Hi RoadStress, I sent you 0.1BTC and a PM on Sunday did you get it yet? Just want to make sure I've got a spot in the queue.
Cheers, Stev
Yes got it. Have you received the e-mail from Spondoolies? 6.5Th/s?? SERIOUSLY? Is that at factory default without any overclocking? Thats pretty sick if they ship at 6.5TH/s You got my attention and hopes up now!!!!
You could overclock them, but you will need better PSUs and maybe proper cooling. Not sure on that though. It seems that the SP10 can be overclocked but you need good cooling. OK cool. I was curious about the SP30. They believe it may perform as high as 6.5TH/s OUT OF THE BOX with no bigger PS or overclocking or deep freeze cooling??

Probably not "deep freeze" cooling but it does require a low ambient temperature, probably <= 20C, otherwise the firmware will reduce hashing. That's what they have said about the SP10 as well. You are not going to stick these in a hot warehouse and expect to get 6.5 TH. In the right kind of data center environment it should.

No data center, but I have fans rack mounted on the shelves they will mount in and a 220V AC unit directly above!! August is so far away now to get stuff this cool!!! Guy, you and your staff have really out done yourselves with this new SP30 and organizing the group buy. Cant say thank you enough.

I have a question
Between now and delivery what is the policy on any unforeseen price changes?
If it goes up or down will people that have pre purchased get the difference back or have to make the difference up?
Thanks,
I can't speak for Spondoolies-Tech, but here's my understanding: the pre-order price is the price you pay. There are no price changes. You might be thinking of the BTC price in $ changing... if you pay in bitcoin whatever amount of bitcoin you send is final, just the same as if you send $4,995 USD that is final. Summary: Pay $4,995 now (or $4,495.50 if you have a pre-order with another ASIC company) and get an SP30 delivered in August.

I'm not trying to rain on the parade but just look at the last 4 months of Bitcoin prices..
It's gone up and down like a yo yo and who's to say there isn't a few big investors ready to buy into the market to inflate the price up
2 months in the price jumps up to $1000 per BTC and people start saying well I spent 9BTC where as now I can get two.. They have the capability to deliver up to 700 1100 units by the end of August otherwise they wouldn't have set that target.. If these prices now can't attract the amount of volume they want to have by August then what will?
Are people in 2 months going to pay half the BTC the early adopters paid?
Just curious

You won't get 2 units delivered in August if you plan to order in 2 months. You may get them in September or October, depending on their sales.

Today is 18th June.. and the BTC price is currently $1200
As this time I can see that 500 pre orders have now been filled so there is 600 left..
How much can I get a SP30 for?

you only have a little more than 1 day until this special offer ends, so your predictions cannot be fulfilled.

Waiting for your Neptune refund? Secure your place now by sending the reservation fee and pay only 3000$ per unit when required and pay the rest after you get your refund. You will need to have proof of asking refund. That will be mandatory!
I'm a shareholder of R19, a group buy for a couple of Neptunes ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=347732.msg5993570#msg5993570), for which I own 15 shares (50 shares per Neptune). This group buy opted for a refund. Would this qualify me for the $3k/unit rate for SP30s?

It's quite clear you don't understand either my direct question or my hypothetical situation... Moving on though I still feel like this is a valid concern I would love to see one of these set up in a similar form as you would run a Kickstarter project. Sure you need capital for the start up costs but do you require the full payment of the unit so far in advance. Just very basically without breaking down the numbers you could have certain levels of investment that count towards the FINAL price of the miners .. whatever that may be You could have "minimum" levels for guaranteed orders and after that on a first come first serve basis If done correctly I think that would a lot fairer than the way it is now Today is 18th June.. and the BTC price is currently $1200
As this time I can see that 500 pre orders have now been filled so there is 600 left..

I understand it very well, but here you have an amazing special offer, and still you don't understand this is it. there are no other special terms other than those you read in the OP - and I should say, the deal is not to be scoffed at, as you seem to be doing.. there is always someone who demands 'more' or 'special terms'. you have the offer that you have, like it or lump it

Got a crystal ball? I assume there are some sales outside of the Group Buy. Also i don't think that you will have this price next sales. But let's assume that the August batch will be over then yes you will be able to fund a bit less than the cost of 2 units with September delivery for the same BTCs that you would pay now. Taking the risk of waiting for a big exchange rate is bigger than taking the risk with this pre-order in my opinion.

It was a hypothetical situation.. you can stare at any ball for those.. doesn't need to be crystal.
Don't get me wrong I wish the best and I hope it does succeed..
But if you think there is more "risk" involved than there would be to pay for a device 4 months in advance, with a currency that is highly volatile is a market that will become highly competitve Than it would be to wait it out for a few extra months and evaluate the landscape on the back of offers like these.. and I'm talking from a single customers perspective Then I would have to disagree with you on that..
I won't intrude on this thread any further though

I was saying that there is more risk because of the volatility of the exchange rate. It can just stay at around 500$ which will mean that you will buy at the end of the queue and having your miner shipped one month later. Having a miner that has fixed performance and fixed delivery time helps more than just to wait for the volatility of the exchange rate and getting the miner who knows when...(depending on your order time)
