I don't remember the number of open campaigns being this low. A year ago there were so many of them that people were choosing and picking and posting about rates being too low or the rank requirements being too high. You could even get a campaign being a jr. or a member. Is the era of signature posting coming to an end?
Maybe an end
because of this fucking signature campaign abuser. Not only for those rank but for all here in bitcointalk user that participate signature campaign.
If this abuse continues probably we will not get any reward or amount from that service.
Who are you talking about? I think there are plenty of abusers out there, but most can be found because they're dumb. Like
this oneSome people are doing a great job negging sig abusers and linking their accounts.
I think that campaigns will recover when another bitcoin bull market starts but by that time we could be moving to a new forum.
Actually if you included non-bitcoin paying campaigns (ICO tokens), the number probably has never been higher.
But apart from ICOs, there seems to be a decline in active usage of cryptos (other than trading), which has impact on number of crypto related services and, in turn, on number of campaigns.
Other factor is the increase in spam and low-quality posts, which makes signatures less visible + most of the forum members are not really an attractive target group for advertisers.
But, iirc, we've seen worse than that, both in terms of number of active campaigns and payment rates - it's all about market finding the balance.
I'm a 2017 freshman and I don't remember the number of actively recruiting campaigns being this low since I've joined. Of course you're on point about the ICOs, but they're not included in this thread and many people don't want to take additional risk of ending up with a worthless token.
