‎Who will win the 2026 Ballon D'or?

Lamine Yamal played 8 matches for Spain in the world cup and scored only 1 goal in total with no assist to give him edge for a likely consideration for the Ballon D'or. Rodri's case is even worst he didn't score he didn't create assist. I don't see the both as favorite for the title in my own judgement. Rodri's Golden ball was a result of his tactical control and his passing accuracy but I don't see this as yastic to collecting the Ballon D'or. The World Cup is only one criteria for winning this title but none of them had their names recorded in the teams effort towards their victory.

I was about to ask OP why Haaland was not on his or her list, but when scrolled down to read other peoples comment i found this perfect list. in all honesty this is a good list and a perfect rating, and would want to see Haaland win this year Ballon D'or. Haaland is great striker and he has scores a lot of goals. Lamine yamal is the second person i am projecting to win this year Ballon D'or if Haaland doesn't win it.

Haaland been in the list is okay but winning is not really possible I mean the season he did great when they won the premier league back to back has  passed and last season they barely play a good football if not in the middle or late of the season they started playing well. Any year with the world cup is always more complicated than other normal years of local leagues and continental games. Sometimes the award is given against the fans expectations like in 2018 when Modric won the Balon d'Or ahead or Christiano Ronaldo who was the fans favourite just because Croatia made it to the world cup finals. Does this mean that if a player had won the league, the champions and some other local trophies but his country couldn't qualify for the world cup, what will you his fate?

I just think that this award should be better based on individual stats instead of using titles and team achievements to give individual awards. If this is done, it will be clearer to understand the grounds for issuing this prestigious award to anyone.

In my opinion, it should be Harry Kane winning the Ballon d'Or, his numbers for both club and country is enough for him to emerge winner.

I don't know why we see this sudden change, during the time of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi it was goals and work rate for the past 16 years but everything changed when Rodri eventually won it.

I still do not think Lamine Yamal has done enough especially with the numbers to win.

People might say I should judge with the eye test, but the eyes rates him but where are the numbers? Nowhere to be found. He needs to score good numbers to emerge impo!

Not ''just because Croatia made it to the finals'' lol. Modric was literally given the Best Player of the World Cup Award. Just like Rodri this time by the way.

But Luka's case was much stronger than Rodri's because he also had a phenomenal season at Real Madrid.

Yeah, the World Cup is one of the criteria for winning the Ballon d’Or, but based on the performance we saw from Lamine Yamal in the World Cup. I don’t see him qualify for the Ballon d’Or. Rodri deserves the Golden Ball award due to his overall performance throughout the tournament. He controlled the midfield, and that is one of the reasons why Barcelona signed him from Manchester City. The player that I think has the best chance of winning the Ballon d’Or is Fabian Ruiz. He won the Champions League, World Cup and Super Cup in the same season.

However, as it stands now, other players have the chance of winning the Ballon d’Or award without winning the World Cup. Harry Kane was the top scorer last season, scoring 14 goals in the World Cup and won trophies with Bayern Munich. At this point, we cannot tell who is winning the Ballon d’Or this year since many players have a chance of winning the award.

I think, amongst all the players listed for the Ballon D'or, Mbappe is the most qualified player to win it because he got himself three golden boots in the three big competitions that he played and that alone is enough for him to be given the award.

The rest players achieved success based on their team performance and not based on personal performance and you know that Ballon D'or is given based on individual performance that year.
