Hi,

I just pointed my Gridseed at nicehash. How can I know this is working?

I am using this command line:
Code:
sudo ~/cpuminer-gridseed/cpuminer-master/minerd -F 850 -G /dev/ttyACM0  -o stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3333 -u <address> -p x

I registered an account just in case but I cannot see any paiment to me. Since I have only one gridseed, I will need time just to get my first paiment... or to know that something is going wrong.

If that helps, my output:
Code:

OR, you could check your current stats live: https://nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=miners&a=0&addr=<address>
Exactly what I needed, thanks!

Unfortunately, when I go there, I see
Code:
5 minute accepted speed MH/s	0.0000
So there is definitely something wrong with my setup. Any idea where to start? The Gridseed is powered on and running (the noisy fan reminds me this all the time and dmesg (Arch Linux) gives me (among other things)
Code:
[423742.270205] cdc_acm 3-1.6:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device

Thanks.

Let's assume you have the correct connection details entered and you are powering the miner with a 12V 1A+ power supply. First thing I notice is that you are using a software which I did not use, instead you can try to get cgminer (very hard to find a working config) or bfgminer running, they have a better interface for debugging. If you still want to use the cpuminer, try different versions, compile them yourself, read different guides and documents (from other forums and sites).

If you are running correctly, you should see accepted/rejected messages in the log, at least once every 3-5 minutes.

Make sure the mining software you are using doesn't have extranonce bug! You will get only rejects in such case. Check this page: https://www.nicehash.com/software/

I've been following this guide https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494625.msg5448813#msg5448813
I could not compile cgminer - instructions are outdated on the readme, the install-sh requires argument, but there is no -h (let alone man) on how to do it

I will try with the link you provide on https://www.nicehash.com/software/ (https://www.nicehash.com/software/cgminer-gc3355-nicehash-linux.zip)

Edit: the binary asks for a library that is not installed, libcurl-gnutls.so.4. And when I try to install it with pacman (Arch Linux), it fails :/
Why, oh why it always have to be so complicated?

X11 and X13 ports on multi and direct are both showing DEAD in the new sgminer, all other algorithm ports are fine and alive... is this the case?

EDIT: the pools are showing dead, not the gpus.

Expect certain skills when using Arch Smiley

Try with Debian instead, light linux and full compatibility.

The missing lib should be in libcurl or curl-devel packages.

Try again after 3 hours. Looks like your rig was temporary banned due to hacker-like activities.

My rigs frequently see the nicehash pools as dead and jump to a backup pool. This happens frequently, almost every 5 minutes. Is it just me?

This is happening if you don't use recommended software that supports extranonce1 change. Check here: https://www.nicehash.com/software/

I really like to use your service, and I have two suggestions:

1. Could you make one field for pool instead of "Stratum hostname or IP" + "Port" ? I often copy direct line from my pools.conf, like "stratum+tcp://stratum.anypool.com:3333". And I have to delete "stratum+tcp" and then cut port and paste it in another field.

2. There is no total BTC cost in completed orders list. I'd like to know how much did I paid for that.

1. For experienced user, it is way simpler to simply copy & paste whole line in, no doubt about that. But we are worried about newbie users. There were already tons of mistakes, people don't include port, they make double stratum+tcp and similar nonsense. When port is separate it explicitly forces you to use it.

2. Added.

Is it possible to add a "Total Unpaid balance BTC" for all Algos together on the Website when watching the AccountPage?

Could you make ajax refresh when user clicks to refresh orders?

Also, it's very unhandy to cancel the orders and create a new ones when i'm going to decrease the price.  Why does it not allowed?

Will think about that one. Until we have unified minimal payment threshold in place, this total balance might cause additional confusion.

Why do you need it?

Price reduction is not permitted for obvious reasons - you could drag current miners with you. In practice, someone setting top price and collecting all miners could then drop price severely down to 0.01 giving miners very small payment. All miners would have to get disconnected if price gets decreased and for that reason, new order is needed.

Hey guys. If you are using the v5 builds of sgminer and have problems, please let us know here: https://github.com/sgminer-dev/sgminer/issues/new

First for those who cannot or don't want to help with the problems, you can run with a single pool and there should be no problems. The issues are usually happening when switching algorithms.

We are aware of a few issues and are working to fix them (there has been significant progress already in the past few days). It helps if you run sgminer with "-v" option  and show us a screenshot or copy-paste of text in sgminer when it crashes. For Linux users you can also use this configure "CFLAGS="-g -O1 -Wall -march=native" ./configure" and then make, which will enable better traces on crash. Also you can run with "-T -v" or even "-T -D" which will give much more information and thus make it easier to find and fix the problems.

Dont think its a failure. But is it right that it jump between X11 and X13? Never saw the Algo jump to scrypt or nscrypt.
