In my perspective the op is mixing two different things. One is the amount of money people spend while gambling and the second one is the quantity of there income which they were risking for gamble. I also agree that the rich people spends a lot because if someone open a bet of 50k it is huge spending but maybe it doesn't affect the lifestyle of that person as compared to some poor men who just lost 500$ and he is in debt. Let us not make a division of which one gambles more. Because both the rich and the poor gamble a lot, in my country there are a lot of poor people who are desperate to gamble because they want to make a living out of it. I totally don't agree with that, there's no way poor people could afford spending more money on gambling than the rich, how can you stake more if you don't have the staking power which happens to be big money?. Rich people bet smart, they use huge money in combining little odds and often times it turns out to be successful while people with less staking power combine lots of odds with little money which is very risky due to too many accumulation legs.

The poor people gamble more frequently compared to the rich people because they see gambling as a source of livelihood and a way out of poverty, while the rich people mostly gamble for fun and the excitement that comes with it. Some poor people stake more than the rich because you have to calculate how much they stake based on their overall income and the percentage that they use to bet. You will see a poor man gambling with 100% of his income but a rich man cannot do that.

The rich spend more when come to gambling that the poor . But know this , to them that’s the amount they can afford to risk . Just like how also the poor have a particular amount they can risk too . I'm definitely not a rich person but in my opinion the rich have other types of casinos, such as stocks, which i consider to be a game of chance in all respects.
or on a whim they buy companies, i don't think a rich person would sit in front of the roulette, i really don't see it.
