it's not also all investor that is in for profit some are accumulating bitcoin as a future asset to there children also know bitcoin also serve as a store of value.

Yes bitcoin serve as a store of value, which is very correct, but let tell ourselves the truth, even people that invest in bitcoin for their future generation still do it because of the profit. Yes profit is not guaranteed and despite how volatile bitcoin can be, people still go ahead to invest and hold for a longterm as a future asset for their children because they believe it will be more profitable over the long term and hoped for higher returns in the future.

Even though this thread is up to seven pages I still want to say this, imagine the guy op dropped his post on X(twitter) he is regretting selling at selling cheap at the post which is not even the last two years but many years back imagine his regret at the current price of bitcoin, it’s really crazy how much people are regretting selling and I don’t wanna be part of that, it’s crazy people may not understand this now till the nearest future where they can’t afford it anymore.
The person who sold Bitcoin at a cheap price without holding it will regret it for the rest of his life. The longer he passes, the more his regret will increase. In reality, when someone buys Bitcoin, the importance of holding it is not well understood, but it becomes easier to understand with time. At some point, the investor realizes how much he has made a mistake in his life.

That is why it is better to take advantage of the opportunity when it comes. Moreover, every investment has risks, so if you want to get something good, you must invest, but you should also consider whether you have the ability. If you do not have the ability to hold it for the long term, then there is no point in buying that asset.
I think there are reasons why some persons sell there Bitcoin too soon and this could come when Bitcoin price has drop. Not been patience enough to hodl for long could make you sell when you are supposed to sell yet also not creating room for an emergency funds can make you to sell when there is a serious emergency and the only hope left is selling your Bitcoin, most at times people don't intentionally sell there Bitcoin some invested wrongly by using money that is meant to take care of their daily up keep or basic need to invest in Bitcoin instead of using there discretionary income to accumulate Bitcoin.

Moreover, every investment has risks, so if you want to get something good, you must invest, but you should also consider whether you have the ability. If you do not have the ability to hold it for the long term, then there is no point in buying that asset.

You mean a person like Lazlo who sold a large portion of his BTC for two pizzas? Up to this date, he doesn't regret his decision. You see, no one knows whenever BTC will keep going up in price or lose its value overnight. What's holding it together are the people supporting it. But what if governments worldwide decide to unilaterally "ban" Bitcoin or make it "illegal" for mainstream use? Then, prices will surely go all the way down the drain in an instant.

Some people are able to "hodl" their Bitcoin for long, while others can't due to life necessities and stuff. It all depends on your current financial situation. A price of $63k - $64k may be considered "too early" if you believe BTC will reach $1m in the future. Or it could be already "too late", if market prices don't go any higher. I'd just forget about market prices and carry on with life as usual.

If you look at today's exchange rate it is clear he is sorry but at that time I am sure he considered the sale of thousands of bitcoins as a profit. However, when it comes to regrets from selling bitcoin too early, there is no end to them. And now the benchmark of selling too early is no longer valid, no matter how much bitcoin you buy and sell, the facts are different.
There's no time selling Bitcoin early have been favourable by a Bitcoin holder...That should be one thing we should know, secondly, Bitcoin have no benchmark of selling early or not selling early, i think you misunderstand something here...The thing we are emphasizing on bitcoin is that, bitcoin is fast increasing and the longer bitcoin stays the more it's adding more potentials, except that the market is not friendly with it at the moment...But holding of bitcoin for long-term is more preferable than holding for short-term, and i understand that most people who sells their bitcoin early, are the short-term holders and if the price increases they always regret for selling early.
For those who fall the victim of selling too early, the pains will always be there anytime they think about it and this pain can last forever in mind of most people, any selling too early should also be prepared to be owing up to their decision of selling too soon, may we not sell too soon in such a way that we may end up regretting. For the market you talked about not being friendly at the moment, I don't agree with you, though it depends on your reason of saying that, because in my understanding of what you said, if it is because the market is in dip then  i completely disagree with you, the market is still friendly at the moment as investors can get more Bitcoin at a discounted price. The market has shown prove of recovery overtime and it will again even though no one knows when. We can't consider the market to be friendly only when we are in the bullrun.

I have learnt this about Bitcoin investment: the longer you hold, the more your chances of profitability increase; it is easier to be an investor in Bitcoin than to be a trader. All it takes is understanding when you could buy during a market fall and deciding to sell when the market rises; Bitcoin has always been profitable for its investors who have taken the risk of holding for a longer duration despite being a volatile asset.

I also like bitcoin because I can invest in it throughout the cycle, especially when its price is falling. I also like that this is a relatively long-term process, so you don’t have to be constantly on the edge of your seat, ready to act at any moment. I know that bitcoin has shown recurring cycles, and I can track them, which allows me to do this without unnecessary stress. I really hope bitcoin will continue to delight us with its volatility and that we’ll be able to use that volatility to build our wealth.

I think every Bitcoin investor is meant to be patient and disciplined at all times, because that's exactly how to be profitable in Bitcoin investment. In fact, I don't think it's only Bitcoin investment, because there are other things where we have made the same mistake, and that is absolutely not a good idea. Because we are investing for future purposes, it won't make sense when you sell your Bitcoin at a lesser price.

We should always try as much as possible to control ourselves when Bitcoin is not doing well, because within a short time everything will normalize, so that we wouldn't end up regretting at last.

We all know that it is not possible to predict the Bitcoin market. So it is almost impossible to understand exactly when the price will decrease and when it will increase. If someone buys Bitcoin and the price increases a little after a few days, then if they decide to sell Bitcoin after seeing a small profit, then it will definitely become a trading type mindset. When the price increases further in the future, that same person will regret it. Even if he wants to, he will not be able to buy Bitcoin at his expected price after that. Therefore, it is foolish to decide to buy or sell Bitcoin by seeing the short-term price change. Most people suffer losses by making such temporary decisions. Many suffer losses, while many make profits but lose the opportunity to make profits if they hold for a long time. Ultimately, he suffers losses.

There was a tweet from a Twitter user who regretted selling his Bitcoin too early. And perhaps he is one of the Bitcoin OG’s who once traded Bitcoin at a very low price. Greg Schoen is someone who has said that he wishes he still held onto the several thousand Bitcoin he once owned. But he can only lament his mistake for selling them too soon, where at the time he regretted selling his Bitcoin at $0.30. And he regretted it because Bitcoin subsequently rose to $8 per coin. I personally think he still feels regret today considering that Bitcoin now commands a truly fantastic price. And it seems he still can’t let it go given that he was still tweeting about it in 2022 even though he had turned that old tweet into an NFT sale by then.

snip

The halving cycle is still a long way off. And around each halving period Bitcoin offers the potential for profit because Bitcoin is becoming increasingly scarce and even demand for it is increasing across various sectors. Just because Bitcoin’s price has dropped slightly doesn’t mean you should sell it right away. You just need to be patient so you won’t regret it later. If you manage to hold out for a long time then you’ll reap the rewards of your patience all this time. Do you still think you’ll sell your Bitcoin at a low price? And aren’t you convinced that Bitcoin’s price will be very profitable for you? Please share your thoughts as well.

Now that's a very old post which people have already discussed a lot of times on this forum.
It's nothing new that he regretted his decision of selling too early but the thing is how would he know if it was too early back when he sold his coins.
It's the same situation for everyone. Identifying a selling point is not an easy task.
