Guys, there's no volume on hibtc just look at the order books Smiley

We need to get on mintpal, the biggest alt-exchange market. Here are the volumes including all alt currencies:
Mintpal: 4,000 BTC/day
Crypsty: 2,500 BTC/day
Bter: 550 BTC/day
Dgex: 10 BTC/day

We are on all major occidental alt-exchanges but the... biggest one (excluding btc-e). I just sent an e-mail to mintpal (support@mintpal.com) to see NXT as an option to vote it up and I would encourage you to do so to increase awareness and see NXT in its right place, next to BTC in market cap:
https://www.mintpal.com/voting

We already won the voting on Mintpal but they were unable to add Nxt due to technical difficulties. Someone recently contacted them and they said they are still working on it.

Ok thanks for the update. Something tells me that they'll manage to find a way when we see NXT with higher price and volume.

Couple of points:
Mintpal does not have fiat<>alt capability or full bank account integration with SEPA/SWIFT transfers. Hitbtc does.
If we ever want to go mainstream, we need this capability.
Even though hitbtc are a new exchange, they are looking very good already, and getting on there can only be good for NXT.
I'd also like to get on Mintpal, but they seem to have very serious problems with getting NXT up and running in their system.

My suggestion is that we concentrate on hitbtc, form a team of tech guys to help them with integration, and then come back to help Mintpal (if they want our help) once we have hitbtc up and running.

I spoke to a reresentative from hitbtc today, she was very positive......:
Reposted from: https://nxtforum.org/nxt-promotion/httpshitbtc-comvote/20/

Boys and girls:

First of all, thank you very much for the voting support on hitbtc.com.......keep on rolling.

I've just spoken to the project representative from hitbtc that I met at the Bitcoin2014 conference, she had taken 2 days off after the conf. so hadn't seen the voting page since Sunday morning. She was surprised, and very happy to see the amount of voting action in the last 48 hours.

Like I said, hitbtc are fairly new, but very serious, so they want to see long-term users and trading volume. Whoever can give them that will get listed.....
My contact is going to have a discussion with her colleagues tomorrow, and I'll give her another call late in the afternoon for a further chat based on the colleagues input. She was very positive over NXT, and very happy with the volume of votes and new users.....good work, guys!

We are still a way from definitely getting listed on hitbtc, but things are looking very good for us.
If we keep ahead of Blackcoin, keep on showing hitbtc support, and do some serious trading with them.......... Grin
I don't want to make any promises too early, but things are looking good.

I need to find some tech guys to help hitbtc with the integration process, so if any of you have ever helped with exchange integration drop me a PM.

Keep voting, I'll keep you all posted with further developments as I get them.

Keep on voting and, if you can, use hitbtc.com for some trading !!

Thanks again.....

Wesley's client recommends 35+.
I use 30 on the grounds that it's enough for bitcoin (mini private key) and the degree of entropy that gives you should make it impossible for any computer created under the known laws of physics to count to your key, let alone run the calculations to turn it into your address.
It's also easier to remember.

What is the minimum number of alphanumeric characters to use for a safe Nxt passphrase?

Around 22 random char (not predictable) has more than 128 bits of entropy, which  should be fine.

62^22 > 2 ^128

Yes, if the user uses truly random characters Smiley But most normal users don't, so that's why I recommend a higher number in the client (in the case that they want to use their own password).

That is true. First to have the platform ready has a huge advantage point.
It lures in all the business.

Ones you start building something on top of the first one (Nxt) there really is no reason to look in the rear view mirror.
People have chosen Nxt 6 months ago and the products are popping up like mushrooms in the rain.
