The plans to repair the BOST block chain have been approved by the BTC38 administrators, which means we will all be moving onto a new fork of the block chain soon, this will repair the issues we have all experienced recently. The current situation with Cryptsy will also be assessed as part of this new phase.


“What will be implemented?”

- The new wallet will include new code changes to help secure and ensure that the block chain stays decentralised as per the crypto currency ethos.
- New permanent staking nodes will be created to ensure the block chain is always progressing. This will require the nodes to have a balance.
- A fork of the blockchain will be taken and backed up along with wallet v3.6.0.0-core. This will be used if the new plan has be be backed out.
- The new block chain will be repaired in a private network, where 500k more BOST will be created by mining a special PoW block with a 500k reward. The new coins will then be kept secure. This balance will then be used to create new nodes and fill up their balances. The new total in existence will be about 12.2m.
- This new update will be mandatory for all users, Exchanges, Explorers and anyone who runs a daemon. Any BOST transactions happening on the previous wallet will be orphaned and will not be valid.


“What do i need to do now?”

- You will be notified on here and in the QQ group when the new wallet is ready
- Once ready you will only be able to connect to the new block chain which will already include the 500k more BOST.
- Remember, do not move or transfer coins until this upgrade is complete and you using the new wallet

Yes possibly, i have spoken to the BN devs about this in the past. The priority at the moment is getting the new chain up and running and understanding the Cryptsy position and how this will affect those coins. Once that is all sorted then we can look at approaching the BlockNet again

Features currently being tested on the new chain are:

- The ability to keep the chain moving even when the PoS network weight is below minimum. This will ensure the chain never stalls again.
- Ensure the majority of wallets only connect using Tor (Not only for anonymity purposes, but so the Chinese community can connect through their Great Firewall to services outside, such as the new bost.link explorer

Unsure when it will be released, as there are a lot of things to do. But it wont be before early next week

if you get on there they have a ticket system to pelt them with the demand to be able to withdraw and deposit coins to their exchange, and they use I think the same user name (btc38.com) on skype so you can search and talk to them there

not sure what you are on about but I scanned it after getting it and with clamwin I found nothing (latest updated virus database for it) maybe you got a false positive? tried a couple other virus scanners online and found nothing in it, it is just a pdf on mining bitcoins.

is it possible that it is so new that no one knows it is a virus, and what does it do? going to check what you have listed,

this is infact a problem and if you open it before it is scanned it apparently either impairs your software or it cleans itself after installing a keylogger called romserver.exe and some supporting software to keep it from being uninstalled, so dont download it and if anyone can track down who this live:btc38com user it might be prudent cause they seemed to know a bit too much about what was going on with cryptsy so they might be who stole those coins from them, thus anyone who can track them down might be getting that 1000 bitcoin reward!

BoostCoin V2
Its been a long time in the making due to various stumbling blocks. But the community and BTC38 came through in the end and agreed to the new plan. The new wallet includes many new features as discussed in earlier posts, Mostly focused on security and the ability to keep the Block chain moving in all circumstances, regardless of the amount of Proof of Stake weight.

Key points:
The most important point is to understand this this is not a quick fix. For example don't expect to update and be able to send and receive coins immediately. To achieve this goal everyone must update to the latest wallets, or they will be connected to an invalid chain. Over the near future i will be posting updates on when the key member of the block chain are fully updated, only then will you be able to move coins to and from them. The main stockholders are the exchanges. After all, this is where the BOST value is held.

Phased roll out:
From today you will all be able to download a new wallet or compile it yourselves using the source code. In the coming days the important wallets such as the exchanges will also update and then you will be able to move coins in and out of your exchanges to be able to trade again.

 Wallet BurstCoin: 4.4.0.4 connects only BoostCoin: 4.4.0.4 but works with two blockchain. Only so try move the chains. We can only wait

You will only see connections to the latest nodes which are on the new block chain, older ones will be disconnected automatically by the wallet.

Yes will keep you all up to date with the progress. The key thing is to ensure you are all connecting with the correct block chain. I've noticed some wallets connecting with a far greater block height.

If you have a block number higher than is showing on the block explorer you must resync from block 0 again to ensure you are on the correct chain
