I was about to ask OP why Haaland was not on his or her list, but when scrolled down to read other peoples comment i found this perfect list. in all honesty this is a good list and a perfect rating, and would want to see Haaland win this year Ballon D'or. Haaland is great striker and he has scores a lot of goals. Lamine yamal is the second person i am projecting to win this year Ballon D'or if Haaland doesn't win it.

Haaland been in the list is okay but winning is not really possible I mean the season he did great when they won the premier league back to back has  passed and last season they barely play a good football if not in the middle or late of the season they started playing well. Sometimes the award is given against the fans expectations like in 2018 when Modric won the Balon d'Or ahead or Christiano Ronaldo who was the fans favourite just because Croatia made it to the world cup finals. Does this mean that if a player had won the league, the champions and some other local trophies but his country couldn't qualify for the world cup, what will you his fate?

In my opinion, it should be Harry Kane winning the Ballon d'Or, his numbers for both club and country is enough for him to emerge winner.

I don't know why we see this sudden change, during the time of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi it was goals and work rate for the past 16 years but everything changed when Rodri eventually won it.

I still do not think Lamine Yamal has done enough especially with the numbers to win.

Unfortunately, in Mbappé's case, there's the factor of the club he plays for. Real Madrid is a club that's on its own and is more likely to be in constant conflict with officials than to receive favors from them. Therefore, for Mbappé to win the award, he needs to not only be the best (as his three golden boots loudly proclaim) but also leave no room for ambiguous interpretations. If he had won at least one title with France or Real Madrid this year, I think he would have received the award.
By the way, I see that Fraudicio Scamano has started his stupid PR campaign for Yamal again, but it hasn't affected the odds in any way.

You certainly have a case for putting Harry Kane ahead of the competition to win the Ballon D'or. But the problem is that the official criteria for the Ballon D'or are not based on statistics alone. They also take into account personal impact, team success and the player's good behaviour. So your claim that the criteria have changed after Rodri won may be really absurd. If you judge a player only by the number of goals he scores, his contribution to match control, ball recovery, passing and defending is left out. Rodri first won the best player award for his good performance and also won the Spain World Cup. So considering both of these things, it is understood that he has a strong case in his favor. No criteria have actually changed.

At this point I would definitely put Lamine Yamal ahead because he has won trophies for Barcelona in club football and his team also won the World Cup trophy. Although I expected better from Yamal in the World Cup tournament but his performance was definitely not bad. Now if we consider the overall factors based on personal performance including World Cup performance, club performance and trophies then I would definitely keep Lamine Yamal ahead.
