hashrate.org is fine, just use it I would not say they are just fine. How much mining have you done there? They have some very serious problems but I am hoping they get better. The NXT community needs them or someone like them. Im going ahead and point out that he was sacrcastic and he was refering to the fact that the website isn't working Fair enough. The site is down but the pool seems to be handing out shares. In addition to being a sysadmin in RL, I am a complete and total smartass - but sometimes printed sarcasm escapes me.

As a newb how much NXT would I need to buy to make "forging" profitable? I currently mine NAUT and VTC. What kind of processing power does the forging require, does it just run on the CPU?

Did anyone d/l the wallet update 1.1.4? I did, and the UI doesn't show up, just a spinning GIF.

The purpose of forging is not to make profit but to secure the network. Maybe some day when we have 100s of transaction per minute, it might be profitable. I doubt there is any profit now. Still to forge once a day you need over 300,000 Nxt

It worked fine for me. Hmm... that doesn't help me. What is the local host port this runs on?

Same here, old version worked fine. New version is saying " Server started successfully" and the GIF keeps spinning while nothing happens.

The .1 you sent me, what does that equate to. .1 oz? it sure does. so how many do I need to get a bar? -bm 10 troy ounces is the minimum order. i set it like that because i wanted to make it so simple that customers could just buy the tokens, send them to me along with their postal address, wait for the silver, and not have to think about anything else. that means shipping has to be built in. which means there is a built in transfer of value from people who make smaller orders to people who make larger orders. i cant do away with that entirely without actually charging for shipping, but by setting the minimum order to 10 I mitigate it substantially. That way i can keep things super simple and my customers never even have to think about shipping.

It's going to be hard to market that. -bm

bullionvault for instance does it this way. If you want out, there is a fee. This model seems to work.

its good to know of another way in which my service is different really 10 ounces is not that much. i dont think very many people are buying less than 10 ounces of bullion at a time online anyway. also i may experiment with a fee structure for international orders. ill have to do something because this model definately breaks down for internatonal orders. its either fees, a higher minimum, both, or no international orders.

Ok, so with the "wallet" running and showing Server started, I can access the UI in the browser by going to http://localhost:7876/. Was this an intended and documented change? If so, the "ui" should say something.

e-Gold had a similar fee to convert from bullion to e-gold (bailment) and then back from e-gold to bullion (redemtion). I consider e-gold the first real digital currency. It's a shame it failed.

Just a reminder if you did not have done it yet. Please go vote on the Nxt slogans ( 8th round, some rules change!): https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/nxt-slogans-poll-(8th-round)/Note that you can now change your vote later after viewing the poll results and after reading the ideas in the poll thread. Voting close: May 28, 2014 Before voting, you can read this (at least the first link) to understand what type of slogan is needed for Nxt:http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-needs-got-milk/http://www.simplimation.com/blog/9/how-to-create-an-unforgettable-sloganhttp://www.inc.com/guides/201101/new-rules-of-writing-a-memorable-slogan.htmlhttp://www.adslogans.co.uk/ans/index.htmlhttp://www.adslogans.co.uk/hof/2003.htmlhttp://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Advertising_sloganshttp://www.thinkslogans.com/slogans/advertising-slogans/http://adage.com/article/al-ries/long-slogans-absolutely-positively-effective-short/145755/Nothing is official, but before posting in the poll thread, please read the first post of the thread. As damelon said, you can see this process as a game. You can suggest new slogan that will be added on a next poll. But, in order to be listed on the next poll, you must read the rules which are given in the first post. Otherwise your slogan might only be considered as a brainstorming idea. More importantly than voting, please consider leaving your opinion on the poll thread.People are invite to critic the various slogans in poll! Come here and critic people ideas. But stay polite. I'll post this message in the thread every couple of days for advertising. Thanks If you feel that you can contribute, tips to the NXT address in my signature below would be greatly appreciate!
