Very good post about why a dedicated and qualified committee is important for any crypto success, based on NXT example:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=528023.msg7245897#msg7245897

While it probably obvious to most of the participants here, I still recommend giving a look.

"Some members of committee have left of died? Doesn't matter: replace them and keep going on !"  Smiley Cheesy Smiley

I like it. Like a freaking light bulb )

But yeah, that's what we're going for. I remember days and weeks of endless discussions in that huge Nxt thread and I'm preparing myself for the same here. I only hope it'll be easier coz we can use Nxt experience.

LOL I like it. Though this is absolutely not my philosophy of life, this thread is so refreshing to read, as all the stupid comments are deleted Smiley

To be honest I confused threads, coz it's 4:30 am, I thought it's Qora thread Smiley

But it also applies to Sim. Self-moderated thread won't help, all those discussions were between most active members: global warming, size of fees, commitees, unclaimed funds. All trolls crawled back to their holes when real members started discussing those things  Cheesy

I won't Smiley If someone is willing to give 100 BTC right now for my 3.5 BTC investment. I've already chosen my Porsche.

Sheep detected

I like the reaction. I only hope most part of initial investors would do that. In Qora everybody was also saying "not selling under 100 sat!!!" and now lots of people is dumping at 50. The same with Nem: "no sell orders under 100-150K Nxt for 1M coins!!!" and the price went down to 13K.

That says a lot about the qora/nem " investors"...Besides, do you know why qora dropped after its initial rise? There is a good reason, which nxtchg will not let happen for sim.

Furthermore; as far as i understand Nxtchg was not looking for shortterm -make a quick profit and move on- group of "investors" that grab everything they can get. And not without reason. I really thought you were one of the long term supporters.

And that porsche. That would be an old and used one in your case Wink

I guess unexperienced investors were afraid to sell coins through trading thread that's why they wasn't selling low right after the launch. And because they unexperienced they started to sell low as soon as the first exchange started trading the coin. There's also opinion that ShareXCoin owner were dumping coins and stealing bitcoins, that's why the price went down to 35. Now it's 55-60.

100 BTC is a new Porsche Cayman, actually.

Can you give concrete examples of how exactly committees led to NXT success? Because I don't remember any.

By the way, one shound't underestimate the power of early adoption. A guy who paid 100 BTC for 10M coins would probably be much more active than a guy who paid 3.5 BTC Smiley

I can give you an address if you want to close the distance. I wouldn't mind additional 96.5 BTC Smiley

@dzarmush - any chance you have time to participate in the Badge Bounty?

I think badges design are solely determined by space of using i.e. exchange. It doesn't make much sense to do the job until you can actually put them into the layout.

I think the price had more to do with source problems, fork after fork. That is exactly what nxtchg doesnt want for this coin and as i could read was one of the primary goals.
I disagree. Version after version show innovation and commitment (like there was in nxt beginning)
the beta client was smooth because there was small amount of participants, its normal to find bugs on main net.

I agree - maybe NxtChg can post pics of the exchange and add more needed info.

Do you think? I personally think a guy that pays 100btc at once would be more active somewere else... If you have a couple of k btc, would you mind to invest time in promoting or just investing here and there?

Nxtchg; come on, i am a supporter of yours. I like your attitude although you remove nearly all my posts (which is my bad) and defend your cutting edge work. Dont worry!

Don't listen to friends, listen to the dev: "That's why I want to build upon ideas from Bitcoin, Ripple and NXT and create a simple coin with the goal of not adding more and more confusing features, but rather focusing on three S'es: Speed, Security, Simplicity".
