I had to open and close the wallet a couple times and I also added the .conf file to the folder the wallet is in.

Restart the wallet, it should download the blocks


As for the long block times happening with Proof of Stake,  I'm reviewing the debug logs to determine root cause

So for those re-syncing to the block chain, those errors will pop, the client will sort through that and it will catch up, give it time

There is no issue with proof of stake, it is working exactly as it supposed to and if we need to optimize the code for better performance then we will.
