~ If you're the man, what will you do?SourceFirstly, I’d do what the court would tell me to do. If it's 50% - I'd give her 50%. But if the court said I should give her nothing, I'd still give her 10%. Because since we lived together for 7 years, 4 hours that passed since the divorce before the lottery win can't be decisive. It was just her poor luck and it would be unfair to take advantage of that. Also, if you watch the video from the link, you'll see in that particular case the women has all the right to be compensated.

. If you're the man, what will you do? SourceIn cases like this, the first thing is what was the main reason they divorced, because if the divorce was on mutual consent, like it was just a result of falling out of love for each other, the man would be more than willing to give her a share of it, but if the divorce was a result of conflict between them, then it's near impossible for the man to share anything with her, unless the court gave him a command to do so. Personal i would even call her and inform her of my winnings and told her to come and take her share if we divorced on mutual consent, but if it's through conflicts or just because another man came into the picture, that's why she initiated a divorce, I would not want to give her even a cent of it because I would feel betrayed in that instance.

If you're the man, what will you do?
The scariest part is that with the state of laws in the west, there could be some judge and jury which may side with the woman. Men always seem to be victims with comes to divorce and assets reassignment. Exactly, men do seem to be in the victim in divorce cases in most western world and to be frank, I have some friends who are typically very scared to get married for several reasons and when asked, most of the just give reasons that they're not ready because they believe it comes with a lot of drama and some women get into marriages with wealthy people with a strict agenda for a divorce so they can take part of the wealth and we've seen several cases like that when women come up with silly reasons for divorce even when the man have never done them any wrong. For this very case, i read from the user below your post that the woman lost the case which was exactly how it was supposed to be and that woman might just be living with so much regrets after this because trust me $40m is no small money and if she had been a little patient, she would be a part of the glory.

I dont know if this was posted here before, but if it ws i will lock this topic asap. There's a video circulating on social media lately about a woman who took her ex-husband to court for her own share of the $40 million lottery he won 3hours later, after their divorce was finalized. The woman claimed she suffered with the man for 7 years, while she also gave up her career to support the man during those 7 years, but the ex-husband dont buy it and said she was interested in the little money he had now his lottery jackpot winnings after they had already divorced. If you're the man, what will you do? SourceThere is nothing anyone can do about it, the man is no in the place to do whatever he feels like it's right, it's on the court to make a decision to either call off the case or fight for the woman. I thought Donald Trump already stoped this nonsense from happening in America? I think I read online that women who diveroces their husbands will go away with nothing that belongs to the man? Anyone from America on here? Can someone verify this? This woman have no right to the man's property or money since they were already divorced before the jackpot, it's her loss.

If you're the man, what will you do? SourceThat guy seems like a real lucky devil, he got rid of his wife and won the jackpot, it’s an incredible stroke of luck. And if his wife claims she sacrificed her career for his sake, that’s likely a lie, in all probability, she would have built a career if she could have, but when she failed, she spun it as a sacrifice made to support her husband. I think people like that should be cut out of your life, and I’m damn glad the guy won right after the divorce, that way he doesn't have to hand over a share of the winnings to his ex-wife.)

If you're the man, what will you do? SourceIf the story is true and that’s how things went, it’s a plot worthy of a film; in any case, there are 8 billion of us in the world, so anything really can happen. Now that she’s asking for money in court following the divorce as compensation, it’s probably for the best that things turned out this way and that they’ve split up, so that he can find someone better and she can find someone rich. Let’s just say she’ll now be able to enjoy life to the full.

Sometimes luck hits you very hard in a good way of talking, it must be a huge feeling to receive 40 million dollars just 3 hours from getting your freedom back, a whole range of different new things and ideas open suddenly up to such person.

I don't think personal opinions would matter in something like this. There should be a law that focuses on it and checks when the ticket was bought. That would determine whether it's marital property or something else. Those hours would be crucial. There would be different legal outcomes if it has different times. Hmm. I hope it works out well with whoever deserves it I think that it shouldn't matter when the winning lottery ticket was bought, so far he didn't win it before the final pronouncement of their divorce by the court. Think about it what if he didn't win would the ex-wife share in the lose? That is to refund half of the amount that he lost on the ticket, I'm sure she wouldn't think twice about saying NO. It must be very painful for the woman because she missed being a part of the jackpot, I guess it's just her bad luck, let her move on with the regret, if the man doesn't have a pity to give her anything she is not entitled anymore to any of his priorities. I believe that divorce must suck when one of the former couples are doing very well, there's always envy somewhere that they should have been a part of it but unfortunately if you have moved on you're no longer entitled to being a part of your former spouse's life.

Are these stories deliberately being pushed onto social media to keep a lot of people occupied with fruitless gossip? After a divorce, the ex‑wife can no longer claim anything under the law. That’s where you can put an end to the matter. Although, in reality, I have no idea what the court decided. Actually, I’m not very interested in it. Still, I see such stories as a kind of talk show with shouting, intense emotions, and aggression - everything we (people) love to watch...

Three hours later? Wow, he’s doubly lucky! The woman claimed she suffered with the man for 7 years, while she also gave up her career to support the man during those 7 years, but the ex-husband dont buy it and said she was interested in the little money he had now his lottery jackpot winnings after they had already divorced.
Ex-wife’s greed knows no bounds, as she is trying to lay claim to something she no longer has any legal right to. By the way, if the ex-husband were facing a huge fine, would she still claim half of that too? If you're the man, what will you do?
Of course, one has to stick to the letter of the law. She was no longer officially his wife when the man won the jackpot. There is no room for ambiguity there. What’s funny is how opinions online are split. As for the half that thinks the ex-wife should get half the winnings - are they even sane? On what grounds? On none. What a pleased and happy look on the man's face in this video.

Men always seem to be victims with comes to divorce and assets reassignment. Marriage in the western world is messed up, and it's because of this divorce settlement you will see a couple that has been up to 30 years divorce because most woman will start seeing the financial reward of divorcing her husband as an opportunity of a lifetime. For this very case, i read from the user below your post that the woman lost the case which was exactly how it was supposed to be and that woman might just be living with so much regrets after this because trust me $40m is no small money and if she had been a little patient, she would be a part of the glory.
Let her live with the regret if she want to, because Impatient is what cost her this opportunity of a more comfortable life with her husband besides her, but since she chooses to divorce him earlier, she should live with the consequence of her decision.

I will gives some portion of the win money to my ex wife but not too much because we are divorced already. I don't want to be someone who don't cared to my ex wife so giving some will not be a problem. While I still have the rest of the money, I can use it for myself, builds my new life, searching for someone who really love me and live together. Maybe I also build a new business with my love and don't think about my ex wife because she got the money from the jackpot winnings.

I think it's foolish to demand anything after a divorce, no matter what she sacrificed. I'll assume she was a housewife since she didn't have a career, which means her husband earned money all those years to support them both, and now she wants half of his winnings, I hope she can't take anything back. Let her learn to earn money for herself instead of taking it from others, especially since after the divorce, they're technically strangers.

SourceThese case is very simple to me because according to your narration here, that the wife took the husband to court for a divorce and the divorce was finally finalized and 3 hours later the husband was able to win a jackpot of $40 million and now the woman that brought her husband to to court for a divorce is claiming her share of $40 million, if it is me, i will let her know that even the court can not force me to give her any money, so for that, according how divorce works and if happen to share our children too, i promise her to train up her part of the children she collect from me and apart from that, i will not give her any money from my winning because the reason she left the marriage might be because she found someone better than me.

At first, I thought he purchased the ticket before the divorce, but that's not the case. So...I support the ruling, and I think it's a fair one. But I love the counter suit though, that was a knight's move . The judge was clearly sympathetic towards her, otherwise, she would've lost that counter suit. Although, this looked like it was scripted. But, if I were the man, I would've held my ground in the counter suit just to teach her a lesson (just kidding, I would've just wanted to settle things ASAP and get it over with). But, if she had asked me nicely, I could've left her with something, maybe a 100 grand.

Even if the law is this existing. According to the article, that money was made hours after the divorce have already been finalized so the woman is entitled to none of it, had it been it was while they hadn’t finalized it yet, then maybe she would still entitled to a fair share, but in this case, she’s entitled to nothing.

I hope it works out well with whoever deserves it If the divorce has already been finalized, I believe the lottery winner should not have to make any payment to the other party, and the court ruling should reflect this. However, if they are not officially divorced, the winnings would likely be divided, as the money is considered an asset acquired during the marriage. I do not know exactly how it would turn out and this is the first time I have encountered this specific issue but I think it would be best to try to reach a settlement with the other party. I am certain that the winner suffered significant financial losses prior to this lottery win, perhaps they endured difficult times together while the winner was struggling financially. Any payment made should, at the very least, be viewed as compensation for those hard times.

If you're the man, what will you do?
Personally, if the divorce had been an amicable one, I would have given my ex-wife a share of the prize, but it certainly doesn’t look like it was. I agree with those who say that, since he won the lottery after they had already divorced, she isn’t entitled to anything, and since it wasn’t an amicable divorce, I wouldn’t give her anything. It would be a different story if the wife had found out that her husband had won the lottery shortly before the divorce became final and had hidden it from him. In that case, she would indeed be entitled to half. But once they’re divorced, whatever the ex-husband wins is his, period.

Fleeing the country with all my money, obviously..
Why fleeing the country because of her? I'm not going anywhere and I'm not giving her anything If I have child(ren) with her, I will consider giving her a decent amount to take care of herself and my child under her care but I won't mind suing her if she's demanding for equal share of the money. Everyday we see more reasons why some men never want to commit to any woman at all. It's obvious some women are after men's money and nothing like genuine love in the first place. I can tell that even the court was surprised at her case.

unless the court gave him a command to do so.
On what ground will any court issue out such command or order? Hence they're divorced and all papers already signed, that's the end of their bond and no court should give that kind of unfair judgment. but if it's through conflicts or just because another man came into the picture, that's why she initiated a divorce, I would not want to give her even a cent of it because I would feel betrayed in that instance.
Why will any reasonable man want to give out his hard earned money to a woman to go and enjoy with another man, not just a mere woman but someone you have once had something with in the past. Offcourse no man will want to do that. I will rather give it out to an orphanage home than giving it out to such a person.
