I held XMR but sold - I cant stress enough how this coin is not ready for mainstream. Reliability / Command line driven and lack of infrastructure will drag the price down further..
Yes the anonymity is good but the underlying solution is too complex to use and under-developed. Give it another 6-12 months yes maybe, but as it stands the solution is not viable.

I agree. Monero is Too Technical: trade price will be affected without a simpler wallet.Forum Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.msg7478215#msg7478215

My withdrawal issue of 9 hours ago was due to Poloniex not Monero.
The withdrawal has been credited back to my account.

Bittrex can not ask payment_id and i try send to mintpal 238 XMR and lost Please help. Realize that many exchanges are using 1 address for all deposits. The only distinguishing factor is the payment id. There have been tons of warnings saying do not forget to add payment id. Your next step is to contact Mintpal directly, I am sure they dealt with this a few times already. Also keep the tx info to yourself, because someone else can go to Mintpal and say it was them.

Bittrex can not ask payment_id and i try send to mintpal 238 XMR and lost Please help. In the past Poloniex and Bittrex support tended to be quite helpful when ppl made this sort of error, if you provide Mintpal support with all the tx info they should be able to refund you. But really? You were transferring over 1btc worth of XMR to Mintpal and you didnt bother reading the instruction which says "you must have a payment ID"!! I know Monero isnt at the Apple level of user friendliness and intuitive design but it has a helpful community, if you're not sure what you are doing then do a bit more research or ask someone... EDIT: removed the txid from quote, really you dont want to share that at the moment, welcome to a really anonymous currency

Currently donating all of our 1% pool fee to the dev fund - mine at CryptonotepoolUK and support XMR at no extra cost!

Was no one else who is posting over the last week or so paying attention during the original run? Monero got a high market cap after darkcoin blew up because it has attractive anonymity components. Then people decided it wasn't practical due to block chain bloat, etc. The price fell like 75%.
Then somehow people forgot or ignored everything that was decided during the first round and it went way up again. I read probably the majority of posts after the last several weeks and no one talks about those original problems.
If you think those underlying issues will get fixed (by Monero vs. another cryptonote coin), it's a pretty awesome investment. If you have no idea what I'm talking about I probably would be more careful with your money.
