This new system could be interesting but how the three algorhythms are mixed, they give same amount like 1/3 ; 1/3 ; 1/3 or they have differents proportionnality in accordance of the total hasrate of each algo ?
difficulty adjustment means 1/3 for each of the three

Watching the thread. What is the GROESTL means?

Groestl is the most energy efficient hashing algorithm. It can used in CPU as well as GPU mining.

Watching the thread. What is the GROESTL means?
a repost from the cudaminer thread:

So what is this Grosel stuff people are talking about? I'm still here mining DOGE and not up on the latest with what to be mining. What are we mining now? Great work on the CudaMiner btw  Wink

that's Gröstl.

it's also a finalist of the NIST SHA-3 hash function competition. Gröstl is an Austrian dish, but because the hash function has Danish co authors, they replaced the ö with an ø like in Smørrebrød

the hash function is important because it is part of Quark and X11 - and it appears that in particular X11 will play a major role in the future (when ASICs have ruined scrypt for GPU miners)

Lol no. I was thinking of a name which is easy on the tongue and sounds ok.
I am from India and saffron is a color on the Indian flag, so i thought why not keep saffroncoin.

In practice, Groestl appears to be suffering slightly, compared to SHA256D and Scrypt. That's ignoring the extra blocks that were mined by SHA256D during the initial launch frenzy; instead look at what happened between 18 and 30 hours in.

I'm not certain why that is. SFR doesn't yet implement any form of work factor to normalise difficulty between algorithms when calculating chain length, so one SHA256D could orphan a string of several hundred non-SHA256D blocks (if the miner wanted it to). Even at block 142000, in 6+ weeks time, work factors are only defined statically so it won't help much. I'm not sure why SFR dev took the MYR block number 142000, rather than implement this from block 1. I can see some non-SHA blocks are currently getting orphaned by SHA blocks now, but it is very unlikely to explain why Groestl is currently suffering slightly.

Has anyone received the superblock yet? 72*3*5 = 1080 coins!
see the source code,first two days,block rewards is fixed 216,no superblock

all are "if" statements, not "else if".
The operators are *= which multiplies every consecutive true condition.
So, if the random number ends up being in the range, the reward is multiplied by 5 and then the code checks whether it is the 1st 2 days of mining and then multiplies by 3. So total for a very very lucky person or pool = 72*5*3 = 1080 SFR.

Some may argue why the superblock range is very tight and quite difficult to obtain, but the max coins are just 111 million, so the superblock has to be rare.

you are right.

    //Random Superblock
    if(rand > 2075 && rand < 2099)
    {
        nSubsidy *= 5;
    }

    // 1st 2 days bonus
    if(nHeight < 5761)
    {
        nSubsidy *= 3;
    }

I already got one of them today @solomining.

As you might have noticed our pools where unreachable for several hours.
This issue was caused by our ISP.

This happed after they performed planned maintenance on their routers.
The maintenance went bad making both core routers unavailable.

The issue is resolved and the pools are mining stable for several hours now.

Your mined coins are safe and where not in any danger during the down time.

So join us or come back mining with us.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
