I only came across XSI yesterday.  I have a few old XSS in my wallet that I mined on launch, is there any way I can get them converted to XSI ?

A clock was repeatedly posted in this thread, on our website, and daily alert on Twitter.  Also, when the switch to PoS was announced I personally contacted everyone that had posted in our thread up to that point to notify them about the forthcoming change.  We went to pretty great lengths to make sure everyone was aware of the switch.

First off the new devs raised this coin from the "abyss". They didn't cheat any one out of anything. It was all but worthless with no dev support and was almost down to 1 sat on the ONE and only exchange it was on.

In comes CryptoNewbie and BMiner777 with a rework of the entire coin. Then all of the sudden its on 4 exchanges and getting price jumps to 5000 sat.

So what do they do next?

They do the one thing that any good dev would do. Put a vote out to the community to decide what to do with the coin. Give the power to the majority that held, mined, and hoped.

You are right that there was a 7 day window. But what you are not seeing is the weeks before where the community that was invested (like you) voted on the switch to POS. There was in fact about 1 month when you look at the whole transition.

CryptoNewbie didn't decide to screw anyone out of anything. He didn't even decide to make a deadline, he had to. There is no reason to be angry at him at all. We (the community) decided upon the change so if you need to let off some steam at least direct it in the right place.

The switch from XSS to XSI was a necessary evil. There is no way to magically make the old wallet/chain do the new POS features that WE decided upon.

Your ridiculous autism comments just go to show what kind of person you are. CryptoNewbie is nice enough to ask you to be part of the community but I honestly hope you don't, at least not without a direct apology to the new dev team.

The fact is that there is no premined special pile that can be handed out to people. The swap has been made and now its all XSI. I have offered and sent XSI to people that missed the deadline from my own stash.  I would have offered to help you as well but NEVER with an attitude like that.

I have to agree here. I didn't lose any Money, but the 7 day window was actually not very well considered. Imagine someone is on holiday and the US decided to exchange the US Dollar for sth else within 7 days. Everybody who misses that timeline loses his mney. Man, that does not work out. You cannot decide to make other people's worthless by the means of a certain timeframe if they don't follow a certain procedure.
I would propose to find a solution that pleases the People who have been burnt here.
CN, you are trying really hard to encourage polite discussion and enforce good manners here in the forum. I like that.
But if someone really faced financial damage due to this tansition, we as a community should step up and see what we can do.
I totally agree that even one Person out of a thousand should not be left alone with just having lost his moey.

We felt that posting in the thread, contacting people via private message, posting a clock on the thread and website, updating Twitter every day, and adjusting the thread title was a pretty big effort to make people aware of what was going on.

I understand that some people may be displeased with the result, so I did show concern for their situation.  

There was only 1 person that showed any real disdain for the process, and they decided to use vulgar language rather than engage in an intelligent discussion.

No doubt, I also understand your point of view. Let's take the US example again: you come home from your Holidays and want to get some money from the bank. They tell you in a very polite tone that you missed a timeline and your Money is now nonexistent. Would you stay calm? I would like to know how many People missed the timeline and what's the amount of coins they lost. Maybe we as a community can come up with a solution then. I am not talking about a 100% reimbursement, but maybe we can make up for a little. I am not asking you in the first place. I agree you need to be compensated for your work. As I do not know how much you are holding,  I cannot require you to give up anything. Nevertheless, those that - in relative terms - hold a lot, might be willing to put up a small a fund and reimburse those that have lost their coins.

Clearly I have and will continue to make mistakes.  I have used probably 200 hours of my time and my own money to work on this coin.  There was no pre-mine or IPO, so I am basically working for free.  

Will continue to work hard for the community as long as that makes sense and people think I am doing a good job.

No doubt, I also understand your point of view. Let's take the US example again: you come home from your Holidays and want to get some money from the bank. They tell you in a very polite tone that you missed a timeline and your Money is now nonexistent. Would you stay calm? Would you say "Oh, I see, may I kindly ask for the reason?" even without being sarcastic?
I would like to know how many People missed the timeline and what's the amount of coins they lost. Maybe we as a community can come up with a solution then. I am not talking about a 100% reimbursement, but maybe we can make up for a little. I am not asking you in the first place. I agree you need to be compensated for your work. As I do not know how much you are holding,  I cannot require you to give up anything. Nevertheless, those that - in relative terms - hold a lot, might be willing to put up a small a fund and reimburse those that have lost their coins.
As you said, there were only few people approaching you - even better! It can't be that bad then for a community to make up for that.

It seems that there was a slight over reaction to a legitimate concern. Personally I think utilizing the "are you autistic" can hardly be considered vulgar unless you are so caught up in political correctness. It was however a knee-jerk reaction, but I think we are all prone to that from time to time. Given the context of the entire timeline it was also unfair. I think it is probably more effective to just come out and say, hey this may not be truly ample notice. Certainly some consideration for those that are late would be nice, even if not practical.
