The Dev should post the database online for download. It will keep people happy until a fix for the bloat occurs.
Here is the database (blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat) synced till 2015-02-27: http://p.pw/baeysL (~1.6Gb zip) Hope it will help especially new users to quickly sync the wallet. Because now it takes forever to sync the wallet from zero... yeah... lets breach p2p block chain protection and let everyone to download the modified one anyhow, lightweight client would make sense, just like it does for BTC, it would attract more ppl to JPC. EDIT: i had to recover my client from November last year and it took 4 days to sync the last 3 months, that is crazy... i would not go for JPC as a new user if i had to wait like two weeks to make my client fully synced.

yeah... lets breach p2p block chain protection and let everyone to download the modified one 1. I didn't modify the database (block chain) in any way 2. That scenario can be made by anyone, and no need to download the modified block chain from anywhere. But in any way if 2-3 people would start client with modified blockchain - it would not change anything, because another 30 or more people would have the correct cain, so modified chain would be just ignored. You need an army of computers to fork a block chain that way. 3. I'm not saying that that way downloading the block chain is correct - just it took me about 3-4 days on my pc (Q6600) to sync one month data! And that is long. anyhow, lightweight client would make sense, just like it does for BTC, it would attract more ppl to JPC.
Agree with you. We definitely need a lightweight client.

Yeah it takes hours just to sync one or two days, every time you start it. :-/

The quickest way for now is to use v 1.4 and sync with that. Then shut it down and start 1.6. Turns hours into minutes and days into hours.

From Bittrex This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on March 13th unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.2 BTC.

Versions 1.4.0.0 and 1.5.0.0/1.6.0.0 syncs just as slow for me, just that the 1.4.0.0 is a bit more responsive at times. On an older Laptop (Intel Pentium M 2 GB RAM) the v1.6.0.0 wallet syncs 100 blocks in 146 - 148 seconds. So to sync JPC from scratch would take 33 days and 9 hours, ca.

It may be removed on March 13th unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.2 BTC. Very soon there will be Custom Block Chains enabled on Crypti (XCR) where you can write smart contracts. The smart contracts can be for trading altcoins as well as a thousand other things. Crypti is months ahead of Ethereum on this. SO when Bittrex drops JPC, just hold your JPC for a few weeks, and you will be able to trade JPC outside of any established exchange.

BURST / Burstcoin is already there and ahead of the curve with respect to every other coin. It has Smart Contracts, Automated Transactions, and embedded Crowdfunding into the blockchain. Very successful community and coin. Low market cap too. Great investment. There probably exists opportunity for other coins to ride its coattails. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=731923.0

lol... another dev for another donations to push the price even lover? all the donations for 1.6 were quickly sold for BTC. that is how trust in coin you develop looks like? man... we have now the same buggy client with fancy useless features and price back on 3sat. lets bring new dev to create new buggy client v1.7 and push the price to 1sat before the only working exchange removes it from market. how sad...

Hello Just to follow up again with this community, FoldingCoin could help move this coin over to counterparty which is an already 100% secured protocol that is backed by the Bitcoin Miners themselves. We just assisted Octocoin move over as they had a dev team abandon them. Counterparty makes it very easy to maintain a wallet and a blockchain in a very simple way.... Its built inside of Bitcoin!!! The coins on counterparty live in your wallets, and the BTC miners hash the transactions. Good bye blockchain headaches We have 6 tokens currently on our platform: Let me know if you are interested rross@foldingcoin.net

Jeez, sometimes I wonder why I spend my time working on this... Now, instead of complaining, you should ask yourself what you can do to help. Sometimes, I feel so alone and would appreciate some support from the community, and I'm not talking about receiving coins... I can't do anything if the price is decreasing. Welcome to the crypto world! And inevitably, if I have to pay for something, I can't really sell JPC or the price will get even lower. Anyway, look, all the coins are still there, and they won't move until someone competent work on it. FYI, if I want another dev to work on the coin, it's specifically because the current one refused to address the high resource usage. Just sayin'.
