At the end of the day, while we may judge these people according to the decisions they've made in the past, let's all not kid ourselves. I am very sure that if we are in the same situation as theirs, we would most likely done the same.
You can not really judge peoples actions especially as it relates to a decision they made at a time that they felt that such decision is the best thing that they could make better. It is only in the future that you can tell that you actually messed up in terms of the decision you have made earlier. to some earlier investors that sold their bitcoin way too early, what it meant to some is just that they were able to exchange their for something substantial at the time, it is in the long run that they have seen bitcoin doing this good that they  will regret on their past action.

Before making a defining investment decision which includes a buy and or sell decision, it should be well thought out and not something you do just because others are doing it. if it is a well thought out decision, whatever happens afterwards should be something you are ready to accept.

But those who have conviction about long term adoption of Bitcoin I don't think they much care about this temporary volatility. So why are you holding Bitcoin? It is important to realize first.
Why do I hold Bitcoin?  It is 100% to make profit. Let's not kid ourselves, profit is the main driving force of every investment, it is what made Bitcoin this successful. Bitcoin is structured in such a way that it will attract more demands: being money, it creates scarcity with its 21M cap total supply and its supply halving. According to the law of supply and demand, this scarcity characteristics increases its demand which in turn increases price. So even if we all say "we're in it because of it's utility alone", a lot of investors are in it for profit.

The purpose to which an investor, buys and hold Bitcoin is to make profit, no investor can invest on any investment without profit target weather long term or should term this objective of making some out of something can not be taken away. Idea of not selling Bitcoin early is basically depends on investor strength and what the target of the investor has been from the time of investment because person who have accumulated Bitcoin and have hit his target can't be advice not to sell early mostly when it's target is melt. The idea or opinion of not selling Bitcoin early is very good and strategic for beginners who have lesser understanding of the market besides who portfolio is very minimal, is not advisable to sell early in such investment because nothing will be made in such smaller investment where the duration have nothing to offered such investor after selling off. In my opinion this advice is two sided reason been that one can't wait all through his life without enjoying the benefits of it's investment, no matter how long an investor wait on not selling there must be a target period.

This is undeniable because, if we look at it holistically, quite a few investors already understand the utility and profit of Bitcoin. Therefore, investors who continue investing because they understand both will certainly never stop investing because their enthusiasm for buying and holding Bitcoin is undoubtedly greater. Supply and demand for Bitcoin in the market has also remained high this year, although there hasn't been a significant increase in the price recently. Therefore, anyone who wants to hold Bitcoin for the long term should clearly understand the difference between utility and the hope for profit.

We all regretted selling at some point. Bitcoin was still new and the price hadn't really settled yet. There was huge potential for it to go up. There's nothing to regret anymore. What's done is done. Nobody is going to regret selling Bitcoin at $60k, unless Bitcoin somehow reaches $50 million or something one day. You might feel bad when Bitcoin goes up afterward, but it's not going to be some insane increase that would change your life.
You’re absolutely right, at some point those of us that sold early, probably because you don’t know what the future of Bitcoin was going to be, everyone would definitely regret that decision, but you have to move on from that regret, and start buying and accumulating bitcoin, you can start accumulating today and keep buying on a regular cycle, there is no point being soaked in regrets when you can start over.

However since I started accumulating Bitcoin again, a good reasonable amount of bitcoin acquired is worth the investment, better now than never.

I quite agree with that, that so many holds for profit. Even if it is to keep the value and avoid devaluation, it's still for the future value, and it's still comes down to stock you kept. And if while keeping it to avoid depletion in value, and it adds so greatly and fetches you some more profits, shouldn't you be happy about it?

Everything ends with the initial mindset of the investor. If he comes into Bitcoin investment with the intention of making little gains, then selling as a little jump in price just like the investor did from this topic will be something to celebrate for him, even though he feels some regret later, seeing how the price of Bitcoin has so much increased significantly. And on the other hand, if he can into Bitcoin for future Holdings, aiming for long term buying and hodliu, then he wouldn't bother of selling no matter the fluctuations. But for me, am of the opinion that we should hold a little bit more and not be in a haste to sell.

People usually join to get big profit, not minor one but they only fail to get big profit they wanted because they don't do their financial management, then risk and investment management well enough. They also did not prepare their knowledge about the market cycle, psychological cycle well enough so they mostly had bad buying and accumulating strategies, building up their portfolios with bad entries. Together with lack of understanding about market psychological cycle, they are very easily panic and have fearful exits from the market with losses.

Investors mostly are be able to hold their positions even the market is bad if they had good preparations as well as proper risk management as well as solid plan for their profit taking strategy with time.

Wall Street cheatsheet: the psychology of market cycles.

I am guilty of that, sold many times in the past for which if I didn't I've got probably a good amount of savings that I can't worry maybe for a couple of months. But yes, we're done and don't have to dwell in it. What we can do right now is to continue the accumulation and look forward from learning with those mistakes or decisions that we've made in the past. At the time when we've sold, we even enjoyed the profit and we only feel that regret right now because we're looking at the price which might still be quite high or at least with a few profits in it. Yet, if the price falls and we've sold above that then, it won't be regretting anymore because we think that we've won.
Exactly!! we can’t bring back time on what happened in the past but at least we learned from it, right? I would say that it’s kinda difficult to move on or recover from what you have lost in the past because of emotions (excitement due to btc value and FOMO), but what really matters is your current decisions when it comes to properly handling of your investments. you should apply everything you have learned to make sure that you don’t make the same decisions again and also to avoid having any regrets in the future... tho, I wouldn’t exactly consider it as a mistake because we simply didn’t know that bitcoin would eventually reach its ATH, so at that time, we considered selling it based on our situations and what we thought was the right decision...
It's not that easy to move and that's why I understand everyone who would say that they are still regretting it at this point. Because we're all have been in that situation when we don't think that it's needed to be held for so long. But the right time has come, the understanding and knowledge has grown that we have now enough evidence and proof where bitcoin is heading in the future. There's no way to correct the past mistakes if we'll stay on that but with the correct actions that we do today, it will be corrected and we'd see the effect of it in the near future.

Always thinking of taking profits as an investor will make you sell when you are supposed to be holding because of just small profit and it's not also all investor that is in for profit some are accumulating bitcoin as a future asset to there children also know bitcoin also serve as a store of value.

Again saying bitcoin is 100% to make profits simply means that we are guarantee to make profits from bitcoin if we can hodl for long well if this what you mean then you are wrong because as i know bitcoin doesn't guarantee us profit even though it's held for a long time.

The future isn't sure we can't predict what will happen in the future and since bitcoin is also a volatile asset it may come down to the price we never expected even after holding for long so let's not be deceive just accumulate with money you can let go if the worst should happen it wouldn't affect you in any way.

There was a tweet from a Twitter user who regretted selling his Bitcoin too early. And perhaps he is one of the Bitcoin OG’s who once traded Bitcoin at a very low price. Greg Schoen is someone who has said that he wishes he still held onto the several thousand Bitcoin he once owned. But he can only lament his mistake for selling them too soon, where at the time he regretted selling his Bitcoin at $0.30. And he regretted it because Bitcoin subsequently rose to $8 per coin. I personally think he still feels regret today considering that Bitcoin now commands a truly fantastic price. And it seems he still can’t let it go given that he was still tweeting about it in 2022 even though he had turned that old tweet into an NFT sale by then.

The halving cycle is still a long way off. And around each halving period Bitcoin offers the potential for profit because Bitcoin is becoming increasingly scarce and even demand for it is increasing across various sectors. Just because Bitcoin’s price has dropped slightly doesn’t mean you should sell it right away. You just need to be patient so you won’t regret it later. If you manage to hold out for a long time then you’ll reap the rewards of your patience all this time. Do you still think you’ll sell your Bitcoin at a low price? And aren’t you convinced that Bitcoin’s price will be very profitable for you? Please share your thoughts as well.

Patience is, and has been, a virtue.  Quick trading can create value or lose value, but buying and not selling has been well rewarded.

You are not wrong if we are being honest to ourselves because most people take the risk of investing in Bitcoin for the potential profit from it, even though they are aware that it doesn't guarantee quick profit. And that potential profit is what attracts attention, adoption and that contributes to Bitcoin's success and we know if people saw no value in it, no one will care to use it. But the structure of Bitcoin is what gives people the mindset to invest for long term.

For me, bitcoin, as I’ve said many times before, looks much more reliable than fiat deposits. And considering everything that is happening in the world, I also see it as much more reliable than many stocks and bonds, because all of them are tied to geopolitics, and geopolitics is extremely turbulent today. It’s also very easy to use. It’s very easy to buy and sell bitcoin for virtually any amount of money, which makes it extremely convenient. I’m really glad that we have such a wonderful asset.

I did some research on some the reasons alot of people sold out there portfolio and I wouldn't blame them,  if I had mined or  experimented at that time, I would have sold too, it's easy to judge them now because of the limited knowledge they had but at one point in 2011 I think towards June ending, there was an incident that caused wide panic where an hacker dumped a large volume of BTC which dropped the price of BTC tremendously, imagine seeing $19 price to a whooping $0.01 within minutes. That type of trend will definitely cause panic. Aside from that, there are many reasons alot of people sold but still there lose.

I’ve seen many people who regretted their decision in the past, selling their bitcoin early one because the market was going down. Sometimes, I don’t blame some people who sold their bitcoin holdings early. If you look at the world we are in today, it is very different. I believe that some people who are still holding today never imagined that the price would rise to this level today. They just had to give it a try and take the risks. Compared to now, people have believed that its future will be better than now after it has proven its worth to the doubters.

All this tweeting isn’t going to solve anything or bring back the mistakes of the past. At least, he still has the chance to make things right. Although some people may find it challenging to buy because of the price, we believe that in the next 10 years, some people will still wish they had bought more when they had the chance in 2026.

Bitcoin doesn't guarantee profits even in the long term either and not just in the short term. People are attracted to Bitcoin for different perspectives, most people are attracted to Bitcoin because it is a store of value, for investment as it value can increase over time, Bitcoin is limited in suply that is 21 million, many more but just few to mention, all of this can be considered as profit in my own point of view and which has also influence the adoption rate and has contributed to Bitcoin success.

From what happened in the past I think it's not only him who regrets ever selling his bitcoins, many forum People Also I think almost all of them have that experience, so this is not a strange story and everything is based on each other's awareness, I think only Satoshi is not sorry because he didn't sell it until now. lol

Yes what happened should be a lesson, and of course the past is different from now, we also have to look at the situation, if we today need urgent money because of a bad situation, and one way is to sell your bitcoin, it does not matter, because you have money is to solve your life's problems, I do not really like the extreme conditions imposed by someone, but if the conditions are still quite calm and you do not have any problems with this world, holding the bitcoin you have collected is a smart choice, and you're already on the right path, it's better than saving in fiat.

Regret would mostly come with selling too cheaply or when the target is not met, if someone has held long enough to sell some portions i don't think there would be regret if the coin sold is used for a good or important purpose moreover the person would still continue accumulating despite selling some portions.

However, if the reason for taking profit if for a purpose whereby lose is incurred then there would be reason for regrets when Bitcoin reaches a better figure than the point of sell.

We don't have info of future and that is why we have to make decisions by keeping in mind our present situation. When Bitcoin was in its initial stages not many took it serious, some sell it for few bucks profit while other abandon it completely. We can't revert whats done in the past. What we can do right now is to take advantage of the opportunity at our disposal, which is to buy Bitcoin right not for coming years. Bitcoin right now is around 65k and we are not sure how high it will go from here. Keeping in view the past price chart of Bitcoin, we must HODL our Bitcoins for coming years so that we won't regret in coming years.

Most of the early investors who used their bitcoins to buy something or sold that are now regret their actions but they can do anything again and all what they can do now is to invest again now that the market is down and not to regret or blame ga
E for whoever told them to sell or not. What about Laszlo Hanyecz who bought pizza with large amount of bitcoin. And they can't recover there bitcoin again so it is good to move on and acquire bitcoin againfoe long term.

I also believe some people still invest in bitcoin to protect their wealth from inflation. As you know, bitcoin is an hedge for inflation, some wealthy people who wants to preserve their wealth for their generations invest in bitcoin as a store of value. However, as they invest & hodl bitcoin as a store of value, they will still make huge profits in the long term too but then, their primary purpose of investing in bitcoin isn't because they are after profits but to preserve their wealth and to keep it in value for their children.

He made a mistake by selling Bitcoin, and over time he will only regret it. The price of Bitcoin will improve further in the current and future positions, so there is still enough opportunity for him to sell Bitcoin. Holding Bitcoin for a long time is most important, so if you buy more Bitcoin at this time, it will be better for him because he will be able to stay away from regrets in the future.
If he has enough money, he can buy science and hold it for a long time, because the price and demand of Bitcoin have increased significantly compared to the past.

Do you still think you’ll sell your Bitcoin at a low price? And aren’t you convinced that Bitcoin’s price will be very profitable for you? Please share your thoughts as well.

That is why it is most important to be patient over time, only a patient person can collect good results. Moreover, those who sell Bitcoin in a hurry will definitely be in a situation like Greg Schoen, they will only have to regret it for the rest of their lives. Therefore, Bitcoin increases in cycles, it has been happening in the past, so there is definitely enough time to hold on to it in the present before the Bitcoin price increases in the next season.
Those who are deprived of Bitcoin investment at this time will be the ones who will regret it the most.
