Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Once Storj goes live we will all have a way to earn coins.
1) put unused storage on line for others to buy
2) collect SJCX in payment for usage of the drive space
3) sell SJCX for BTC to those who need it to pay for their use of the network
4) sell BTC for goods and service that you need

Thankfully farming doesn't require excessive maintenance bills in the way of electricity. Ideally we would want to be used on existing systems with little to no cost. |

Won't there be a problem if the PC gets shut down during night time? I imagine most personal computers get powered off a few hours each day. After how much time will the Storj network cancel the contracts accumulated? |

This is a great idea. I do use Dropbox and Google Drive at the moment, but due to the encryption on this one I am so interested. I am actually afraid of people breaking into my account(s) and viewing all of my personal pictures.

And they've proven repeatedly that they will cave in to pressure to release or destroy supposedly secure information, and if not, are usually taken down. You can't take down Storj. That's the beauty of decentralization. Stand back and bask in its glory. |

To the person who asked what differentiates this project from all the other free cloud services... One's like storing all your data in a big pile in one company's pocket, Storj is like storing different parts of each page in the pockets of people who don't even know they have anything of yours to begin with! MUCH more secure!!
