That may have a small effect on price but it probably won't be huge. Really the coin needs some more features if it wants to be worth more. There's just not much unique about it so far.

With DIGIT we have set up a good platform for a reliable & respectable payment instrument for the future. With a bounty system we are going to give out significant amounts of DIG. At the current market price it might not be worth overly much, but prices aren't set in stone and making DIGIT more valuable is not only in the hands of the developers, but also the users. In addition, we've recently bought a sum of 250 000 DIG from the exchanges, all of which is waiting in our wallets to award anyone willing to put in work. Simply contribute and earn your reward!

When the dev himself will not even mine his own shit coin and the diff is .07 you know the coin is dead. seriously, you will not even put 1 gpu on your own coin.

It's not dead... it's just not one of those "mine for 3 days, get listed on an exchange, price goes up 3000%, then drops to 0 forever more" coins. It's a long term coin.

You are quoting the text where the dev says to be buying its own coin and then you say that they should mine instead? Go mine those weekly coins,- sell and get yourself a dollar for a snickers.

I don't get it, then what's the point of having such a long POW phase with a 13MH/s Network hashrate?

I see 40Mhs and more, but allright, it in the same ballpark. Obviously theres hope that Digit will become more popular in future. Currently there are only around 25000 - 30000 DIG produced daily. It does not really put large pressure on price but still gives the opportunity to mine your own coins. I dont see any problem with that.

Is there anything going to happen with Digit in the near future? If I dumped it all when it hit bittrex on relaunch, I could have earned over 5 BTC. I couldn't at that time because I was at 35000 ft with no internet. Now it's almost worthless. Not even pump & dump worthy :-/

Its sad how most of the bitcointalk user base is always expecting something to "happen" without doing anything to help. Its not about bells and whistles made for teenagers. Its all about the community. BTW. There was never enough volume to even make a 1 btc at high price. Those were simply trading robots dummy orders. I know because i watched the markets from the beginning and sold some in to those dummy orders. My best advice would be to just wait a few months until block reward has decreased a lot. If you dont want to wait, then simply sell and say bye.

If you dont want to wait, then simply sell and say bye. To be honest I only saw this coin for more than a quick Pump & Dump profit maker and was perfectly fine with Scrypt Digit. I'm pretty sure it was on Bittrex by the way. My buddy on IRC mined Digit as well. I recommended the coin because I thought there was potential in this one and I'm very happy he dumped when he could, otherwise I would have made him lose money for the rigs he rented and his own energy bills. He dumped right after the "new" X11 got listed and if I'm not mistaken, price was above 3500 sat. After he dumped, it was less than 2000 sat and by the time I could check, it was already down 500 sat. Now it's not even 40 sat. The move to X11 was catastrophic and many lost all their Scrypt DIG because it wasn't very well communicated to the outside world and only those lingering in this thread knew how to get it converted. Saying I'm only 'expecting' things to happen is not true. Okay... maybe it is for Digitn but I consider it as loss and amortized it. I'm supporting Blackcoin projects with donations where I can or fund crazy things like Black Moon and started recently with a more active role in promoting Minerals. I think that's fair enough considering I only have few hours to spend on crypto. And next to that I'm trying to convince my employer and partners to accept bitcoin payments. That's not "nothing" and hard work in research and preparing business cases applicable to the sector. But those who blindly believe in the petrodollar are hard to convince and yet I don't give up on that.

Whereas it's fine to express your opinion and criticize our decisions, we feel that some of your claims are rather imprecise. We feel that the move to X13 was announced well ahead with public statements made in quite literally every social media site and forum related to DIGIT, making the news exceptionally difficult to miss.
In the end, we declined only two addresses because those were sent in very late. 79 accounts were fully compensated. There were many reasons to move to X13 and we believe that the decision is justified.
For now, we're still here to stay but not pushing any huge changes in the near future. However, we might be looking into some visual re-designs and additional advertising for the coin. We're also actively keeping track of the coin's progress, fixing bugs, communicating with the community and searching for a lead developer as stated before. Furthermore, we're willing to motivate any contributors with significant amounts of DIG, warmly welcoming anyone willing to do their part in making DIGIT more advanced & popular.

Dev, It's nice to see that the team behind DIG is at least honest and transparent. But in the Altcoin world there's too much competition and even if DIG is not a pump and dump scheme, it really needs to compete with other coins in order to survive in the long term, so what I'm wondering is what makes or will make DIG coin and payment system so special and unique that it will make people choose it as a form of exchange and payment system other than "not being a pump and dump" scheme, people really need stronger reasons.

I agree about needing more attraction, but they have the door wide open for developers and contributors. Its up to people now if they want to join this honest coin with no 1000% upside potential (because of the PoW block rewards) or stay with the coins which value can skyrocket with hype and additional features. Honestly, i have a feeling that not many developers will consider Digit until PoW has ended. Not many would work for free will and no quick profit. So i guess, lets relax and wait until someone important starts to realize the potential of stability this coin is made for.

bittrex says This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It's time to cut down pow amount and increase block amounts to pure pos.

It's time to cut down pow amount and increase block amounts to pure pos. i'm starting to agree with hero18688, not only because bittrex is unlisting us but also because of the following : Pools : digit.5limi.com : no workers / no hashrate Digit@Suprnova.cc : in maintenance for weeks now, not allowing to mine Digit there .. we might as well remove it from first page minep.it : 6.6 MH (0 workers ?) Total Network hashrate : 63.7 MH Exchange Bittrex : delisting Digit due to low volume / not enough customers Exchange Allcoin : very low volume for weeks now, i wouldnt be surprised if we get delisted from there too one of these days Exchange Cryptoine : same as above There is just not enough POW being done by miners to justify the one year mining period anymore
