I waited several hours though, should I ask Bitlane if it was a ponzi after all?
Don't be a fucking retard. I deal DIRECTLY with Pirate. You use Patrick's pass-through and luckily for you, Patrick has coins in reserve. Are you honestly THAT stupid ? DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE ? Sorry about the thread Patrick, but this tool needs to drop himself on his head a few more times and get a firmer grasp on the lending climate.

I'm not talking about the passthrough but about his 1%/week deposit plan. Calm down please. I edited my last post, my irony was misplaced. sorry I was upset by your topic against pirate this morning, but I don't want to fuel the war around here

I think both of you know what was going on - yes to was a 1% account, yes I carry reserves, no it wasn't a passthrough.
In other news, I am still working through the 17 messages received overnight - I will have the withdrawals done shortly.

As a general notice, I have noticed there was a bit of activity today. Other than having to unwind some other business, taking a hit on some investments, and taking advantage of a couple of opportunities that have come my way, StarfishBCB is still operating.
There are a couple of short-term issues that arise. 1: Large (500+) withdrawal requests might be delayed. 2: I am not looking for additional deposits as opportunities that have the correct risk profile are in a state of change. Please check with me first. 3: New account requests will go onto a wait-list. This allows me to better match the needs of different users, particularly when BS&T funds are returned to users.
With respect to #2 above, I do have and have taken opportunities to purchase several bitcoinmax accounts, but that is a prohibited exposure for deposit funds.

I think to be fair, account creation will be on hold until after BS&T makes their first payments next week and the deposit market calms down.

Hello Patrick, I just sent you a deposit BEFORE I read your thread update about deposits. Sorry!! Will you be lowering your interest rate or anything of that nature? I'm not going to leave you or anything crazy. Just wondering :0)

I'm going to let things settle down before making any decisions.

Is there a minimum deposit amount or a minimum balance requirement? I'm guessing not, just based on the balance sheet, but thought I'd ask just in case.

Minimum opening balance is 1.0. Minimum deposit is usually 1.0 but Sen has deposited smaller amounts into the 7Seas fund. For balances less than 10 coins, compounding is default.

My rep can't add much to Patrick's, but I'd like to say this anyways: When Patrick announced that he would be lowering the interest rate, I PM'ed him saying that I would like to withdraw once the interest rate dropped to 1% weekly. He was perfectly fine with this, but asked that I PM him again when I wanted to withdraw (he announced weeks in advance). That time rolled around, but instead of withdrawing, I ~doubled my investment. Granted, it's not very much I have with him (I keep the vast majority of my BTC in a secure cold-storage system, and the rest is spread between GLBSE, loose spending money, Patrick, and various other deposit-takers (in descending order)), but I welcome the opportunity he provides acting as a low-risk short-notice interest-accruing money-holder. Investors beware that every major loss in the history of Bitcoin (Mybitcoin, Bitcoinica, possibly BS&T (don't talk about that here please), various defaulted loans, etc) has involved someone else holding others' coins. I advise that you hold most of your own BTC and use it for transactions. That being said, it is my personal opinion that PatrickHarnett offers the lowest risk Bitcoin investment opportunity, period. Thanks Patrick for your services, and I hope this post doesn't make me look like a sock-puppet
