http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/17/world/meast/mideast-crisis

The Israeli military launched a ground operation into Gaza late Thursday and called an extra 18,000 reservists into the conflict with Hamas. Prime Minister Benjamin

Did any of your engineer reservists got called into action?  How would that delay the delivery date?

To all our customers (even the unreal provocateur ones) - we're ok.
We got a lot of heartwarming emails and we wanted to thank you.

It's not an easy situation for us, but we'll manage. Rest assure that the orders will be shipped on time.

Some facts:

- Our houses and families are within range of the missiles. Most of the population are.
- Our offices are about 100 meter from Intel 22nm Fab (soon 10nm Fab), which means that we have excellent Iron Dome coverage.
- Flextronics manufacturing plant is in the far north, well outside the range of the current conflict. Shipping is done from there.
- The mandatory enlisting of reserved forces is minimal. None of our engineers and employees have been drafted.

Hi Biffa,

The quote that you put in your post was from July 9, before the ground invasion and before 18000 reservists were called.

Yesterday Israel called up 18000 reservists and today additional reservists were called in. The engineers at Spondolies tech will drop everything to serve their county once called.

Unless they are too old, 40 is the exemption age for soliders (45 for officers). As far as I am aware, to be a reservist they also have to have done national service before.

What is the purpose of this FUD? Israel has 3 million reservists, 65 thousand have been called. That is a bit over 2%. The chance this affects any Spondoolies engineers (much less the team as a whole) is pretty small, even assuming they are of military age.

the bigger danger would be the intel plant gets targeted and  sp30's get taken out.

and frankly who the f knows what those odds are?

in fact the  ups plane flight from china to the usa filled with  s-3's may have a far worse chance of crashing and burning (ups planes do crash and burn)  then a missile hitting the sp30 plant.

Just went back to their main thread and will have to dig through pages of crap to find an update...

I shot Gadi an e-mail last week and was told news was coming - so much for an e-mail...

so far the only news released was that they will still ship on time, but at different specs than previously thought.. Late July, August, and September batches are going to have the "problem" chip and there will be compensation (unknown while firmware and chips are being tested). Future October batches will be normal specs when they open.

Currently no more information on specs or shipping times, SP-Tech still performing needed testing on these chips to maximize their potential, answers in a few days.

I've messaged with Roadstress and he's doing a good job of keeping on top of the latest information coming out of Spondoolies and fighting our corner on the refund discussion.
