by referees which can be in either side’s favour. If Argentina had been favoured then Enzo wouldn’t have gotten the red card. When barca wins it is rigged but when they lose it is alright. It’s true that spain was a stronger side and I acknowledge it also, they were a great side and completely dominated Argentina in the finals but putting allegations on Argentina that they rigged the games then it is truly unjust.

But I don’t believe for a moment that FIFA gave Argentina any special favours.
Argentina doesn’t need them – they already have so many top players in their squad that it’s a gross oversimplification to think they received preferential treatment.

Pareses got a 10 matches suspension and a $90,000 fine while their assistant coach got a three matches suspension and a fine of $30,000. Almada a 1 match suspension and $30,000 fine and Molina got 7 matches suspension and a whopping $90,000 fine, the same as Paredes.

Gavi also received a punishment, he’s the only individual that received the punishment that is not part of the Argentine squad, he got a 1 match suspension and a $30,000 fine also.

I saw the news today on x.com(Twitter) and I must say the punishments are more than deserved. Argentine displace very unsporting behaviors that were completely ruining the tournament.
What I actually expected to happen was the judgement to have been passed a few hours after the tournament.

It's not weird, it happens as a matter of fact it's a normal thing that happens in football, if you watch football very well,
Even the best clubs in the world plays a full match without any shot on target sometimes,
There are certain conditions that can make that happen emotionally, physically or what so ever, plus Spain as a team has one of the best midfielders and defenders in the full competition, so you should expect difficulties for Argentina to have a chace to land a shot.
As a matter of fact I'm not really sure Argentina was in for that day, I have no idea what their problem was probably emotionally, physically, psychologicaly or maybe tension or pressure, I just know something about them was not aligned well.
