If you cannot sync, try using -connect=212.75.31.155:41684 instead. Also make sure you deleted you blkindex.dat, blk0001.dat, and addr.dat files.

Hey guys
I want to test mining this coin, but i got some problems with the miner, it seems only a cpu miner ( what is good in my eyes ) but no matter what coin, i can use the cpu miner without any problems.
Only for this slim coin, i downloaded the slimminer ( just minerd / cpu i saw ) i made a .bat file and use -a dscrypt, anyway i start bat, cmd opened and close directly.
Here my total code ( just simple, but on other coins it use all my 8 threads )
minerd.exe -a dscrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool.slimcoinpool.com:3333 -u SPcJFBygWhYcA7fBjbL3RwMccXHaCE96JY -p 1 i also tried without .exe, same result.
For the people who cant sync, i also downloaded the wallet 5 min ago, and the block chain is to old and the sync wont help that ( till dev fixed ) what u can do is download the blockchain and put that in ur roaming / slimcoin folder. Anyway that should fix it ( on any wallet ), i didnt test it because i first want my miner get work.
EDIT: roflcopter, i used dscrypt als algorithm, when i changed it to -a dcrypt all fine -.-

The blockchain files are not portable through to different systems. Did you connect to -connect=76.127.202.17 as that server does not have that many connections and should accept yours. It also happens that if you did not delete your blkindex.dat, blk0001.dat, and addr.dat, and sent the server the old blockchain, it could think it is a DDoS and disconnect you.

I have a running wallet on a long fork but all recent transactions are marked with a question mark. Does it mean all these blocks were deleted from the database and we cannot get them back? No, I had another computer that was not fully synced yet when the reorganization happened and cut it off. And all block upto block 43685 was left was there.
i also had some transactions affected by the fork. "repairwallet" at the console fixed the balance for me. however, when I try to send the coins again I get "Error: The transaction was rejected. This might happen if some of the coins in your wallet were already spent, such as if you used a copy of wallet.dat and coins were spent in the copy but not marked as spent here." any ideas how I can fix this? thanks. (edit: i tried to rebroadcast the earlier transaction but that failed. dumpprivkey and re-import/rescan didn't work either)

I just finished implementing the bigger updates for PoB and PoS, etc.
The release will be coming soon, within a few days.
Here are the changes:
PoB difficulty is now target based and targets to be found 1 every 3 PoW blocks. PoS difficulty base was increased to that of Novacoins'. PoS reward was increase to 10% to compensate for the increased difficulty and make it worth minting (because with 1%, the reward is dust)
PoW, PoB, PoS block "trust" values were adapted to that of Novacoins'. Previously, PoW and PoB blocks had a trust value of only 1 while PoS trust values were much larger. Now, all block types have a better calculated trust value.
Client starts up much faster. That was possible by modifing the blkindex.dat file structure. That means that when you update, you will have to delete the blkindex.dat and blk0001.dat files and re-download the entire block chain again.
More rpc commands added: getrawtransaction, getpeerinfo, listburnminted.
I have not yet fixed the PoS 100% CPU usage that some may have experienced. It seems to be an issue in the basis of PoS and not Slimcoin's additions. If you want to disable PoS minting, use the -reversvebalance=<x coins>, where x coins is some large number. That means that PoS will be disabled until your balance is greater than x coins.

Can anyone take care of creating a new website for Slimcoin? And a reddit handle as well... we sorely need those 2.

I think the actual slimcoin.org website is not that bad. What would be really nice is a dedicated forum. This thread is getting too large. I think a forum with discussions about design decisions etc. in dedicated threads would also attract developers and other technology-savy people and enable Slimcoin to move away from a "one-man-project". There is still much work to be done to make slimcoin a stable, reliable cryptocurrency. For now, there is the (almost empty) subreddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/slimcoin/
