The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Alright everybody here's what you've all been waiting for. Coin DestructionWe are going to send the remainder of the funds not issued to the public (less 1400 to Busoni - He will verify the address) to an address generated using the same method Novacoin used to destroy their pre mined coins. This method creates an address that passes sanity checks in the wallet while using a valid hash which makes the public key invalid. Even if anybody were to brute force the private key, that will still be invalid - The coins in this wallet are permanently unrecoverable. Here is how the coins are getting destroyed. Feel free to follow these steps yourself to verify the method: (Taken from Novacoin, byte sequenced changed to match XBC -- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=144158.0) 1) We used the hash of an obviously made up public key. This means the difficulty would be in even finding a public key with such a hash, much less finding the corresponding private key 2) To create the valid non-redeemable address for destroying coins, we will use this online address generator: http://gobittest.appspot.com/AddressUsing this byte sequence as public key to return invalid: (Section 1 - Public ECDSA Key) 0800000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 Enter this line to "Public ECDSA Key" field and press "Send" button - This will return the error "Invalid public key length". After this you need to set the correct address version. Go down to section 4 and edit the first byte of "Adding network bytes to 3" field, set it to 19 (First two characters). I.e. final value of "Adding network bytes to 3" will be 19B472A266D0BD89C13706A4132CCFB16F7C3B9FCB Now you can press "Send" button and get the XBC address used for destroying the coins, which corresponds to invalid public key. This address will be forever invalid (while still passing the client's sanity check) and the coins will always be unrecoverable ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will record my desktop throughout the process to make sure everything is documented meticulously and post to youtube -- I will also plug the numbers that appear for me above and you will be able to verify with 100% certainty these coins are lost forever. The destruction address is: BLuCaBUaSANZZ3Z9R7JzZJRT6wwhc9VxuG http://xbc.blockx.info/get/address/BLuCaBUaSANZZ3Z9R7JzZJRT6wwhc9VxuG TX: http://xbc.blockx.info/get/tx/1b168017d4e8c0d16b946068c5e956ccee1d8e1909ca0118d579a4e351120928#o1http://xbc.blockx.info/richlist/ - click "View More Stats" - scroll down to see the destroyed coins. They have been destroyed, as of there are a grand total of 55,350.01 XBC in circulation. Generating the address: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqYtvmVho-wSending the coins : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsw6rzNT4IwI see somebody sent 0.1 XBC to the destruction wallet send to our community development fund instead, address in my sig. UPDATE - Remaining 1400 coins will be sent to busoni@poloniex. Address: BG24FkmmGwNCKhUT8846A53xR8RTPdRnt4 Verification: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=549485.msg6531892#msg6531892\TX ID: http://xbc.blockx.info/get/tx/9f3454daa17558597b4f918e2fa8ab17cf4bf8e10aaacb12c1e5f45d43978fbd

XBC will have a good week. Wallet/website soon. Mullick from cryptsy helping out. We'll be Mintpal and cryptsy soon no doubt. Buy books for XBC on the rise.
MintPal and/or Cryptsy would be major things for the coin... voting should be a priority, after the new wallets come out. That assumes they just don't take the coin automatically. It's weird, but when the coin started off, I worried about price manipulation on Poloniex pushing it up. It's a small exchange, so it doesn't take much to move a coin along. Now I see more manipulation pushing it down, rather than up. Yet it still has a very decent floor... a lot higher than it was during the last price hike.

Everyone it would be in our best interest to email moolah and ask for XBC integration. https://moolah.io/They are similar in their values as XBC is, focusing on transparency and adoption. They have full merchant support as well and military grade online wallets, fully insured.

I can't even tell what is going on with the price anymore. Can someone tell me why a copycat coin, made by a dev who I guess kept money he shouldn't have/did something shady, who isn't even involved with this coin anymore, would negatively affect the price like it has? I think Busoni said he wouldn't even list that other coin?
There are always copycats, a million nation coins, a million colors of black coin... none really matter. I don't get what is going on, unless I missed something.

No way to be sure it had an effect or not. The price has had it's dips and crests past few days anyway. as far as the past of the original dev etc, everything that needs to be said has been said...and maybe then some. Wash hands of it and distance yourself from the negativity. Looking forward to Wallet release (soon-ish?) and maybe some other exchanges picking up the coin. Then we'll see what happens.

Yeah, but it has looked like manipulated dips. Basically as soon as price gets decent, trolls come out to play, then the price sinks, the whales feast, and the process repeats itself. Today was that XLC thingy, and it can't be a coincidence that the coin went from .02 to .013ish for no reason. I never traded a coin that was just on poloniex only before. Or I should say, I never paid attention to daily swings/trollboxes as much. It appears way too easy for price manipulation (both ways, up and down).

I agree it looks like some manipulation to keep the price down. I think the usual was happening today and some other folks took the opportunity to sell (panic or otherwise) with the XLC silliness. (especially with that joker that keeps putting up 1 XBC buys and sells. heh) I've only been at this 3 or so months, and mostly on Poloniex, but I've never seen it go on so long before. A small fish like myself just has to sit and watch. I'm waiting to see what happens when it hits a 2nd and/or 3rd exchange. Hopefully then some more "organic" movement, driven by market demand/supply rather than some whale.

I've only been into crypto about the same time, and do realize this sort of thing happens. I just find it odd how this pattern has basically repeated itself the past 2-3 days ... sort of an easy way for whales to double their money. I am also surprised people fall for the same thing, and sell low ... and then watch the price go up, fud/trolls come out ... then they sell low again ... and whales repeat the process. As for XLC, I was wondering if I missed some news or info on it. To me, it's a situation that really is sort of meaningless, at least in regard to price, assuming poloniex doesn't even list the coin. It's like if a dev made a coingen bitcoin plus plus plus plus coin, or some nonsense ... if it's not listed for sale anywhere, and from a somewhat shady dev not even related to your coin anymore, who cares?

To the people worried about the price...understand this is early days for XBC, there were a lot of IPO noobs who got quick profit and dumped...and distribution is now 10x better
We still waiting for wallet, cryptsy, mintpal - basically still in a stealth launch so this is the time to get in - think about the price when 2 week old coin like XBC with 50k coins and top 10 volume hits MintPal
The Bitcoin Plus brand has a lot of potential and a great team, everyone please focus on building the next parts of the coin and community, the price will follow that.
cheers Agree. I'm still holding my IPO purchase. The new committee and community are doing a fine job. Keep it up. I might have to buy one of those coffee mugs when they come out. It's like if a dev made a coingen bitcoin plus plus plus plus coin, or some nonsense ... if it's not listed for sale anywhere, and from a somewhat shady dev not even related to your coin anymore, who cares?
Just the way it goes. Always new people into Crypto who are learning, sometimes the hard way. I know I did on more than a few occasions, some not too long ago! heh

Will the price go up once XBC gets on different exchanges? Also, this is my first time ordering a cryptocoin from an exchange. I bought XBC from poloniex and its still in the open orders tab. How long does it usually take before i get them? Thanks guys.

If you buy from the sell side, it's automatic. If you put a bid in on the buy side to get the better price, you didn't actually buy anything... you just put a bid in. As for how long it takes to get filled... nobody knows. 1 min, to possibly never. But it's better to just put a bid in and wait, if near the top it almost always will get filled sooner or later. I'd think the price will go up, at least initially, once the coin moves to a bigger exchange. There is usually some hype as coins get listed. Longterm, nobody can say, but it shouldn't be as easy for price manipulation to occur once its on more exchanges. I see it's already back up to around .015. I prefer stable coins, so hope it finds a nice floor and just stays on it for a little while. I don't like all of this jumping around. And yes, it's perfectly legal, no worries.

If still in open orders tab then you don't have them yet. Take a look at the price you offered to buy at. Maybe you have to cancel your order and set a new one. Good luck. Don't pay any attention to troll box. Sorry but can't help with US legality question.

I'm thinking this might be very unstable always due to the lack of supply. buying just a few coins can really move the market at higher prices

Also could be due to being on a small exchange. It's harder (although it happens still) for whales to move a price around if a coin is on 3+ exchanges, and 2 of them are cryptsy/MP. When just on poloniex, I wouldn't think it'd take that much.

Has funding been raised for voting? I realize most funding is probably for bounties, but MP voting is now somewhat expensive. Any of the xbc whales using some of their gains to spend on voting?
Ideally that is what some of the ipo could have been used for, but evidently that can't happen now.
After the new wallet/website comes out, to me the first priority should be getting on Cryptsy/MP. An XBC marketplace would also be nice (I suggest modeling it after Noblecoin's marketplace).
As for this casino thingy, any info on what that is exactly?

As of right now we have not raised funding for votes, because of volume the chances of being added are quite high. In regards to the casino we are partnering with yogg who runs a very transparent gambling site seen here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=301571There was talk over irc with one of our supporters that may have a poker site that could take XBC as well. As always though please use good judgement when gambling, in other words if you're up its probably a good time to stop XBC will be on a large exchange sooner than we expect, once wallet drops tonight it opens the doors to many things. As for an online store I have been speaking with a few vendors that have the goods to make this happen. It may be a bit down the road though. Regarding the IPO as you said that's highly unlikely, but it has a bright side of pulling together as a community to make things happen. One thing I was thinking before bed last night was doing a raffle for everyone. Maybe with an iPad air as top prize and then subsequent prizes below that. Its just a thought and we could do a .5-1 XBC per entry into the raffle. The proceeds could go towards the development wallet and a portion to the prizes. Let me know if you all like this idea and I can get this going next week. Obviously transparency during the process would be a top concern for me, I may as well get it tattooed on my forehead because I only want the best coin and community behind xbc. Please leave your thoughts and ideas on this thread or hash it out on irc. Thank you all!

Please leave your thoughts and ideas on this thread or hash it out on irc. Thank you all! True about volume, as it's very possible the coin gets added automatically without tons of votes. As for marketplaces, vendors are fine, but quite often crypto marketplaces look like bad eBay sites. You get oddball merchants with a handful of items that most people probably wouldn't buy from normally. I like how Noble Coin did it ... if you look at their marketplace, they first focus on gift cards. The Amazon cards are pretty much the equivalent to fiat, to many people, as you can buy just about anything at Amazon. They also sell (or will sell) gold/silver too. If you set up a marketplace with gift cards rather than relying on vendors, I think it would be more appealing. Getting the coin on coinpayments may be a priority for something like that to happen. And the raffle idea is fine, although personally I'm not keen on entering raffles. I never win raffles, and am not an xbc whale with spares to give away. But if XBC whales offer up for the raffle, it could work. I also guess I'm an optimist, as somehow I think the original dev and current team could work something out, especially in regard to the ipo money. I don't know all the details behind that though.

Mullick from cryptsy is finishing up the wallet over the next 5-6 hours. We are hoping for it to drop around 8-10 pm EST. Everyone for safety reasons be sure to make a back up copy of your wallet.dat file just in case of emergency. It may not even be necessary but its always good to take precautions.

May I suggest in the original post where you list CNY exchange to tack on a Chinese "人民币". By putting the Chinese in that spot you may be able to attract some nice attention, as they usually just scan over English and don't really read it. The Chinese will pop out at them and they will pay more attention or feel the need to Google Translate it to read more thoroughly. Feel free to hit me up for a Chinese translation if necessary. I run a translation and cultural consulting firm here in Hong Kong, and we could get something together for you (also it helps that a good amount of us understand cryptos). I'm really looking forward to the growth of XBC and view it as one of the "upper" level coins like primecoin, NMC, etc. This coin has potential to even get on BTC-E in my opinion.

We, the development team, committee members, and community of BitcoinPlus (XBC), believe there is no limitation barring us from being a top competitor in the cryptocurrency world. We aim to exceed the ambitions of each and every member of our committee/community, and to this end, we continue to work around the clock to ensure that XBC grows and gains greater stability with each passing day. So far, the level of commitment behind this coin has been overwhelming, and we are moved, beyond words, to see an amazing and intelligent community uniting as one.
Our community is growing exponentially, and our members are regularly contributing ideas and collaborating with one another to strengthen the value of XBC. Even developers of other coins are networking with us on the belief that the success of XBC is a win for all altcoins. We have come a long way since launch, but our goal remains steadfast and true: BitcoinPlus (XBC) will be a major cryptocurrency player, and we will not stop until we are on top. We invite anyone who wishes to join our crusade to get involved. We are a warm and welcoming bunch, and despite the mountain of work we have ahead of us, morale is always high and we have a great time together.Take a look at the latest updates from the XBC team: - Buy Coffee With XBC
- Clothing and Apparel! More Information will be released soon!
- Bittrex New XBC exchange!
- Coinswap New XBC exchange!
- Help raise funds for an Android Wallet & Cold Storage Debit Cards:

PM Seriouscoins14 for details & requests. Initial proceeds from this campaign will be 100% reinvested to assist the growth of XBC.
- XBC Fundraising Platform (similar to Kickstarter) – We want to fund great ideas, make impactful contributions to charities with important causes, and launch clever PR campaigns to heighten XBC awareness. XBC collected through successful fundraising campaigns will be sold slowly over time to BTC. Campaign candidates will be hosted, discussed, and selected on the XBC forum.
- Bounties - We are planning out a wealth of bounties and creating a new XBC fund/community donation wallet to cover small, odd jobs from users who wish to earn XBC (since the premine is gone). I will stock this wallet for initial bounties listed below.

Due to their early commitment and risk, people who own a large stake in XBC will have a greater say than the general forum since they have the most to lose. Therefore, the XBC Committee will be established to aid the future development of BitcoinPlus. Committee members will receive 10 private votes on every topic put to a vote. No action will be taken unless there is a clear majority. In addition, once an XBC forum/exchange is developed, a committee member will automatically qualify for moderator status. Issues raised by Committee members will be taken very seriously and resolved expeditiously. We will be creating a new list shortly - It is my personal opinion that the greatest names involved with this project may not be the biggest holders. I believe it is unfair to only include people who hold a large portion of our coin for a) We want this coin to be distributed as widely as possible and b) we want our active community members to know they are a part of this, whether they have 1 coin or 1000. We will be holding an IRC discussion to set up our first wave of development bounties. This will be an important topic throughout the day tomorrow on webchat.freenode.net #XBC Tentative Bounties - We will determine rewards based on our XBC fund balance shortly. - Graphic Arts competition - Come one come all, we need promotional graphics of all shapes and sizes. We will post exactly what we are looking for today. We will be holding votes and paying (amount to be determined) our top +1 images! In the meantime feel free to post your XBC art and leave your wallet address. We would really like to see the community begin tipping one another in a public medium.
- Games and casinos - We would love to see casinos and other fun channels popping up to gamble, earn, and have a good time with your XBC. PM seriouscoins14 with pricing offers in the meantime.
- Promotional Write-ups - Spread the word about XBC, we want well written articles and blogs to start spreading the good word for us. Community members and devs are available for interviews. PM any one of us or jump on IRC and feel free to ask us for the inside scoop on our development efforts and where we intend to take XBC going forward! For interviews, we will require verification from the committee members/devs to ensure that the interview took place.
- Truly unique ideas - Do you have something you can bring to the table to help XBC grow? Let us know, and if your idea has legs, we'll negotiate a price with you!
[/list] Love me some XBC ANN Thread.. as long as you are on the right one that is.

Going very well. But why so little in the pot? Very few contributions from XBC community. Everyone saying XBC is easy to make profits. So, keep it profitable. Invest in it's development. get yer paws in yer wallets and send in a contribution. Every little helps. Let's go.

Ok, so i really want to avoid pumping and dumping, as it is illegal, but, XBC is very volatile. So it is possible to buy low and sell high multiple times a day. Thus basically generating free money. That can't be legal. Is that considered pumping and dumping?

Most of the volatility comes because XBC is on one exchange only. It will improve hugely when it gets onto Mintpal and Cryptsy, we all want it to be fair and stable for a long future, Nobody working on this coin wants to be part of any p+d.

Crypto currency is not regulated, what is illegal on wall street technically doesn't apply here, however, personally I do use a moral code that steers more on the legit side.

Love the project. I've got a few coins and plan to hold them long term. I donated a few to the developmentteam already and plan to donate more in the future. One thing is upsetting me. The BIG announcements made. New POS-Wallet in 24 hours........ and than i'am looking......nothing after 24 hours. Same for the website a couple of days ago. Website looks great now, my compliments. Tip make a promis if you can make them true. Succes with te project. As soon as the wallet is done i wil donate a few more coins.

Spirits are high as the team continues to work endlessly and efficiently around the clock. We are not letting anything hold us back, and when the POS wallet is made available... NOTHING will impede us from moving forward and harnessing our full potential. Currently, the XBC caravan is boarding new members at discount prices. Once we are all gassed up, we will be ready to take off and all of this will be in our rear view. I would like to thank everyone that has put forth their efforts to supporting this fine community. We see you out there putting in work, and all of us at Team XBC would like to acknowledge you for that.

With the gain in value of 15x since the beginning of XBC we can create a 50BTC dev fund if everybody chips in 6% of his XBC holdings. I already chipped in 20 XBC and will contribute again after the wallet is released. Of course this fund should be under complete democratic control and totally transparent to everybody.
With such a small sacrifice we can build and develop XBC to be even more awesome. Go XBC!

There has been a lot of people wanting to know what is going on with the POS wallet that they have been promised, and rightfully so. Here is the scoop, as most of you know the wallet is being worked on by Mullick of Cryptsy, which I am sure most of us that have spent time in the CryptoWorld will be able to identify easily. He is known for going through wallets for Cryptsy approval, checking for exploits, etc. With that said, any further ETA's would only prove as more bait for the trolls, and are not in the best interest of XBC as a whole. When the latest ETA was given, this was done with extreme confidence, and the only real explanation to give right now, is that LIFE happens. Mullick will not bail on XBC, and XBC will not bail on you. We have already come a long way since the inception of this coin, and have worked, some of us to the point of being physically ill, to make this successful for everyone involved. So the best ETA for now, is that there is no official ETA. The wallet remains in the hands of a highly respected individual, who is not to blame for any of this mind you!! I am not sure how many of you out there are part of running an exchange. It is not all rainbows and lucky charms. He is a busy individual, like a lot of us are around here.
Bottom line, I personally apologize on behalf of Team XBC for letting anyone down with ETA's that have not been reached. Moving forward with this, I think it is fair to say that we all know the wallet is in good hands. We apologize for the unexpected delays. More information about release will be made available to the public as we receive it.
Thank you for supporting Team XBC.

For what XBC can do .. rushing anything would be just really silly. This is something new .. something with immense potential if done right and a massive fail if not. Hold or fold ..

How about getting away completely from the old XBC Plus name?? Guilt by association is a powerful thing? No more ETA's about wallet please but please do make frequent appearances on thread so we know you are not gone away.

Actually...we don't know that. We know someone has said that he is working on it. We also know that a deadline was missed and no one really showed up to explain. It seems not much is happening and that a coin that had some potential to at least make a splash is left fumbling around...Good show...
