Hi, i need some help please:

I installed cgminer on a PI. (For testing purposes, it shoud simulate a real miner)
I installed Minera on a laptop with Ubuntu on a VMWare.

After automatic installation it says "Open UR http:///minera"
This is obviously not working.
I tried on my laptop:
http://minera
http://127.0.0.1/minera
Both are not working.

For my understanding to make Minera work i have to whitelist on my PI my laptop via the command
--api-allow 'W:Laptop.IP.Address'
But what do i have to do in order to "start" Minera? See some kind of user interface?

Do you have the full web stack running? how about all the required PHP? it should be your ip/minera

api-allow option is an option for the miner not for Minera. Minera is a web interface to manage the miners not the miner itself.
That said, you need to get the Ubuntu IP and use it in your browser like http:/192.168.1.100/minera

If this isn't working you have to look at lighttp web server configuration and PHP, there is something wrong there, look at its logs and here https://github.com/getminera/minera/issues/190 may be you have the same issue.

This is not the right thread, BTW a S9 should do 0,067BTC/month actually (Ref: http://bit.ly/2kxTsZY), you have to mine in pool and you have to calculate the cost of power.

Mining in a pool you don't need to hit a block, you send shares, when someone hit a block you receive the percentage amount of the shares you submitted in BTC. so if a block rewards 12.5BTC and to mine it required 100000 shares and you submit 100 shares you will receive 0.0125BTC for that block (random numbers just to explain)

Hello Michelem,

I am trying to install the Minera software to remote monitor various aspects of my miners. However, I am unable to understand the installation process. So according to what I have read and learned so far...

Step 1) I will need a raspberry PI to actually operate this software (will something like below will work)? Can the minera software be installed directly on a windows or Mac software?

https://www.amazon.com/CanaKit-Raspberry-Complete-Starter-Kit/dp/B01C6Q2GSY/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1513568592&sr=1-4&keywords=raspberry+pi

Step 2) Once I flash and put the image on the SD card what are the next steps? I will be monitoring S9's and L3's.

Please provide feedback.

Thank you Smiley

1) Yes Raspberry 3 kit is good. And no you can't install it in Windows or Mac (you could use an Ubuntu PC but only with manual install)

2) You flash the SD Card, you boot up the Raspberry, you check the IP of the Raspberry and then from your Windows PC just use the IP in your browser like http://<raspberry-IP>/minera

I have a setup that was running fine in the past.  I can get it to run on the older version of minera but eventually it stops responding but still mining.  Then eventually it quits mining.  I was excited for 0.9.0.   However when I connect all my gridseed blades and try to restart the miner to get them going it just sits there updating.  I have them on usb hubs that you can turn off/on in banks of three.  I can get minera to start on 15 of the 18 blades (9 miners with 2 blades each.).  I thought maybe it was one of the blades causing issues.  But I tried isolating them by sets of threes and they seem to all work.  Any help would be appreciated.  Edit to add this is on a RPi 2.  I ordered a RPi 3 to see if that helps.

I started it mining again and one board just throws 100% HW errors.  I am guessing that is the one that is having issues.  I will have to figure out which one it is and unplug it.

Is the Minera compatible with Asus Tinker Board?

It's an ARM architecture so it could work as is with Raspberry image file, but never tried. Give a chance.

Does this software contain a stratum proxy?  Can multiple stratums be configured and run simultaneously?  For instance, if a user has GPUs and various algo ASICs in a farm, can three or four different stratum proxies be run and managed?

Thanks.

So I installed this software and it looks great so far interface wise. Does this have the ability for remote login? What if I have clients...anyway for them to login remotely and see how their machines are performing? Thank you...

Hello.
I cannot find the Minera IP with IP scanner.
I download the image.
Format card by Windows10 default format tool.
Copy the image to the card with Wi32DiskImager
Put card to Raspberry Pi
Connect Raspberry Pi to the Tp-Link with wire.

Where could I be wrong?
Has anybody same problem?

Any help will be appreciated.

You have to go in network sharing center and enable a couple things for the pi to talk to the computer. Youtube how to connect raspberry to computer and it will guide you. Let me know if it doesn’t. Thanks
