we can be in 4th place in an hour if we wanted to.

bitcoin is down to $580 today. I just sent another 0.01BTC

so far i've sent   0.12BTC there

where are the other peeps that were excited about JPC

I followed your example and sent another BTC0.05 to take the 5th place. (https://blockchain.info/tx/3cb748d2e37cbe42b3c5eb9916b031f7157ee7a41885b9fcd4a854bde1bae0da)
anyone wanna join me so we can go for 4th place? Smiley

This was my 5th or 6th transaction, this proves how much I believe in this coin Wink

thank you, I've spent $80 on votes and have no regrets. I have 8 million JPC and will at least $5,000 when i sell

WHERE IS EVERYONE ELSE

Wait, 8 mil barely makes $2000 at current price, seems like you have really high hopes?

You seem too sure, I personally believe that it depends on how well trading is going on in the market, today the price has been mostly stable.

I haven't been getting any payouts from hashharder for a few hrs now, not sure what's up with that.

Actually Hash@Me is at an aggregate 89.23% of estimate for shares in the last hour. By my maths, JPC is still profitable.

Yes, 135% for 24hr, but based on blocks found it works out about 0.0018BTC/MH/day at 50sats. Not bad if you ask me, and if the JPC price goes to 100sat+ it'll be very profitable.

I'm a miner. It's because we spent a lot of money on hardware that we are paranoid we will never ROI on. Wink

That said, I honestly think JPC will miners a good return if mined at the moment.

Sorry, you guys had your day with scrypt. These days you gotta go green (nvidia) to earn the green (money) :p

That being said, the high end maxwells are delayed till early 2015 at best it seems. 750ti's will be relevant for quite a while.

If you don't want new hardware, try checking new algorithms. AMD had x13 for weeks before nvidia, and you guys could have made a killing renting hash on nicehash, or going for an instamine on x13 coins.

Anyone have any idea why I don't get POS generation with JPC? I have coins that have been sitting in my wallet since at least 4 days ago, my wallet has been open basically 24 hours a day, and is unlocked.
I've typed getnostake into the debug window and it returns "false" (which I assume is correct).

I haven't gone to any drastic measures such as redownloading the blockchain (yet).

i have staked this coin when it came out and more recently..
when i did it recently it took about a week *almost.
you should start seeing something soon i think.

don't waste your time redownloading the block chain it won't do any good.

It is what is it ..with out explaining why Wink

your *almost there, you should start something pretty quick  Grin

The reason JPC price is so struggle is because that there were several hacking activities in Korean JackpotCoin community.

The first one was the big dump of almost 100M stolen coins a few days ago. This hacker stole not only JackPotCoin but also took almost USD $150,000 worth of DarkCoin, MaxCoin, DogeCoin, etc...  This case has been officially reported to the Korean police department specialized in internet crimes. He can not speak English very well, so I posted about his loss here instead of him.

But this was not the end of story.

One day later, about 6-7 desktop wallets were hacked and about total 60M JPC loss were reported.
Fortunately the hacker confessed this activity, and sent coins back to the owners a day later. However he argued the first attack ($150,000) was not done by him.
It was a really  movie-like  drama.

During this drama, a lot of investors of JPC got so scared and thought it might be JackPotCoin's internal bug.

However it turned out it was not a JackPotCoin's bug. It was a misconfigured  jackpotcoin.conf file and broken firewalls of hacked computers.

The hacker searched peer network nodes, and check the open RPC port.
Once he found the open port, he sent a RPC command to transfer coins.

So to prevent this kind of hacking, I suggest to disable the wallet's RPC server completely.
Most of normal users don't need this RPC api and it does not influence POS mining either.

Here is my suggested conf.

=====================
listen=1
daemon=1
logtimestamps=1
maxconnections=100
addnode=90.155.222.162
addnode=66.176.62.63
addnode=93.233.79.195
addnode=98.193.2.154
addnode=5.250.177.28
addnode=24.13.164.246
addnode=74.90.54.187
addnode=76.168.111.3
addnode=110.255.149.5
addnode=85.102.226.187
addnode=46.39.240.53
addnode=154.20.19.46
addnode=186.59.181.76
addnode=74.33.230.204
addnode=107.202.133.56
addnode=75.150.145.65
========================

After changing your conf file, restart your wallet.
Set up a password, and unlock your wallet.
After at least 24 hours (maybe it takes up to few weeks), your wallet will start mining.
Make sure your wallet works like this,

After this, you can confirm your RPC server does not work by typing this on your web browser,
http://127.0.0.1:15372

You should see the connection failed like this image,

Now, your wallet is safe to any RPC attack even from your local computer.

However there may be  a lot of different hacking methods, so you need to make sure your computer's security regularly.

One of the import things, check if your computer have any open ports to internet by using this sites.

http://mxtoolbox.com/PortScan.aspx
http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/port-scan/

Don't use RDP, Team Viewer, VNC, HTTP and other popular web services on your wallet computer.

===============

I think once our community regain the confidence on JackPotCoin's security, the price will go up very soon.
So it is another really good timing to get the cheap JPCs now.

Thanks for the additional info on the hacking case.
I wanted to add that the RPC data you said people should remove from their conf files (*if it exists)
is REQUIRED to solo mine with your wallet.
And in one part of what i quoted you said people should start mining after a while
and i think the term staking is what you meant..

So the quote shows how to stake not mine. (these are two different things)
If your not SOLO mining then you don't need the RPC stuff..
If you use a CPU or GPU miner to solo mine then you need RPC access to connect to for solo mining.

I am curious what the guy(s) hacked was using Linux with no Firewalls ? Windows ? Mac ?

and i agree with you when you said..

Quote
So it is another really good timing to get the cheap JPCs now.

I mentioned a few pages back the Jackpot coin Faucet i have a link to in my sig all the time was empty Sad
I see now someone filled it back up again Smiley

So you can go there and get a few JPC's to get started with new guys.
No strings attached.. it's a faucet with NO email requirement or anything. (just put in your JPC address and hit enter)
I really like these as a gateway to get new crypto users involved and a great way to do some advertising etc.

Jackpotcoin Faucet

i am only CPU mining on this coin now for a while so i am checking on the facuet occasionally to see if its still working
plus i need the super small amounts of coins lol
With the difficulty over time getting higher and higher my earnings have been slippin Sad

Right now i am mining like 1 or 2 payments of 500 coins per 24 hrs.
BUT i am still supporting this coin and i hope to pick up a gpu or two soon to put back on JPC mining.

I drool looking at my wallet transaction history now lol
I got 14 blocks solo mining way back when JPC started for 100k each with a Radeon 7950 hahha
