what is ur opionion to block time versus blockchain size and synctime

u would love a smaller chain and faster sync and accept slower blocktime?

we run now average 52sec blocktime
one of the fastest coins

but i have to say from my perspective we see not much advantage to be faster than others
beside faster raise of blockchain size and longer sync times for people who open wallet just once every 14 days

i full agree 10 min blocktime like bitcoin have is stoneage

what u think would be a good blocktime and keep in mind slower is always more slim chain and faster sync time

52 sec (like now)
100 sec
150 sec (like LTC)
300 sec
600 sec (like BTC)

I think of DMD more like an Asset or a Commodity at its current Stage.
i dont think that we need 52sec blocktime or 20mb blocks yet.
Maybe DMD should go for the Path of being a more modular, better developed XCP in the Future?
So the Core-Coin could be simply the fuel for the other stuff build on Top of DMD via sidechains or something?

At its current state i think the smallest Chain would be the best solution aswell.
So even 10 mins and as small as possible would be fine to me.

That's exactly what we have in mind when talking about the roadmap and 'services on top'.
We  very much want to see DMD Diamond becoming the fuel that powers stuff and gets utility value in the process.
Whatever the final platform will be it won't be reliant on DMD block speed.

I think 150 seconds per block is a good compromise. It's a reasonable amount of time someone would need to wait and as DMD is not exactly a consumer coin that setup would be more appropriate/reflective of true nature of this coin.

LOL good pep up Ivan.  I happen to be testing new ETH pool at moment and not many miners ... been 2 days since last payout Sad And along comes opportunity to buy DMD and no BTC on hand, spent it earlier today before the dump Sad
If u can help with testing, http://donkeypool.com needs help ...

ETH price is crashing and the difficulty is way up (along with network hashrate.  I mined 6 blocks in 3 days solo then nothing for the past 4 days.  ETH offered a good profit margin for a while but I am not happy with the mining technology or the wallet.  Both are very rudimentary compared to most other coins.  While the ETH miners are stable there are is no console control, no API and so little documentation its a joke really.  If I gave a shit I would re-write the miner with the cc/sgminer API functionality but I see no value in it if I don't stick with that coin.  The GUI wallet is also a joke. And there is no technical support.  Post even a basic question to their Bitcointalk forum and you will get no response.  I don't think they have a dev who even logs into the forum.

However, despite my venting if the difficulty comes down, I will throw some hash rate at donkeypool to help you out.

3 days 36 mins so far since last block on donkeypool, not doing well either ... I think

All alt-coin prices seem to be crashing as BTC rises

Increasing block time means less blocks per day...therefore staking difficulty will rise...therefore even harder to compete against Reactor and others with large blocks.

So small holders with <1000DMD blocks will take significantly longer to get a stake compared to now having to have their wallets open and actively staking for days before getting a hit.  Not saying it's bad not saying it's good just that it is a fact.  I think it may deter newbs with small holding, but it has been stated many times small holders are just a nuisance so likely not a consideration...

we talking about DMD 3.0
forget ur knowledge about DMD 2.x POS from now
and focus just on the blocktime part of the question
it will have no impact on POS no matter if small or big stakeholder

and small holders are valuable
to go mainstream means to have a lot small holders
we care for sure about each DMD stakeholder and try to create advantages for him

I've watched the DMD order book for the past hour (I'm temporarily on bed rest so have the time LOL), and there's definitely some sort of bot that's been gradually lowering the ask price. I finally picked up everything the bot owner was throwing at it for the time being, so the ask price has for the time being stopped coming down. I suspect that later on he or she will throw more DMD at it, and it seems the goal is to bring the price down as much as possible without selling too much. Someone here was bragging that they could get the price all the way down to .0001, so I suspect it's that person's work. In other words, the current price is artificially low. It's anyone's guess how long it will last--maybe until 10K DMD gets dumped? BIG buying opportunity. For those who are lucky enough to be watching it with BTC on hand when the price hits whatever low it's going to hit, it will be a jackpot. But I suspect the low won't last more than an hour at most as it would be too good to pass up.

I caught a few at that price. Price is back up to .00064 but it looks like the bot is back, so maybe it will go lower tomorrow if no one bites today Smiley

Edit: I should add that .00064 is still an awesome buy price!

If you spend maybe 15 minutes watching the order book while the bot is working it becomes pretty obvious which orders are the bot's--or at least which orders form the bot's first layer. Then you can pick it all up and very easily push the price back up substantially. That happened just a few minutes ago, but it wasn't all my doing. I think some others picked up DMD between .00053 and .00065.

Btw: I saw a spike to 40k sat!   Shocked wow

POW is still active for hybrid security
but rewards are close to 90% lower than before total coins 100000 ( 0.2 every 100sec instead 1.0 every 60 sec)

thx for positive feedback

to profit in a bear market u must be able buy back more coins at lower price

whoever dumped here will never be able buy back cheaper

and exact thats the way to counter pump and dump players

to disturb their pattern

Fully agreed,

it depends from the amount of coins, which offered during the dumpingprocess in every pricerange. from 64k sat to 40k sat and all coins sitting on maybe 55k. after dump, you could buy back from 40 to 55k!

So are you the one with the bot on BitTrex? If so, I'd love to understand more how it works. I suppose you drive the price down to the point where other people start selling out of panic, and then you buy *their* dumps?

I'll probably be content buying *your* dumps and trying to get in before everyone else does... because I'm not that great at calling the bottom (or the top). But it sure would be interesting to know how it works...
