Is is a .Net application?!

Please, make it compatible with MONO!

So, I can install/use it under Ubuntu Linux!

Example of Windows .Net app compatible with Linux through mono: Banshee mp3 player

Really only GUI developed as .NET app. It calls native DLL, so until we implement that DLL as posix compatible, it is not work under Mono.

Should be made open source before anyone touches it. Anything to do with bitcoin really does need full transparency.

What's with the weird wallet files types? I can see a way to import a regular wallet.dat but what about exporting?

To the OP: Why haven't you responded to the open source question?

To everyone else: Are there any other clients out there like this one?

The client does not use BerkeleyDB library.  The Import made on tiny BDB-parser.

I'd love to switch over to your wallet program because of the interface. Not all of us know everything about database software so unfortunately this answer means nothing to me. A google search for "tiny BDB-parser" returns this thread as the first result so... my question remains.

My concern is being able to back up my wallet in the same format as the default client. If this can be done, please let us know. I don't care if I have to use third party software to export as long as I can export it in the same format.

Some text format should be common for all clients' Export/Import.
But it still not standardized by Bitcoin dev team.

That would be nice.
But are you saying that the wallet.dat file format used by the bitcoinqt client is closed source?

It is Open Source, but uses BerkeleyDB engine, big component.
Probably future version of UfasoftCoin will contain BerkeleyDB and Wallet.dat Export support

Hiya, Using it now, I got NMC to block 65235 (69days ago) it's stopped there for about 11 hours, done a rescan, still nothing, 3 peers showing.

Also I noticed the address in address book is the same for all currency's, how does it tell what currency I am using it for?
E.G. if i recieved BTC and NMC using the same address what will happen?

EDIT - actually all the addresses are different, But i still have my NMC problem.

Incredible, we might finally have cause to support namecoin gambling Cheesy

Will you support bitcoin uri links ? and litecoin/ namecoin as well ?
We feel that ease of use will help any currencies adoption, this wallet has the potential to widen alt coin support, very very nice work.

Downloading to test now.

Indeed it is as I just found out Cheesy

Could you support namecoin and litecoin URI's in a similar fashion, eg:

Code:
litecoin:Lh7V3rumW6sgPuDaUHWxWTiJsJzZC5urWC?label=cdice-100&amount=1

Yes, but it will be implemented in the 0.36.

Main 0.35 function is export to "Bitcoin wallet.dat format".
After testing this  function the 0.35 will be released.

I'm having trouble importing my wallets. It repeatedly asks me for the passphrase for the BTC wallet I am importing. I have entered the correct passphrase, changed the passphrase to something shorter, re-changed the passphrase to other things and back again. It will not import my BTC wallet.

Do I need to finish downloading the blockchain before I can import wallets?

Impressive mixture of C++, macros, COM and C#. Good job!

I wonder who many people are required to maintain such source code.

Please Ufasoft stay tunned to the disclosure of (still undisclosed) Satoshi client vulnerabilities, since some of them may also apply to Ufasoft Coin.

Best regards, Sergio.

Hi..

Using version .37 in win 7 x64 and i use it for BTC and NMC.  However, all of sudden the client stopped downloading blocks yesterday at block 211803.  The NMC blocks are downloading fine.  I have rescanned and packed the database but it has sat at this block for about 24 hours now.  I have 8 connections to btc network.

I have a incoming BTC transaction that i cannot receive because of this and i am not certain i can send any coins in this situation - didnt want to risk losing any.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Yes. The only thing necessary to control your bitcoins is a set of private keys (addresses are generated from them).
You can even use both Ufasoft and Standard client with the same addresses parallely .
When you send money from one program, this transaction automatically applied to wallet in another program.

FYI.  when i try to export the BTC wallet to standard format i get an External Component has thrown an Exception error.  It looks like it got as far as creating three files in the directory where i asked it to make the export file: __db.001 __db.002 __db.003

The bug already fixed in source code. Will be released in 2 days

Hi!

Having a problem - for some reason the bitcoin wallet keeps rescanning over and over again - eventually it stops at 0% on the 2nd or 3rd rescan but it is still eating a lot of cpu.

Any suggestions?  I was able to pack the database even while the rescan was going on but that did not help.

Can you send us your wallet.db for analyzing? (If you don't have any money on it or the wallet is encrypted).
If yes do following:
1. Select only one currency which generates the problem. Disable others.
2. remember number of downloaded blocks (column "Block")
3. Close the program and send the %APPDATA%\Ufasoft\Coin\wallet.db to support@ufasoft.com

Some conditions required for currency to be added:
  • Original idea in algorithm (PPC, LTC)
  • New functionality (NMC)
  • Stability of exchange rate to BTC and existence of Exchanges

IRC server domain irc.lfnet.org not resolved

Substitute irc.lfnet.org to 92.243.23.21 in the file coin-chains.xml.

Or add following line to the c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts :
Code:
92.243.23.21 irc.lfnet.org

Ufasoft Coin every time gives unhandled exception error when closing Coin main window while downloading and synchronizing chains. I don't know is this caused by bug in program or weak hardware (Pentium4 2.8GHz 512RAM) that takes too long to close client because it trashes like mad due to 512 MB RAM.

It is a bug.
Long time closing because slow Sqlite transaction commit.
The next version will use another fast Database engine.

For now I recommend to use the program with only single enabled currency.

The error on closing the Coin are not fixed. But I have no better computer to test if the problem still persists with more computer resources.

Question - appears that the addresses for each cryptocurrency are generated from shared keypair. I generate and label address for Litecoin, new address appears for all other currencies with the same label. Is it feature or bug?

This bug will be fixed only with new DB engine, instead of current SQLite.

Yes, it is feature. There are no reason to generate separate keys for each currency. They just use different constant during base-58 encoding to get currency-specific first address character.

When starting up alert http://bitcoin.org/dos appears under Events tab and then quickly disappears.

P.S. Still synching to network. Must be 2 weeks doing this 24/7? I wonder how long it would take on my E8600 based computer...

Please make sourcecode packages available with binary release. Digitally signing (GPG and/or x509) the releases also would be great.

In your case these Novacoins can be accessed only if SatoshiDice will accept NVC and will use same private keys for NVC.

You can add peers by editing file

C:\program files\Ufasoft\Coin\coin-chains.xml

For example for NameCoin:

<Seed EndPoint="78.47.86.43:8334" />

Thanks, I still need a kinda reliable IP for NMC and testnet2, the included one that you quote is pingable but doesn't seem to accept my connection (didn't really debug it further). Also TRC seems to be stuck at block 101632 - either the chain is dead or something's stuck somehow.

Hello, Hopefully we can help with this issue for you.

We were wondering how long it would be before someone accidentally sent the wrong commodity a bet address, Honestly we expected it to to TRC and BTC that experienced the issue first as their addresses are the same.

Looking up your TXID in our DB we do not see it:
http://satoshiroulette.com/txlookup.php?txid=6e9513fc5e060b0c595fb2b93f01430e9569da3e8d27d6834ba4e92975eb7fd8&mode=NVC

This is expected because the address we received your misplaced bet on is not monitored by our engine.
It is possible you saw another bets result and assumed it was from this one.

All transaction results from the start of our business to current can be checked and verified here:
http://satoshiroulette.com/txlookup.php

Looking on the blockexplorer we can see the address has recieved the 0.1 NVC:
http://novacoin.ru/address/4KkR8E8MCvZyp3ARWgMwDsNCNrMUnSjGfj

Code:
./novacoind validateaddress 4KkR8E8MCvZyp3ARWgMwDsNCNrMUnSjGfj
{
    "isvalid" : true,
    "address" : "4KkR8E8MCvZyp3ARWgMwDsNCNrMUnSjGfj",
    "ismine" : false
}

./novacoind validateaddress 173bFMk3XUryGa3jKKhPLsBuLpHw3oy7LF
{
    "isvalid" : false
}

We do not own either address unfortunately, I shall ask Balthazar for his input on this - he is a very helpful dev.
An interesting problem as in the case with TRC & BTC you can use the private key of an address on TRC to have the exact same address on BTC.

Ufasoft Coin client shares private keys between all currencies, but SatoshiDice does not.

So if MysteryMiner accidentally sent NVC transaction to SatoshiDice's  BTC public key (address string is hash of only PublicKey without currency Letter"), so theoretically SatoshiDice able to return these NVCes.

So... I had been looking for a multi-currency client and found this very interesting project. Downloaded source, created linux RPMs, installed it, started coind - WHAM, Segfault. Next attempt fails with SQLite error message because wallet.db is an empty file.

Platform is openSUSE-12.3 x86_64 . I had to patch a few things to get it built without errors (and quite a few more to get it built on i586 as well!).

https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=ufasoft_coin&project=home%3Ap_conrad for details. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

created linux RPMs, installed it, started coind - WHAM, Segfault. Next attempt fails with SQLite error message because wallet.db is an empty file.
The project was tested only under Windows.
Under Linux only compatibility with GCC was tested.

After all planned features will be implemented then we will test it under Linux.

Thank you for suggested Patches. I hope they will be useful during porting code to Linux.

So... I had been looking for a multi-currency client and found this very interesting project. Downloaded source, created linux RPMs, installed it, started coind - WHAM, Segfault. Next attempt fails with SQLite error message because wallet.db is an empty file.

I think .NET support is not enough. WPF requires some support from Graphics drivers.

I tried this out, however it thrashes my drive constantly while download the blockchain.

Is it trying to flush things every block or something?  I would think since this data can just be refetched, it would make since to add buffering here.

It would be nice to have the dns proxy pick up the currently in use servers, instead of defaulting to telling Google every name we look up.

Does this fully implement the Proof of Stake coin mining of stake?

Would be nice to see a single key import from vanitygen for example.  Message signing would also
be nice.

How about a portable version, or at least let us place the data files elsewhere then %Appdata%.  Also
it would be nice to have the  blockchain data in the Public area instead of the Users so it can be shared.

Since it is commonly merge mined,  ixcoin support would be nice.

SQLightning may work as a drop in replacement.

BlockChain saved to the DB in normalized form. It results many file I/O operations.

Database directory can be changed by %COIN_APPDATA% environment variable.

SQLigtenging was tried as experimental DB backend. But we have found better solution (will be released soon).

Can't the many operations be combined into one transaction though?  It really is so bad with the thrashing that it is currently unusable for me.

Guess I will see soon if the new db helps.

They are combined to one transaction for every block.
Even more: many transactions are combined to groups by nested transactions and SQLite used in Unsafe but Fast mode for BlockChain:
Code:
PRAGMA journal_mode=wal
PRAGMA synchronous=off

The only thing which improves SQLite performance is Page Cache Size. Probably we will release yet one version for SQLite with larger page cache before new DB Engine.

You may be interested to hear this: I was using minerd at work (shhh Smiley to get a little extra hash in my pool but the antivirus software went after it with a vengeance! Then I remembered that Coin has coin-miner with it and now I'm able to use all those extra cycles again Smiley.

What files are needed just to run the miner? (we aren't supposed to install apps on our work machines so it's best if it runs from a random directory). Thx!

coin-miner.exe,  miner.dll, usft_ext.dll, phatk.cl, coinutil.dll, phatk.ptx, btc.il, btc-evergreen.il,
openssl.dll

Thanks!  However, I found that coin-miner.exe,  miner.dll, usft_ext.dll, and coinutil.dll were all I needed to mine LTC (LP) by running 'coin-miner -h' until it quit complaining that a dll was missing.  I'm getting accepted shares, so it SEEMS to be working Smiley  Not keeping a wallet here, mind you, just exploiting the extra cpu cycles (gpu isn't compatable, an Intel 3000).  I use the wallet at home, though.

Thanks for the response!

I really need a fix as i cannot access download the bitcoin blockchain without errors with the .61 version and therefore cannot access my coins to use them.

Thanks!

It is source code.
There is still one CRASH-bug present. We cannot release Windows Binary until it will be fixed.

How can I make Coin show full 8 decimal places? Currently it is only showing 4 decimal places of my NMC balance
(eg. 0.1234)

Can it also show some sort of status message when it is downloading blocks?
(eg. Downloading 1173xx of 117390 NameCoin Blocks)

and a pause button to stop download while I need the CPU power to do somthing else for a short while?

Thanks!

Next release will show 8 digits. An year ago .0001 seemed enough precision.

When you see "... days ago it means BlockChain downloading".
If you want to pause just disable the Currency via "Currency" menu

So sorry Ufasoft... I have some more questions...

It seems that Coin uses the same private key to generate addresses for different currencies. Am I correct?

When I first started Coin, it generated "privkey1" and since I used NMC initially, it gave me "N_addr1" based on "privkey1".
Then I try to use LTC on it and Coin gave me "L_addr1", a different address but based on "privkey1".
(I looked inside the backup wallet xml file)

I would prefer to use a different private key for different currencies, so...
I generate a new address for LTC and Coin gave me "L_addr2" based on a new "privkey2".
Everything is fine... except I also get an unwanted "N_addr2" based on the new "privkey2"!

My questions are:

How can I restrict Coin to use a different private key for different currency?

How can I delete these by-product addresses ("L_addr1" & "N_addr2") that I do not wish to use?
(or rather just not shown in the interface, in case I accidentally used it when I have 4 or 5 currencies in Coin)

If I were to sent some funds, does the Coin interface allow me to choose which address to send from?
(assume I have multiple addresses in that particular currency)

Thanks so much Smiley

It seems that Coin uses the same private key to generate addresses for different currencies. Am I correct?
Yes. It shares keys between currencies.

How can I restrict Coin to use a different private key for different currency?

No way to delete PrivateKeys (it is dangerous anyway, you can lost money owned by that key).
When you are spending money they selected automatically.
We know about a problem in current version. It does not select random new key for accepting change of SendMoney operation. It lowers level of anonimity and will be fixed soon.

Hey Ufasoft, thanks for the great program! I'm having an issue, though. Version 0.61 runs flawless for me. When I download 0.62, either via your direct link in this thread or through your website itself, it's not downloading properly or something. It shows the size as being 1.5 MB, and when I run it I just get errors about how it's corrupt. 0.61 was 2.3 MB or so, so it appears as if there's an issue with 0.62's upload or something.

0.62 indeed has size 1.5 MB. It is correct. please redownload it.
Try to delete files with names %APPDATA%\Ufasoft\Coin\*.udb. They can be corrupted if you used 0.61 before.

Will do, and oddly enough when I downloaded with IE everything worked fine. Thanks! The file size is what made me think it was an error, :p.

Going back to .60....

One other problem i am hoping you can help with.

I tried to send 10 BTC to someone, it shows in the transaction history with 0 confirms and never actually made it to the blockchain.  The txid does not show on the list of transactions waiting for a block on blockchain.info.

I have tried redownloading a fresh copy of the blockchain, tried rescanning and compacting the database.  It is still "stuck".  Also there are transactions more recent than this one that have more than 300 confirms.

Is there any way to delete the transaction?

thanks!

There is a bug in the 0.62 limiting DB size by 4GB.
So please dont use it with Bitcoin Blockchain until 0.63 will be released (in 24h).

Ahh, this explains a lot. I spent the day updating mine with the BTC blockchain and then it got to around 200 days left to go and gave a critical error that corrupted the entire chain, Sad.

Yes. The new DB Engine used.
We have tried to make DB converter, but converting from old (SQLite) DB requires more time than redownloading

Haha, wow. I would not have expected re-downloading to be quicker.

Perhaps add a notification window when updating to a new version would require conversion/download of blockchain, in case users were hoping to use wallet in the immediate future? I'm not terribly upset, but I can see how someone could be.

Thanks for quick reply, and great work on the software!

Is it possible to release those for the other coins as well? I think the most preferable way would be, if possible (depending on your bandwidth allowance) doing automatic uploads like every week or so for each coin so that as new users jump on they can download everything right then and there and get it done.

I have a question too... using import/export wallet we can import/export to the official Coinname-QT, right? If so, what happens if, say we have the BTC and LTC wallets in our Ufasoft client, and then we export our keys from the official clients and import them in to Ufasoft? Will they all be merged in to one (meaning that both BTC's will be merged and both LTC's will) or will they show up as separate entities?

I am asking because I have three separate BTC clients on three different PC's and if possible I'd like to be able to run all three inside Ufasoft but as separate entities (ex. the listing would show BTC, BTC, BTC). Is this how it would work, or is it different?

I was going to test it out and see but I'm scared of screwing something up, :p.

Yes, they will be merged. That means UfasoftCoin will show SUM of all imported BTC money as single item.

Got ya. Is there any way to export them back individually after, or would it all be held in a single wallet from that point forward?

Feathercoin protocol uses the same MagicNumber as LiteCoin. By this reason our client cannot to classify incoming packet as LiteCoin or FeatherCoin. The only solution is opening separate TCP port for FeatherCoin. But current application architecture does not allow this.

Hey there Ufasoft! Is there any chance you can modernize the look of the client? I figure the hard part is the actual coding, but I think it could pick up a lot more people if it had a better looking UI to it (something like Digitalcoin's or Feathercoin's or whatever -- basically they're all the same).

I love the functionality, I just hate the look and feel of it, Sad.

*Cries* I suck at that stuff, Sad. I may give it a go sometime when I learn a bit more about graphics and stuff, lol.

It is still by far my favorite client though -- even on slower PC's it loads up quick, gets connected to nodes fast, etc. The normal clients take up to 15 minutes to boot on my laptop and yours only takes a couple seconds, o.O.

The new version fixes the thrashing problem completely for me.   However, I have yet to be able to get a good block download with
it, it usually stalls in the low 100,000s and then I wind up having to kill the process in task manager, and the db is corrupt. I am wondering if by providing the premade block chain download this code is not getting tested as much as it should in the field?

Could someone post a recent Litecoin udb file? (like on mega.co.nz)

My client seems stuck near the beginning of the chain for some reason and I get an Error 880CC1C1. Cannot insert duplicate key into Database.
I have tried it several times from scratch too. Using Win7-32bit.

I want to get Ufasoft Coin running on my Ubuntu PC, but I'm having a hell of a time figuring out how to get it going. A big part of that is probably my newbishness with Linux.

So I ./configure, and I get a message saying:

coind build disabled, following libs are missing:
  OpenSSL (libopenssl-dev)
  libxml2-dev
  SQLite3

Is there a dummy's guide out there? Preferably a complete moron's guide?

I want to get Ufasoft Coin running on my Ubuntu PC, but I'm having a hell of a time figuring out how to get it going. A big part of that is probably my newbishness with Linux.

So I ./configure, and I get a message saying:

coind build disabled, following libs are missing:
  OpenSSL (libopenssl-dev)
  libxml2-dev
  SQLite3

Is there a dummy's guide out there? Preferably a complete moron's guide?

Don't bother. I've managed to compile it on OpenSUSE, but it isn't working.

Sad That sucks. So did you end up going with another wallet or putting it on a different PC/OS?

I'm using the default wallet of each currency I'm using. Eats up my RAM, but at least it's working.

It is still not working on Win7 x64.  And trying to compact db throws an unhandled exception error after 1-5% done.

My client seems stuck near the beginning of the chain for some reason and I get an Error 880CC1C1. Cannot insert duplicate key into Database.
I have tried it several times from scratch too. Using Win7-32bit.
How many blocks did it downloaded?
May be your System has some unusual disk system?
Some users with RAID reported us about database errors.

Did you tried to backup wallet.db and remove it? Then the client will create a new one.
It will tell is the problem in the wallet database or in the blockchain database.
You can put original wallet.db to the %APPDATA%\Ufasoft\Coin again.

This is like that movie "Inception" - all my litecoins are in limbo.  Undecided
Anyway you can export the wallet to standard client wallet.dat format and control your money.
Call File.Export menu and copy generated wallet.dat to %APPDATA%\Litecoin directory

Yup had tried that a few days ago, grabbed the wallet.dat generated from coin (from an older version) and tried to pull it into regular litecoin.
Had errors for some reason - had to use litecoin-qt --salvagewallet command. Not sure what was going on there but at least I have access to the coins now.

Antivirus says it because some viruses embed our miner. Miner itself is not a malware.

I have checked 0.72 and 0.73 at www.virustotal.com.

For 0.72:
Avast    Win32:Malware-gen

For 0.73:
Avast Ok.

But all other Antiviruses report it has "BitcoinMiner" only.
So I think it is Avast's false positive error.
"malware-gen" means any unclassified malware, including miners.

Hi, want to report an error. It has been happening a few times already, since v0.69 and now running v0.72.

"Coin" is install on a WinXP SP3 and only have "Coin" running with 1 currency (Namecoin) and it would be left running 24/7 and after a few days it would display this error in the "State" column:

Quote
SQLite Error: no such column: txid

When I tried to close "Coin", I would get a pop up message:

Quote
SQLite Error: unable to close due to unfinalized statements or unfinished backups

Then I click "OK" and it will close normally, but no matter how many times you start "Coin" again, it will still have the same error until I delete "Namecoin.udb" and download all over again.

Have this been fixed in v0.75 or better to wait for a later version? Thanks

I am using version .75 for namecoin on win7 x64

I cannot get it to download the blockchain completely.  It goes on  for a bit then just stops.  I can exit the program but the coin process is still running and won't stop until i terminate the process.

Eventually i get to a point and get a sqlite error about cannot start a transaction within a transaction.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I was using Ufasoft coin last year, so my original wallet and data was just for namecoin. Now I got the newest version and have added LTC and PPC to the mix, and so far I have been unsuccessful catching up on blocks. I tried again after moving my wallet aside, and let it create a new one. But everything stops, it got to block 100448 and it produced a SQlite error: cannot start a transaction within a transaction.

Next I deleted everything, except the wallet I have backed up. As usual, it stopped everything again, this time on block 42067 on NMC with the same exact error.

My harddrive setup is pretty standard, it's not raid. But I am using Diskkeeper to keep fragmentation down. My internet connection could be the cause, but the bitcoin client stays up to date just fine, so I'm hoping there is some sort of check and balance against internet issues.

I have loads of memory, and seeing how this flushes so often to the harddrive, I will try soon on a ramdrive. But next I'll delete the files in the ufasoft directory and try with a fresh unzip. If there is anything else I should be trying, please let me know.  Thanks.

Yes v0.75  Also it seems LTC never gets past 722 days ago, the block it's been at for several hours is 39458, still with eight peers.

This last time NMC stopped at block 29727 with the same error. Sent a PM with the links for download

PPC continues to catch up and stays caught up. Now LTC got to block 94907, and gave error 880CC1C1: Cannot insert duplicate key into database. I deleted the peers file and restarted multiple times to finally get that far. After each database error I close coin program, but it stays as a running process and it keeps PPC updated. I use the task manager to end the process, but I let it go for 8 hours just to see if it would ever exit--it didn't.

I tried on a second computer(Win7, but only 32 bit install) with a trustworthy internet connection and all the same things I experienced occurred on that one as well.

Giving up now, until there's a new version to try.

Ok. I think I see what I did wrong. I started a rescan because it seemed to be sitting on one block for a while. That's why it was taking so long.

Today it just finished scanning the bitcoin db. So I enabled the Litecoin currency, but it seemed to be stuck on block. So with Litecoin highlighted, I selected "Rescan". Instead of rescanning the Litecoin db, it started rescanning the bitcoin db again. Sad
Is there a command line switch to stop the rescan? I can't wait another 2 weeks.

Thanks.

Found something very strange with the Ufasoft Coin recently...
I use Litecoin and Namecoin, but in the following tests, I only have Namecoin active.
My Namecoin address has always been N6SS... (relevent later)

v0.75
- namecoin blockchain stuck at #164048 (20 days ago)

I downloaded and install the latest:

v0.80
- namecoin blockchain still stuck at #164048
- deleted namecoin.udb, restore from one a month ago
- started download and stuck at #164048 again
- in tranactions, my address changed to MvaN... (what???)

I downloaded a previous version:

v0.79
- namecoin blockchain still stuck at #164048
- but my address changed back to N6SS...

Is there a fix for blockchain download?
Why did it change my namecoin address?
If I did not remember my original address, I could have sent some coins to the wrong address!

(Your v0.78 exe download on your web, it states it is v0.79 in Help|About splash screen??)

Thanks! Will try that now and see how it goes...

Edit:

Right after installation of version 0.81, on its first run, an error message (Error 80070020) pops up. The interface window is launched, but namecoin is not displayed on the wallets tab, even though it is ticked in the currency menu. Each time you tick namecoin on the currency menu, the same error message pops up. On the third time, it deleted the "namecoin.udb" file and started redownloading the namecoin blockchain (from over 1000 days ago).

The wrong address issue was fixed, but re-downloading the blockchain is not cool Undecided

Please give a better description to this error. The file is not being used by another process because the computer has just rebooted and rested for 2 minutes before re-starting "coin".

The new format of namecoin.udb  is incompatible with previous.
It contains domain information too. So old namecoin-domains.db can be deleted.

.UDB files for other currencies are backward-compatible.

It was a bug in the code, which replaces old namecoin.udb.
Fixed in the source code now.

Thanks for update!

Just to let you know, your 0.82 (32bit) version deleted the up-to-date Namecoin blockchain (from 0.81) and is re-downloading everything ONCE AGAIN! Is this suppose to happen? This is wasting time and bandwidth.

It was not supposed.
Really it was a bug of 0.81. It recreated database but set its version field  from previous DB file version (0.70).
When 0.82 sees 0.70 it recreates DB again

Another error came up (version 0.82) while using LTC:
Quote
Error 8007273F: An address incompatible with the requested protocol was used

After Namecoin finished sync, I unselect Namecoin and then select Litecoin to sync. It is find when it has 0 peers, once some peers are detected, it displays the above error message.

If I do not click "ok" on the message, Litecoin blockchain can be fully synced. If I click "ok", Coin will close completely. I rebooted machine, restart Coin, and the same happens.

I backup "wallet.db" and then delete it off the Coin data directory and started Coin again. It created a new 'wallet.db" and the same error pops up.

I appreciate your work on Coin, but the bugs are really getting out of control  Undecided

Ok great feature, any plans adding memorycoin (MMC)?

Memorycoin is very profitable for CPU mining!
Apparently few pool has GPU mining but I haven't test as I don't powerful GPU.

So 64 bit of this applies to windows version?

I hope there won't any error with wallets database and I hope I can sent amounts once inside wallets?

Does this program automatically set transaction fess?

x64 wallet works on Windows only. x64 Miner works on Linux too.
Wallet database format is stable > 2 years. We change only blockchain database format.
Fee is automatic to its minimal value for every currency.

Is your litecoin.udb downloaded by previous version?

Yes, it is the same "litecoin.udb" since 0.7x version. Am I suppose to delete litecoin.udb and start over?

OK, I deleted the old "litecoin.udb", use my old "wallet.db", same "Error 8007273F". I closed everything, rebooted, and start Coin again. "Error 8007273F" pops up. But while the error is still on screen, I can see it downloading blockchain, the "block" counter is counting up.

This error code means "Address family not supported by protocol family".
Usually it related to IPv6 addresses, but they are not used widely.
Try to remove file peers.db

Thanks for your help! Finally Litecoin and Namecoin runs fine on version 0.82.

Recap:

Quote
Error 8007273F: An address incompatible with the requested protocol was used
This was not resolved by deleting "peers.db", but by installing "TCP/IP v6" on my Windows XP. Thanks for the tip.

Quote
Is your litecoin.udb downloaded by previous version?
Do not need to redownload "litecoin.udb", I just use my old v0.7x "litecoin.udb" from backup and v0.82 is working.

Quote

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9591247/Ufasoft.png

Wenn ich irgendwelche weiteren Infos zur verfègung stellen soll, einfach fragen

What a mess, having to have 350 different wallets, for all the Alt coins, you want to buy.

Biggest flaw in crypto currency, I can spot.

(It am still on 0.82 and it is working fine, don't want to mess it up)  Grin
0.92 supports both: Full and Lite modes.
Lite mode works for BTC and some other currencies.
When it is enabled, the client requests only Txes for its own addresses.
This feature is still experimental and subject to modify and optimize in the next versions.
But Full mode is very slow with huge BTC database.

Is it stable? LTC and Doge works on Lite mode, won't they?

LTC, Doge supports LiteMode
PPCoin/NovaCoin does not.

All versions of the client are unstable

Where does it request these TXes? Any bitcoin full node or specific servers? (like Electrum)

Another year and another try of this program, this time the newest 0.92. I'm again trying NMC, LTC, and PPC, and this time NMC and LTC were successful catching up without issues. PPC however won't. I have deleted the PPC data file, I have restarted after deleting the peers file, but magically it always stops behind 22 days behind at block 129237 with a full 8 peers for PPC. I have waited 24 hours with it stuck on that block, but it never catches up. LTC and NMC stay caught up though.

I don't know if it's related, but I switched over to the Events tab, and PPC is complaining about upgrade to 0.4.0 required by May 4th, 2014.

Maybe this is a known needed upgrade for PPC?

Thank you. Probably some PPC algorithm improvement not implemented yet.
Will be fixed in nearest month.

Similarly, there is a mandatory upgrade to Litecoin 0.8.6.1+ per the Events tab and http://blog.litecoin.org/2013/12/litecoin-086-release-notes.html, and recommended upgrade to 0.8.7.2 using Lucid 0.9.8k-7ubuntu8.18 for CVE-2014-0224 per http://blog.litecoin.org/2014/06/litecoin-v0872-release-notes.html. Please release compatible code. Thank you.

I am watching from time to time the development of this great project.
This is definitely the best multicurrency wallet until now and I would like to propose an enhancement.
It would be helpful for the users of the wallet if it would be implemented a Namecoin ID support.
This way would be easier to remember payment addresses.
http://wiki.namecoin.info/?title=Identity
Namecoin ID support was already implemented in Bitmessage, Pidgin and NameID.

For ex. send Bitcoin(or Namecoin, Peercoin or other coin) to ID could fetch the registered Bitcoin, (or Namecoin, Peercoin or other coin) address and you have it easier.

Fecthing all data from the identity of "khal" :
$ namecoind name_show "id/khal"
{
  "email":    "khal@dot-bit.org",
  "bitcoin":  "1J3EKMfboca3SESWGrQKESsG1MA9yK6vN4",
  "namecoin": "N2pGWAh65TWpWmEFrFssRQkQubbczJSKi9"
}

Another example would be:
https://nameid.org/?name=domob

Notes:

0.101  is compatible with previous version's Database format 0.92.
But if you remove .udb files then 0.101 will create them in new more efficient, but incompatible with 0.92 format.

Format of wallet.db is not changed (compatible with all previous versions)

Hey, ufa! Thanks for the update!

If most coins work in the same general way (in regards to the client -- I'm not familiar with programming too much) could you implement a sort of module-type system, such that someone can just add a file in, like "doge.coin" that would hold the parameters needed to parse DOGE's database? Not sure if I'm explaining this well enough but basically a way to quickly allow everyone to add their own coins to the client.

It is possible.
You can edit file coin-chains.xml  to add your own currency if it uses one of supported algorithms: SHA256, SCrypt...

But each real crypto-currency has some differences which can be expressed in C++ only.

Mostly bugfixes

But we advice to wait for 0.120
with improvement of database format and new currency support.

I hope it's not another change of database format. I do not want to download the blocks again. I still have version 0.112 running and it is extremely stable Smiley

If you dont want to redownload use 'Bootstrap' DB format
Just copy Bitcoin  bootstrap.dat to
%APPDATA%\Ufasoft\Coin\BTC\BTC.bootstrap.dat

The client will reindex it without downloading anything

GitHub page info is more uptodate.
Number of supported currencies is decreased.

The website ufasoft.com/coin  is still working, but may be unavailable from some ISPs blocking access (e.g. in Russia)
