Hello Mprep,

We have a new team and a new DEV for Orangecoin (OC). And WE NEED ACCESS TO OP!!!! Can you help me out with this? Can you give permissions to edit the OP at least maybe, or reset the account associated with the OP (Orangecoin) as it has not been active for almost a year now, so we can have ACCURATE INFORMATION ABOUT OUR PRODUCT Please?! Any information or point in the right direction would be GREAT and VERY Helpful!

Thanks in advance!

Expansion has commenced!

Great work Guys! Now moving forward, People are right we should convert the Weebly to a domain hosted site. Or we could have a kind soul host one for us. If i recall the old site had a forum which was great for information. but People will still check here as well for information (BTCTALK). Also we should focus as a group if we're deciding to give up on Theymos and start a new OP with ACCURATE INFORMATION (You guys know I am a nut when it comes to this.)

@Halo Didn't you say we had some invites to do interviews with some cryptonews peoples.? LETS GET ON THIS!

Cheers and Good Morning!

-Raven

One was a radio interview which I don't have a microphone and I felt I'm not the person to do it -- which is why I addressed the community about this if someone else wanted to do it. I'm awesome behind a keyboard when I can think of what to say, but put me on the spot, and I bumble my words. If it was scripted, then I'd do it, but I still don't have a microphone.

The other was an invite to another "btctalk" or "cryptoccointalk" forum, which leads me into my next thought:

From raven's quote above:
Quote
If i recall the old site had a forum which was great for information.
Yes it did have a forum, but because the original dev didn't set up his hosting correct enough to allow email registration, spam was inevitable and a full time job to keep up on it. I was admin from the level of the forum and anything built downstream from there, but not the website itself.
Weebly does offer other things like forums and blogs, but thinking it was a temporary site, what was the point?

Yeah, I don't have a microphone either.... it would get me in trouble... Haha.

But I don't see why we should ditch weebly, it's use by various other social media outlets for sites and services. It could use a little more organization and view able on a mobile device, meaning it should work both in landscape and portrait views and not have anything cut off... (this is what I experience on my phone, as you all know that I am usually on point when you guys post and quick to answer.)

But for some of the projects I have created for my self I am creating a style sheet for our reddit page. I have reached out to cryptoblox today as well. Awaiting response.. I can usually get people to answer me in the time frame of about a day.

As for development..... what are our plans? What's in the works? What is NOT in the works? This is the only answer I have not gotten.....

Number one should be the updated OP we need to work on this quickly.... Either Fork this thread into another continuance of an OC ANN, or deal with the backlash of Improper Inaccurate Information (The three I's, I don't like together) and broken links. People are getting interested in OC again, so we need to do something ASAP before it gets Outta Control! (HA, Love word play)

Cheers!

-Raven

I didn't want to put in a lot of effort into the weebly site if we were just going to get a hosted site. My intentions were never to take it down even when we got a real site, because of the hosting problems people encounter. It's best to have a back-up site which I'd keep updated along with whoever made and updated the "real" site.

As far as development, well, only one person can answer that. I'm kept in the dark as well.

If we want to make the new OP, let's do it unless someone says to wait, again. I'd rather see the new ANN get more posts than this one, but that's just for statistics purposes. If someone else jumps the gun, I suggest reserving the second post for things like a timeline or whatever else.

Depending on your next correspondence from mprep, you might want to point out I have requested the same from theymos, but haven't heard anything. I know mprep could add a "moved thread: follow link here" to the top of the OP here and lock this thread, but other than that, idk what mprep could do for us except get on theymos.

Actually, I'll drop mprep a PM as well to help you out, with the two PM's I've sent to theymos.

Thank you Halo,

Then can you start to draw up an OP just in case say in Word or something, so if we do make the executive decision to move to a new OP we'll have ammo to fire with. I would host the site personally but looks like a lot of the Orangecoin domains are for sale or have been bought up. What do you think Guys? #LetsKEEPTHISROLLING!

Also I am trying to get some advertisement going for Orangecoin and maybe host on Startpeeps.com for revenue sharing........ OUUUUUUU!

Here ya go:

Hello mprep,

I've been trying to contact theymos about the OP for our Orangecoin thread and have not heard anything. Another community member (Raven7886) has contacted you to see what you can do for us. I would like to add some substance to his message to show we are serious about this, and what direction we should take. Here are the following PM's I've sent to theymos, which contain our OC history, and mine.

First PM:

Hello Theymos,

I know you are a busy person, I'll keep this short and sweet as possible.

Orangecoin thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=581894.0
OP account of thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=319690

Basically, our dev disappeared one year ago in July, 2014. Scammed. Our coin was able to perform fine without creating a new thread for the last year, but now we have updates and different client versions we need to post in the OP.

I have been with orangecoin since April 28th, 2014, page 12. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=581894.msg6432740#msg6432740.
I have been very active posting and became the community liason and the community "glue" which I feel is the reason OC is still alive today. I have been the treasurer of our development fund since July of 2014 (I can provide the first tx in the fund if needed as proof), and provider of our new website orangecoin.weebly.com. I was appointed the position of admin of our old forum by "OC dev" himself in May 2014, but hosting went down a long time ago for that forum/website. The last known whereabouts of OCdev was around August 10th, 2014 at github. So it's been a year with no signs of life.

Character References from the forum posts from around 1 year ago: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=581894.msg7150581#msg7150581

soopy452000 (NAV dev): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=158610
More references available upon request.

So my question for you: Is it possible to give me access to the OP account or should I make a new OP? We would rather keep the old thread alive than start a new thread.

Thank you very much for your time.

Cheers,
-Halofire

Second PM:

Hello Theymos,

Wondering if you have you considered my request? Drop by the OC thread and ask around about me if you'd like.  We would like to provide updated links and info to our community, it is a necessity.

If you would rather I (or the OC community) start a new thread versus giving me access to the OP account, just let me know. Please and thank you. Smiley

Cheers,
-Halofire

Thank you for taking the moment to look this over.

Cheers,
-Halofire

As far as the new OP, I have the old OP updated and ready to go, I had a copy of the OP I was in charge of from orangecoins.info's forum. It will look the same as the current one as far as layout and colors sans dead links, and everything is updated. All of the info I've pulled for the weebly site has come from the OP I have.

I'll continue to update the weebly site in my spare time, I have more I can add. I can even putz around with the forum they provide and the main thing: how to prevent SPAM, but I'll have to devote some hours into watching youtube videos about weebly's forums and see what it's all about. I already knew about all the OC domains being taken, this was the case over a year ago as well, I'm surprised these domains are still being funded. I'm not serious about buying one from someone who decided to try and "domain-shark" us into a corner. Someone wanted 4 btc for our orangecoin IRC, so that's why our IRC room label is orangecoindev. Screw that, we are smarter than the one person who thinks they are smart to buy up all of our OC domains and labels. Who's shelling out money to keep the monopoly on OC and countless other coins? Not us.... Wink

If you haven't heard of startpeeps.com i'd head there and sign up.

here's my referal link:

But here's the message i have posted in there:

Quote
Hello Startpeeps! I know this site is mainly for START but I would like to try and spread the word about #Orangecoin!

I have a new Team and Dev, we have been working on Orangecoin behind the scenes for a few weeks now, and in the process we have reacquired the Reddit /r/Orangecoin, New wallet Version 1.0.9 with checkpoints in the chain (currently working on more functions).

Orangecoin is a 100% Proof of Stake coin, as it is more than a year old with 283K blocks of transaction history. I am trying to again to reiterate spread the word about Orangecoin (OC)
We are traded only as of now on Bittrex:

https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-OC Here are a few links to check us out and Thank you in advance, as we in three short weeks have accomplished and overcame many many feats:

BTCTalk ANN OP: (To be reacquired and updated with the most accurate information (In the works))
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=581894.0 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Feel free to stop in and do some light reading.

Reddit: (Please subscribe!)
https://reddit.com/r/Orangecoin Chain explorer/Market Infomation: (Look at the time frame when we got a hold of OC! We are serious)

Chain Explorer: (Very useful information)
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/oc/ Market cap Info:
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/OrangeCoin/ If you have any questions FEEL FREE TO ASK!

I was always told the dumbest question is the one NOT asked, and the worst thing they can say is "NO."

I forget what was done in what versions, was too many released in a short time but here's the gist.

checkpoints were added in 1.0.5 along with seed nodes. error message from 1.0.4 was addressed about old checkpoints.
1.0.6 ?? slow syncing was attempted to be fixed, I think that was for 1.0.6. Not sure. Didn't work anyway.
1.0.7 ??
1.0.8 and 1.0.9 was the stuck block problem from the yearly block height(count) of block 262799 into 262800. Something was wrong with 1.0.8, so 1.0.9 was released like 15-30? minutes later.

Soopy would be the one to write about this in more detail, but I can look them up later. I haven't been keeping track of all the releases and what they entailed, I was leaving it as a to-do when I made the new OP as part of the timeline. I have an idea where all of the releases are on what pages, but I am going to be leaving my apartment soon.

My to-do in order of:
look up wallet releases
double check PoS payout % when fund stakes
work on website; including forum research for the website
create OP/timeline when time is right

Things I'm delgating, PM me or publicly post for details:
Supernet radio interview

Anything else I should be doing?

Great list:

My to-do follows:

-Keep up with trending information in regards to OC (Here to post on Reddit & Twitter: @rfarrow7886)
-Keep trying to reacquire original OC accounts and update as necessary
-Make sure "coinwatch sites" are up to date with new sites and links (I have updated 2-3)
-Find advertisement for OC (IN the talks as I type this)

If I can provide another hand with something let me know team!

Cheers!

Keep up the great work we are all doing!
