Can I import an  old private key into mymonero web wallet?

In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. details https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme --- https://tehnoetic.com/laptops --- https://store.vikings.net/x200-ryf-certfied

I do not believe this is possible. You will probably need to run simplewallet with the argument --restore-deterministic-wallet

*edit* Can someone explain: How do you spend funds from a spend key with simplewalet if all you have is the spend key and nothing else?

It's a feedback loop of community interest compounding more community interest (you may know something about that, its probably why you are here asking this question). Sometimes referred to as a "virtuous cycle". It was set in motion by several darknet services announcing their intention to accept/provide services for monero.

I'd like to know also, I got some old original wallets from May 2014 - how do I update those to latest version wallets with full seed phrase and/or cold wallets. How do you get private keys from the key file?

https://mymonero.com/  ever compromised?
I deposited  more than 10K xmr on mymonero last year, I forgot the last time I logged-in my wallet, it's been a long time.
but today,  I logged-in and found all xmr was stolen on yesterday,
I have no idea how the hacker steal my xmr...
Any advice for me?

Its probably not stolen. You just need to request for the server to re-scan the blockchain. You have to pay because its resource intensive. But its cheap.

First fund your account with a couple of monero. Then click on "account" at the top. Next click "import transactions".

If I just put your heart back in your chest. I accept donations. Grin

i dont understand, there is a txid showes the xmr moved out

well... thats... very strange...

how did you store your private key? are you on a windows machine? did you ever access mymonero through a hyperlink?

in txt encrypted by openssl on macbook,
i visit mymonero carefully everytime, should not have visited a fake site

I installed a antivirus sophos last night, scanned hours, No malware Found,
I know this does not mean my PC is not compromised,
I wonder, is there anyone deposited big amount XMR on mymonero, and the fund still safe ?

Thanks for the reply.

It looks like anonymity is the important factor. Has Monero perfected it?

Antivirus wouldn't detect rootkits or any sort of APT, and you can bet that any malware already on the computer would hide from an antivirus scanner. In addition, if the keys were compromised months or years ago it's entirely possible the malware no longer exists on that computer.

I have several MyMonero honeypot accounts that have (fake) balances of varying size in them, and I play fast and loose with the logins in order to catch any compromises.

Hi,
I have some problems with a mymonero wallet.
To see my transactions I have to send 10XMR to a certain account with a certain command.
Sending from an exchange I nowhere see the option to put in the command. So, I just transferred the 10XMR using the address and TXid.
But as I was afraid of nothing happening.
Can someone tell me how to get this fixed and be able to send 10XMR with right command?
Thanks for helping

I wanted to come and congratulate you folks on passing us in the Coinmarketcap rankings. I hope you all enjoy your profits, and I relish Dash's new position as underdogs trying to overtake yet another currency standing between us and the top. I always enjoyed a challenge!

Cheers and respect,

Tao.

Make sure you are still on the same OS as where the wallet was created in 2014. If you are on the same OS, you can simply download the new simplewallet version and the wallet will automatically upgrade. After that, you can extract your viewkey and spendkey with the "viewkey" and "spendkey" command. However, given that those wallets are non deterministic, you won't be able to get a seed. If you want a wallet with a seed, you should create a new wallet and send the funds to the new wallet.

@xxxgoodgirls: importing a spendkey into MyMonero isn't possible, as far as I know. You could try to login with your public address, viewkey, and spendkey. That might work.

@anon136: currently (newer wallets) the viewkey is derived from the spendkey. Thus, if you only have the spendkey, you can derive the viewkey and subsequently use "--restore-from-keys". However, if you have an early wallet (which is non deterministic), the viewkey and spendkey are independent of eachother.

Now I tried to download a lightwallet at  https://getmonero.org/getting-started/choose
I filled in all fields and when I choose "create" nothing happens.
Maybe someone can advice me on this.

Thank you for your response. I managed to transfer XMRs despite not having full synced my client (thought it was a requirement). I really don't know why but bitmonerod lags as hell my laptop as it is taking more than 3 hours and have not finished yet to complete 25 days of historical.

Do you have an HDD or an SSD? If it is the former it may explain the scenario you're experiencing.
