Yeah, I think if a prediction market is simply integrated through a separate interface or dApp and users decide for themselves whether to use it or not, that doesn’t automatically mean their main BTC is exposed to additional risk.

It doesn't affect your Bitcoin since your seed phrase or the private keys are affected, I don't think Trust wallet support import of private keys in the first place. To begin with, Trust wallet is one of the most the terrible wallet for Bitcoin wallet, the simplest feature that you need in wallet, they don't have it, you can't adjust transaction fee, I don't see the need to use it for Bitcoin but perhaps multi wallet for altcoins are not bad with the wallet.

But from a practical point of view, I agree with the idea of keeping these things separate. If someone wants to use prediction markets, DeFi, or gambling services, it makes much more sense to have a separate wallet for that and only transfer an amount they are prepared to risk. BTC meant for long-term storage is better kept completely separate from experiments and constantly connecting to different apps.

Defi made me used Trust wallet, since they eliminate the need for one to go outside browsers to search for which one is legitimate or not. I have use prediction market like couple of times and I stopped because I don't think it's made for me and if I will like to use them, I will not because of it to want to use Trust wallet. These inclusion of the platform does not benefit the users in anyway since it's gambling, maybe Trust wallet want more visibility that is why they introduce prediction market.

This made these wallets convenient of adding to gamble with prediction markets. I guess that these are all added API from that source. I think that soon enough we'd see more partnerships from casinos/sportsbooks integrated with these wallet apps as well. It's only a matter of time but if these wallets have already made it, then the sportsbooks need to act along with this trend so that they won't be taking a huge share in the market or slashes a volume from them.

Although this is a partnership that simply uses APIs, predictive markets like this make the wallet feature more widely used and more options for users whether they want to use it or not,
so there is no need to leave the wallet platform they like.

I don't think it is so much about wallets independently choosing to show prediction markets to their users. Those wallets you mentioned actually have functionalities which allow users to interact with smart contracts, that is why other kind of services like decentralized exchanges, NFT marketplaces and providers of liquidity are also showed together with prediction markets.

It is a multi wallet that can be used for any purpose with many features and several market prediction services, and choosing the best wallet is important.
I still use Phantom and Safepal to this day and rarely use Trustwallet.

Trust wallet is a no from me, even if they offer the same product phantom wallet offers, I will go for phantom and not trust wallet, they have a better confidence score than Trust wallet and users should put that into consideration.

Yes, that's what happened, Trustwallet's trust score did decrease and wallets such as Phantom, Safepal were more recommended.
I only use the recommended wallet and with little to no problem, to stay safe.

Yes, it increases the demand that helps the wallet itself. And I think they also earn through commissions from it. What they offer is convenience and you can see how much you have in your entire portfolio if you have some in it, and the easy access makes the gamblers want to do it when they know that there's no need to spend for a transaction fee and all they have to do is to use the prediction market on these wallets.

Well it fits the system of the wallet itself.. It’s surprising a lot of people still take that specific wallet serious.
In my country, it’s rare to see anyone into crypto who won’t tell you they use trust wallet as when  you ask them which wallet they using.

Infact, that will be their first answer and if I try to convince them, they argue  ..

The question is, which wallet isn't it in? Which wallet has decided not to? This has been happening for some time now; the list is long: Crypto.com, Atomic Wallet, and so on. You just need to be willing to bet, as it doesn't require logup; you're already there to grant access to the predictions.

This is an interesting piece of information, i never thought i'd see a wallet integrating prediction markets in their platform. We've already seen a lot of crypto exchanges and trading applications adopt prediction market, as it has become very popular and offers them another source of revenue.

I don't use Trust Wallet for obvious reasons and i don't think i'd like the idea of a wallet i use adopting prediction markets. Maybe this is another reason not to recommend Trust Wallet to bitcoiners, if it's to hodl altcoins, then maybe it's fine.

I game across this couple of months ago, I asked similar questions and I think I got an answer from users in the forum, can't remember the exact topic either. I saw a topic somewhere too talking about Trump jnr sponsoring polymarket prediction market to expand it's business, and that other exchange too is integrating prediction market into their feature.

Trust wallet never seems to leave behind but following up the trend, doing what other big brands are doing meeting up their standard, it's even more easier because users doesn't need to deposit but only connect with wallet and start predicting. Love it.

Thanks for the information. I have actually had a Trust Wallet for a long time but I haven't used it in ages so I didn't notice they had added a prediction market feature.

But I noticed that Binance (which also owns Trust Wallet) has recently introduced this feature. In any case, I haven't tried it yet, but I expect it to be a good feature for those interested in the prediction market, as you can place bets directly from your account without needing an external deposit.

Did not trust Trust Wallet when it came out and I still do not trust it now, but mainly because of the marketing around it and all the influencers. I will always stick to the ones I know with no marketing and no influencers. Adding a prediction market now,,, makes me dislike it even more

Absolutely,,, influencers are not users. They are paid advertisers. Remember and understand this and you will realize they know almost nothing about the product and will never say the downside of it. Do you want a wallet to invest funds in advertising or in development and security? I know what my choice is

The bulky nature of the code also enables hacker to locate code loophole and entry points. Capital security is prioritized unproductively towards profit making by intermediaries.

This excessive commercialization practice shows the lack of commitment of manufacturers to privacy and software integrity. The pursuit of business expansion is greedy, at the expense of the sense of security of the consumers. Protection of wealth which involves storing of assets of value needs simplicity in design which does not allow weight to leak.

They do not like that people are not using their wallets for many transactions anymore hence they are not getting much transaction fees so them putting the prediction market is just a way for them to make money and not miss out on the new trend of market prediction. Now we are going to know the companies that are in the market to only make profits or serve the purpose of providing Only wallet service to investors. I would not mind exchanges and casino having this on their platform but for wallets to join them that is wrong even though from a business aspect, it will make them profits but that is not what wallets are supposed to be doing but I know majority of them would not care but participate .

I used phantom wallet today and after a long time and they have done integrated both perps and prediction markets. I believe we are heading to a world where degeneracy will be the order of the day and everyone will need to do a bit of risk-taking.

Those count as wallet, and they even have their own android and Apple integrations in the for of applications.

I don't think giving people the ability to do very addicted things as fast as possible or as easy as possible is a good thing.. for who do you think it is good? These kinds of integrations may look good from a business perspective, but we are hurting people by pushing gambling into every part of your life. This is the same as your bank app advertising gambling directly in there. It should never do that, it should help you have healthy finances and not advertise ways to lose your money.

I don't think you are entirely accurate with one p[art of it, I don't know how it is with Trezor but Ledger has been pushing many kinds of things there. Refer a friend, swap services, memecoins, and even their own Ledger recover service that they advertise is not a product that secures Bitcoin it actually makes your Bitcoin more vulnerable by involving a third party. Trezor is probably much better, but I want to say here that with all these things I would not be surprised if Ledger does eventually start to do it. It is just a question of how lucrative it becomes for them.

Good point, but I don't see a reason to make any difference for a cold and hot wallet like Trust wallet for something like this. The applications are meant to manage and keep finances. Even if hot wallets will usually have smaller balances if they are used correctly, they should not try to manipulate the user to waste the money away or to gamble. It seems like a big conflict to work against the user this way. They are turning crypto into some big algorithm machine that manipulates people like social media does, they are reinventing the old stuff..

Those kinds of wallets have always had ads. I haven't used them in a while now, but with the mobile wallets I've used—and I've used several—I remember seeing various ads, including ones for sportsbooks and casinos. And the most striking example was when I saw an ad for 1xBit.

They haven't done it so far, and I hope they don't. It's something that sets them apart from other types of wallets, and I hope it stays that way.
