Good news people!

A new dev is going to work on the coin, ensure maintenance and add new features. It's not 100% official yet but should be confirmed in the coming hours/days.
Also we will be working on a new promotional plan and potentially new services.

Edit: people who promised to give some coins (I think it was about 50 million), be prepared to keep your promises!

Is one of the items updating the wallet?  I am still having issues where it will not stake.

Also is there a master list of people who pledged? I can't remember if I did or not it's been so long. I guess that is what happens when you get old.

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

Wonderful news. Very happy to keep my promise (30,000,000 JPC).

And I will add 50,000,000 JPC bounty if there will be new dev works fine after 1 year.

The lists started from page 337.

Is a new dev not taking over the coin anymore?

1.5 is fine, it just uses a bit more cpu to stake coins than previous build and it seems some people have had problems getting connections.  I have never had any issues with it, but I'm guessing other people may have antivirus, firewalls, or other stuff affecting it as well.

I am having issues with both. They sync fine but I have only had 4 stakes since Dec 18th. One on that day and three on Jan 1st.

I completely redownloaded 1.5 on another rig and let it resync, otok days. After it was done I copied my wallet .dat from the old computer to the second and same problem.

Interesting.  How many coins do you have in it and how long does it estimate before staking?  I get them all the time but I think there are more people holding JPC in their wallets because a lot more stakes are orphans than in the old days.

If you don't have anything going on with your router or computer, I'm not sure why that would be doing that.  You could always copy it to a laptop and try a friend's internet or connect to a neighbors internet or something and see if it's different?  I haven't had any problems on my older macbook pro, my desktop, my friend's desktop, or the other 3 computers I've had it on this last year so I find it hard to believe it's wallet related.  I would guess maybe location or ISP related possibly, but that will take some digging to find out what's going on.  I remember someone else said their ISP did have some sort of restriction or filtering that interfered with another wallet getting proper connections, but don't know if anyone had that problem on JPC.

Well, the only option left is that you have only few active connections. I noticed that you need at least six for frequent staking.
Here are some nodes which should give you at least 12 connections:

addnode=90.155.222.162
addnode=74.208.234.18
addnode=219.194.178.90
addnode=85.241.196.165
addnode=188.78.66.111
addnode=96.27.101.117
addnode=2.27.246.124
addnode=69.123.197.209
addnode=66.176.62.63
addnode=93.233.79.195
addnode=98.193.2.154
addnode=5.250.177.28
addnode=24.13.164.246
addnode=74.90.54.187
addnode=76.168.111.3
addnode=110.255.149.5
addnode=85.102.226.187
addnode=46.39.240.53
addnode=154.20.19.46
addnode=186.59.181.76
addnode=74.33.230.204
addnode=107.202.133.56
addnode=75.150.145.65

hope this helps

Hi folks!

So the next version should bring an IRC feature inside the wallet as well as a block explorer. It also should fix the freezes experienced since V1.5.

Sounds good.  I'm guessing you're the new dev and have taken control of this account then? Or you still the same guy?

Anyways, if you are the new guy, welcome!  In case you weren't aware, we have this block explorer which tracks jackpot winners, richlist, and stuff like that, but integrating some of that into the wallet I think would be a welcome thing as well. http://explorer.jpcpal.com/

I'm the same person, the dev works behind the scene, because he wishes to remain anonymous.

With the release of 1.6, I'll be doing one or more giveaways. Also note that we are offering new bounties for new games (1 Million JPC for each new game).

And we have some plans to give JPC more usage, but it's too early mention them. That will take some time.

Any time frame on a new wallet.

I have tried everything to get this thing to stake and no luck.

Tried the nodes posted above no staking.

Tried completely redownloading the blockchain on a different computer and no luck.

The issue I believe is with my wallet .dat. I say that because after the resync to a new computer and then I add my wallet .dat is when the problems exist. Now my wallet gets the "Not Responding" message everytime I click it and it stays that way for up to 5 minutes.

I even tried the --reindex through the command but nothing.

EDIT: I basically have a wallet with a bunch of coins that I can't do nothing with.

Edit II: So I took the wallet .dat out of the appdata folder and the wallet works fine. Put it back in and I get the errors again.

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

@antonio8

How many coins do you have in the wallet?

Also try 'repairwallet' in the console...

Yes you can. Start fresh wallet and when it is at full sync, transfer all coins in old wallet to that new address...

...and happy staking.

Sorry if I'm missing something here, but the original dev has walked, a new dev has stepped up to the plate, and a new wallet will be released soon, is that correct?

Is there any kind of plans documented anywhere of what the new dev plans to do with JPC?

That's right! As for the release date, it should be at the end of the month, or at the start of February.

For new plans and features, we're still contemplating what's best to do and how to give more value to the coin. What is sure is that JackpotCoin's maintenance will be ensured now.
