Can anyone provide detailed information about POS and what one has to do to maximise as much benefit as one can from it through Pandacoin PND

A lot of people (including me) are not fully aware about what/how POS works and what one should do

Leave you wallet open! theres nothing more too it... and UNLOCK your wallet if you have it locked...

go too your wallet----->>help----->>Debug Window----->>Console----->>walletpassphrase <passphrase> <timeout>

Quote
typ :     walletpassphrase Yourownpassword 999999999999

The 99999999999 is the amount of seconds too leave youre wallet unlocked for minting! (you have to unlock everytime you closed your PND wallet)

I thought that it would suffice to do
Options -> unlock wallet -> for staking only

Isn't it equivalent?

What is safest procedure for wallet updating? Can I just save my wallet.dat file, delete old wallet and install new one and insert wallet.dat? After that I should unlock new wallet?

It needs to be unlocked every time you restart the wallet if you do it through menu option

the setting of ~1 trillion seconds through console command will remove that need i think

Alright, this is important.

One instance that is vital for the checkpoint system hasn't been changed on version 2.0.0 (relative to blackcoins source). This is fixed in version 2.0.1 (https://github.com/pandacoin-official/pandacoin/commit/7e01e8c is the relevant commit).

Everyone needs to update from http://thepandacoin.org

The Daily Panda

Proof of Stake Wallet version 2.0.1 is now available! Update your wallet to prepare for the PoS rollout!

One instance that is vital for the checkpoint system hasn't been changed on version 2.0.0 (relative to blackcoins source). This is fixed in version 2.0.1 (https://github.com/pandacoin-official/pandacoin/commit/7e01e8c is the relevant commit).

Wallet version 2.0.1 is now available on https://github.com/pandacoin-official/pandacoin and as binary.

A few things to consider before updating:

1. You NEED to back up your wallet.dat. The software will automatically do a copy but it's better to be sure.
2. The wallet will take around 10 minutes reindexing so please be patient.
3. The wallet might crash and give an error after importing (Windows 7 has been tested successfully). This is okay - just start the wallet again and you should be good to go.

The wallet is available to download under the following links:
win32 standalone|win32 setup|mac|linux|src

PoS begins from block #136113. There is approximately 3 more hours til PoS implementation! Download our new Pandacoin (PND) wallet so that you would be ready for the PoS rollout!

Can I still mine Pandacoin (PND) directly with my mining rig?

With Pandacoin (PND) as a pure PoS coin, you would not be able to mine it directly. Instead, you will mine other alternative crypto-currencies and exchange them for Pandacoin (PND) through our ever growing mhs multipool. This way, you will be able to still mine Pandacoin (PND) from the multipool, and help increase the value of Pandacoin (PND) at the same time.

How does the Pandacoin (PND) multipool work?

The Pandacoin (PND) multipool automatically switches between coins to mine based on difficulty and price variations in order to be as profitable as possible for the miners. For payout, the multipool computes the proportional share of each miner over rounds that last four hours. Once a round is complete, and after the mined blocks become mature, the multipool exchanges all coins for Pandacoin (PND). Please note that due to the time required for block maturation, deposits and withdrawals on exchanges, payouts for a round are processed one hour after the end of the next one. The multipool also apply a fee of 1.25%, in addition to the exchange and transactions fees required by the operation

You guys are awesome. F**k it, for every unique picture of a panda posted in this thread until POS kicks in I'll donate 10k to one of the pnd4pnd.com funds. If you want a specific fund to receive the donation, just say so.

Please quote this so everyone knows the donations are ongoing, and please consider donating even more!

Can anyone provide detailed information about POS and what one has to do to maximise as much benefit as one can from it through Pandacoin PND

The 99999999999 is the amount of seconds too leave youre wallet unlocked for minting! (you have to unlock everytime you closed your PND wallet)

Ok so tried this 999 Billion seconds console command, but every time i restart my wallet i find it locked again

So basically that command is useless and i may not be able to stake i guess
