How do I say this without offending a Ronaldo fan, having the highest Ballon d'Or nomination is not a big achievement, mostly when comparing the nominations to that of Messi, meanwhile Messi didn't just get nominated lesser times but he has won the Ballon d'Or more times than Ronaldo. Meaning, Ronaldo has shared most stage time with him while the award is given to Messi.

I have seen the names of this year nominees, I don't think Messi will be winning another of the Ballon d'Or. Honestly, this season, I think they will really find it difficult to give this award to somebody because at the criteria they use to access before giving this award to somebody,you must be a champions league winner, a world cup winner and your league winner. Now looking at that, PSG players won both their league and some of them were lucky to be in the Spain squad and have won the world cup too., and remember PSG were the champions league winner, so I definitely think someone from PSG will claim that award.

The nominees are already out, and me as an Arsenal fan, I was happy to see three Arsenal players in that conversation, and among those three Arsenal players, I think Saliba is deserving of a global recognition like that, because he as appeared in the FIFA men's team of the season for four consecutive years, and by this achievement, I think he is the best center hal in the world right now.  This is an incredible performance form the France international, who simply knows how to defend, and I'm happy he plays for my club.

Arsenal really tried being in that conversation of the best players in the world, and the credit must all go to Arteta for assembling that group of players, inject them with a winning mentality and pushed them to this height today. Christiano Ronaldo has set the ladder so high for everyone in this game of soccer that his record is almost in all aspects of the game. You go down to goals, appearances, titles, free kicks awards and very many other areas. One thing I don't like is that this award now seems to be very compromised. It is very obvious who the winner of this award could have been but Spain saved the world from another drama. The Balon d'Or list looks good except for the fact that I don't know how Christiano Ronaldo missed the list while Sadio Mane is on the list. Should I believe that Sadio Mane had a better season than Ronaldo, I don't think so. Ronaldo scored 30 goals across 37 games while Mane is barely half this number. The world cup? I can agree with fact that Ballon d'or made mistake not to include Pedri, Raphina and Saka. But why include Cristiano Ronaldo? He only did well in Saudi league but was awful in the FIFA world cup and in his domestic competition. I didn't expect to see Mane on that list, I don't know how he got there, over those 3 players. Saka, Pedri performed well than mane. I would have loved to know what their criteria is for choosing the candidates.  From what I have noticed, of any player wins the Ballon d'or among the 5 candidates I listed, every fan base won't like the winner. If Yamal win,  Madrid/England supporters would find controversial, so as each candidate. This Ballon d'or is tight , anyone amongst the top 5 can win it.

Yeah, even if Ronaldo was not going to win it but his name was supposed to be their, although at first I was thinking it was because of the league he played for but after seeing players from Saudi Arabia league I realized it wasn't because of that. I wasn’t talking about FIFA being corrupt, the point i raised was the fact that for the first time in a long while we have seen a published FIFA ballon D’Or nomination list without seeing Cristiano Ronaldo’s name, it hasn’t happened in a long while, to me the nomination list published by FIFA is completely impartial, almost all the names on the list did well last season, i was not expecting Cristiano Ronaldo’s name amongst the list because he obviously didn’t perform so well last season, so it wasn’t a matter of FIFA being corrupt, FIFA did provide a good nomination list for this year’s ballon d’Or because most players they nominated did exceptionally well and mind you FIFA can’t please every fan at every time, no matter who they pick as the winner for this year’s ballon d’Or some people will still complain, those that will like the ballon d’Or winner will praise FIFA for doing a nice job while those that their favorite player won’t emerge as the winner will condemn FIFA and say that FIFA is corrupt, so it is normal, humans are insatiable.
