Something like 2/3 of all my withdrawals from poloniex are failing. Support doesn't seem to offer much help other than "try a smaller amount". It's an intermittent issue, in that sometimes a withdrawal of a given amount will work, and sometimes it won't. Just wondering if the Monero devs are working with Poloniex on this?

Yes, see issues on monero-project

Why is this coin such a low price at the moment?

And new hypothesis is here:
Whales and manipulators force you to sell your coins to them at low rate. They keep low prices especially for you.
There is a big place to grow Monero itself: GUI wallet, appearing on new exchanges, good development roadmap. So, they know what to do and do it.

Remember guys the future battle isn't between some scam coin (XC, Dark) or even a real coin like Litecoin, but the battle will be between the great four (as I have came to call them).

Bitcoin.
Ethereum.
Nxt.
Monero.

I'm still on the lookout for anything else to add to this list.

I agree with you for the most part except that I'd consider LTC to be one of the biggest scam coins of them all. Just because it got big does not mean it wasn't a scam.

But since it isn't on your list (or mine), I guess it doesn't much matter any more.

Define "scam".

What do you believe makes Litecoin is/was a "scam"?

Litecoin = Scam because:
100.000 broken promises, 1.000.000 outright lies about other coins, 100.000.000 lies and false info about litecoin features/plans/reachable goals
0 development, most vicious and closed-minded community of all coins,
worst distribution than bitcoin (there are 2 address with more then 3.000.000 litecoins + there are additonal more then 14 addresses with over 100.000 litecoins ...)

Monerocoin.com for sale unless the Litecoin guys wanna get it first.

thats a pretty useless ass domain name...the name of the currency is thankfully Monero which actually sounds like a real currency, not Monerocoin.

monero.com, monero.org, monero.net monero. de, monero.au, monero.us, those domain names are worth a hefty penny, but not monerocoin.com lmao.

1. What 100,000 broken promises? Links?

2. 1,000,000 outright lies? Where? Links?

3. 100,000,000 lies and false info? More lies? I thought you said 1 million lies? LOL!!  Links?

4. 0 development? Links?

5. Vicious and closed-minded community? Links?

6. Distribution of coins lol...those two addresses did not have 3,000,000 LTC each only until the past what...year? LTC is 3 years old so looks like whoever got those bought them or mined them over a long long time.

You sound really butt hurt that you missed the LTC train purely based on your statements.

Distribution argument is retarded as it wasn't like that from day 1. Meaning it wasn't mined at 0 cost for the two largest addresses. Trust me I was around when it launched with CPU mining. Nowhere were there 6 million LTC insta-mined. Looks like you are uninformed.

You provided ZERO links and zero evidence that proves Litecoin is a scam.

Here you go:

scam
skam/
nouninformal
1.
a dishonest scheme; a fraud.
"an insurance scam"
synonyms:   fraud, swindle, fraudulent scheme, racket, trick; More
verb

1.
swindle.
"a guy that scams the elderly out of their savings"

On a serious note:

I am reading through the white paper and am so far impressed with the complexity of the method to obscure identity association with a transaction. Very cool.

Let's leave the "XXXcoin is a scam" comments for the children okay? Especially when there is no evidence to back up the claim based on the pure definition of what a "scam" really is.

I could call Monero a scam, but I would sound like an idiot as I have no basis to call it that and no proof.

Now you get it. The words "fraud" and "scam" (+ "pump & dump") totally lost their meaning, because everybody is calling every coin they dont like - in every posting they make - with (fake) reasoning or not these names.

I know where and which older CC community started this, but I wont say it out loud. :-)

It should be forbidden anyway, to talk about other coins in an thread that is specific about CoinXY.
It's offtopic and bullshit anyway (no content, just kiddy talk & FUDing).

Can n be bigger than 99?

Quote
Bob can choose the ambiguity degree on his own: n = 1 means that the probability he has spent the output is 50% probability, n = 99 gives 1%. The size of the resulting signature increases linearly as O(n + 1), so the improved anonymity costs to Bob extra transaction fees. He also can set n = 0 and make his ring signature to consist of only one element, however this will instantly reveal him as a spender.

But seriously, why?

I'm thinking of investing, looks like a hidden gem so far and could explode once added to Mintpal, but I need to understand what's happening first. The dev/OP has only 16 messages, is he still around, I see that last github commit was 14 days ago and activity seems kinda low? 278 pages for a coin released on Apr 25th is a bit low, is discussion happening elsewhere?

^They will keep an eye on it a few months before adding it. I suppose they don't want to do the additional work involved to implement it in their exchange, because of the fact it's not a bitcoin clone. They could add it tomorrow or never, but I suppose they'll add it in a month.
