We tried to consider as many variables as possible. There really was no perfect solution. The coin had been dormant for so long, that we thought we needed to move quickly to galvanize the community.
If we had given 14 days notice, then on the 15th day someone would have said they weren't given enough time. I knew that going into the process. What is the number of days that would have balanced every single person's interests? There is none!
We felt that posting in the thread, contacting people via private message, posting a clock on the thread and website, updating Twitter every day, and adjusting the thread title was a pretty big effort to make people aware of what was going on.
I understand that some people may be displeased with the result, so I did show concern for their situation.
There was only 1 person that showed any real disdain for the process, and they decided to use vulgar language rather than engage in an intelligent discussion.
I am doing the absolute best I can. I believe I am very quick to address people's question in the thread and private message.
Clearly I have and will continue to make mistakes. I have used probably 200 hours of my time and my own money to work on this coin. There was no pre-mine or IPO, so I am basically working for free.
Will continue to work hard for the community as long as that makes sense and people think I am doing a good job.
No doubt, I also understand your point of view. Let's take the US example again: you come home from your Holidays and want to get some money from the bank. They tell you in a very polite tone that you missed a timeline and your Money is now nonexistent. Would you stay calm? Would you say "Oh, I see, may I kindly ask for the reason?" even without being sarcastic? I would like to know how many People missed the timeline and what's the amount of coins they lost. Maybe we as a community can come up with a solution then. I am not talking about a 100% reimbursement, but maybe we can make up for a little. I am not asking you in the first place. I agree you need to be compensated for your work. As I do not know how much you are holding, I cannot require you to give up anything. Nevertheless, those that - in relative terms - hold a lot, might be willing to put up a small a fund and reimburse those that have lost their coins. As you said, there were only few people approaching you - even better! It can't be that bad then for a community to make up for that. It seems that there was a slight over reaction to a legitimate concern. Personally I think utilizing the "are you autistic" can hardly be considered vulgar unless you are so caught up in political correctness. It was however a knee-jerk reaction, but I think we are all prone to that from time to time. Given the context of the entire timeline it was also unfair. I think it is probably more effective to just come out and say, hey this may not be truly ample notice. Certainly some consideration for those that are late would be nice, even if not practical. Well said and nice to see I am not alone with my point of view. Also, you guys know that for a community, this would probably a novum in this very often corruptive cryptoworld. I would very much like the idea to set new standards here as a community.

I would very much like the idea to set new standards here as a community. Now this is more like it. Civil conversations. First off I have to agree with CN. There is no timeline that he could have possibly created that would please everyone. 7 days is short but the conversation went on far longer than that. The biggest thing to consider is time in the crypto world. Think about the thousands of coins that have been created and how quickly people lose interest. If CN decided 30 days till the change 3/4 of the people would have forgotten. 7 days (after the weeks of voting) was fair in my opinion. As far as the "loss" of money. I just don't buy that. I highly doubt anyone spent more than $10 on XSS in its first form. Yes they spent money on electricity mining but still. I personally have already done what you are implying needs to be done. This community is already the "novum" you spoke of. I have offered to help two people. One excepted but another (who lost 20k) excepted the fact that this is the crypto world and declined. I have no problem with helping to remedy the issue but we do have to come down to the final point. You can't please all the people all the time. CN is absolutely top notch and this coin has a crazy bright future. Him and his team brought this back from nothing and the next phase will propel it even further. I appreciate the civil discussion and I invite any comments or disagreement. This is after all the open crypto world. Cheers

As I said, after I stopped to add voice to mintpal we almost do not move there (less than 100 votes per day). I suggest a profitable exchange for votes XSI mintpal, all the information below. Hi! I would like you to consider a proposal to exchange votes for mintpal on XSI. If you want to coin rose even higher, then do not be greedy and donate XSI on XwnHdWsJvLw6G24CBNK28JH3gyRyq7fhYn and I will make an exchange for votes XSI mintpal. New offer 5XSS one vote at mintpal, which corresponds to the rate of BTC / XSI 0.00020000 Respectively, to gain 10 000 votes, we need to collect only 50 000XSI. Rates at the coin falls, I would like to not even be part of the coins went on sale on the stock exchange, and was in support of the votes at mintpal. Now mintpal 14 XSI Stability Shares 7482 and almost half of the vote is my merit. Yesterday and today I will add up to 9,000 votes and stop if you want to voice added, then list the xsi and I will change 5XSI on 1 vote.
I only propose to withdraw the coin on mintpal by the end of POW, about 02/06/2014. At this point, with my help, about 100 votes per hour added to mintpal. When the votes will be 9000, I stop adding voice and you will see how they will be slowly added further. If you later want to use my suggestion above it.
So how much XSI do you want that i send you ? To XwnHdWsJvLw6G24CBNK28JH3gyRyq7fhYn ? How can to promote coins on Mintpal. All opportunities are different, someone can send 100XSI, and someone over 10 000XSI. All coins from this purse will be exchanged for votes Mintpal 5 XSI - 1 vote. so means when i send you 100 XSI means 20 Votes für Mintpal ? YES

It's not up to us to decide what is "a lot" of money and what is not. As I said, I see CN's point of view, no doubt about that. But we cannot tell other people what is "a lot" and what is "short-term" and what is "long-term". 7 days is actually not a Long time. It can easily happen, even in the cryptoworld, to be busy otherwise if I consider my Investments "long-term" anyway and not going to check it everyday. We don't Need to discuss CN'n behaviour. I like his attitude, seriously. But we have some people that suffered financial damage. And I don't like that fact and am willing to put some shares in a fund for reimbursement. YES

People are losing sight of the fact that, actually, any $ that has been lost, was lost by the previous dev team. When CN rescued this coin it was basically worthless, so your money was already gone. CN and Bminer could've just taken the source for this dead coin, called it something new, and started over. Instead they rebranded the coin and brought it back from the dead, giving everyone a fair shake at exchanging old coins for new. People need to take a little personal responsibility here, you're invested in crypto currency, not the S&P 500, you have to check up on these things daily. It's hard to feel bad for people who admittedly didn't check this thread, the website, or Twitter for weeks on end. Weeks are like years in this world.

Ok, good point. I am new to this coin and don't know the history. I am well fware of the time units we are dealing with. Nevertheless, I am still willing to help out if someone realized a signicificant loss!

I just heard back from Poloniex regarding holding a StabilityShares giveaway on their exchange. We can start the promotion immediately.
There was no pre-mine or IPO for XSI. We have used the money from our own pockets to pay for promotions and development so far.
I have set up a wallet address, and anyone that would like to donate to the marketing and development of XSI can use the address below.
Thanks for everyone's support!

I am so impressed with the community here, if we can keep the dissension out of here it would make it a unique thread.
I especially liked DarthTrader420's comment about the loss of opportunity to exchange coins, XSS was dead and you lost nothing, I am bagholding a few coins and it's my responsibility to keep up with them, I found a MYR wallet I lost track of and didn't capitalize when it had a peak, who's fault is that, mine.
The sense of community is strong here and by itself can carry a coin a long way, combine that with active dev and a squeeky clean coin (no ipo/premine/scam) and you get a shot at a great coin, thanks to everyone here I feel privileged to be a part of this.
