The hashrate was not always at a constant 2% of the network, so you can't estimate it this way.

It was reasonably close. I know how to estimate hash rate. Whatever it was, getting zero blocks during that time period without there being a problem was unlikely.
Your pool is not along in having issues with underperformance, so I not trying to single you out, just relaying my experience. There are definitely some software and/or deployment issues that need to be worked out with these pools.

True, there is always a process that crash or get stuck. The pool software really need improvement.

(We did a fix recently on our pool http://monero.crypto-pool.fr/ and it works great. Less orphan and more blocks)

this is not the right thread most likely. But is there a walk through on how to set up a pool. I have a server and stable internet and would like to direct it to pool set up. I do not know much about severs or pools.
a valid concern would be:  these are other peoples money and must be kept safe and secure. I agree with this and would not expose someone to risk unless I felt comfortable in the end after learning about it and learning about server maintenance. if it is daunting and more like a neurosurgeon building a rocket ship then most likely I will not dabble in this.

I downloaded cpuminer-multi-wolf-05-29-2014, when I clicked minerd nothing comes in dos screen and it disappears. What should I do?

In Windows:
Make a .txt file in the same folder as minerd.exe, put the command you mention in there, and then rename it to mining.bat (not txt extension).
Click on this and the mining begins.

Thank you, I did .bat file but this time when I click it says minerd.exe has stopped working. (win7 64 bit, I downloaded correct programs) What could be the problem?

Most probably your CPU doesn't support AES-NI instruction set.Try using cpu miner 1.0.3 from Lucas which is a bit slower but supports all x64 processors.

Thanks for answer. I have core 2 duo processor, my pc is very old but I want to mine this. I tried Wolf miner, cryptonote's own wallet miner, both failed. I searched cpu miner 1.0.3 but I can't find it. Can you show me where to find it?

well. it is behind a firewall in a medicl practice. the server has the hippa requirements for patient information security. I do not know if that means anything. the server itself does not have patient records, because the patient files have been cleared from the server. the server has the legacy firewals and security from when it was used a a patient database.

I do not know how secure this is and what is necesary but i am willing to learn.

There is no end to the learning of security practice.  It really is a domain for full-time dedicated professionals.  The best single measure you can take is to insure that keys to wallets which contain amounts of coins in excess of what you are willing to cover out of pocket as a risk of doing business are not stored on that machine (nor any machine accessible from it).  After you take that measure, then you can sleep soundly, and any further security practices are beneficial but of diminishing returns.

Use half of the cores in AES-NI optimized processor, because AES-NI is not hyper threaded (intel, I'm not sure how many you should use on amd). Also try this faster AES-NI optimized miner: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=619373.0 (will crash on non-aes-ni processor if you don't build it on your own).

Hi Guys, been following this thread and mining for about a week now. I am using the wolf-multi may 29th releae and I have and i7 4700k. I beleive that I do indeed have the AES-NI on my chip and have tried using 8 threads, 7 threads, 6 threads and now 4 threads using information in this thread however the best results are still with 8 or 7 threads. SO, I am probbaly doing somehting wrong or the code isnt optimized for my machine (hardware, software config) here is a full rundown for information for others in the same boat.

Wolf-Multi CPU may 29th 2014 release
Intel i7 4770k with NO overclock on BOIS

Windows 7 64bit Ultimate
16GB RAM 1600MHZ on profile 1 (Through BOIS)

Hashrate in H/s
Hashrate at 8 threads - 145 - 160
Hashrate at 6 threads - 171 to 202
Hashrate at 4 threads - 174 to 189

^On your machine for 8 cores you are getting about 20% increase in hash rate compared to 4 cores, but about twice increase in the electricity used (100%). On my machine it's about 7-10% faster with 8 cores compared to 4, so I'm currently mining with 4.

Good call I never thought to check power. I have a watt meter so I can measure at the wall to see whats going on. Just have to find the meter now lol......
