Received my initial investment. Thank you. If you post an addy, I'll send a tip for your troubles. Thanks again for your honesty and integrity.

Thanks gents. Thank you all for trusting me with your DRK. I may revisit this in the future if I'm convinced that I won't see weird issues if I were to jump back in. I still feel awful that I can't seem to get the funds back from Node 1 and 3. Perhaps if only one node was fatally problematic I'd tough it out and hope they become profitable and that code and network would improve over time, but to have two nodes go down permanently for different reasons was too much and the results have been weighing heavily on my mind although I can't think of anything I couldn't have done differently at the time, since the setup processes for RC2 and RC3 nodes are the same steps we all have to take to set them up. C'est la vie.

It's been an interesting experiment/project and I wish I hadn't seen these problems. I would've been willing to operate them at a loss for months if necessary but all the troubleshooting, rebuilds, and transferring of funds to other local wallets I had to do to get just a handful of nodes back up and running over and over again were a PITA that a user shouldn't have to go through just to get a node working again. Anyway, enough of that. Just a bit of post mortem analysis and another major contributing factor to end this community service.

Tips are appreciated: XcbPGJKXPq4UMNrCBzza7kWEWeDjLSsTdq

Cheers.

So you're basically sitting on 2,000 Darkcoins that you supposedly cannot access or refund? Do you have an address we can look into or non-blurred out screen shots of the address? I have never heard of coins just disappearing randomly to non-accessible addresses and frankly I'm now very worried and wondering what you're going to do about it because honestly if I were in your shoes I'd be posting all over bitcointalk and darkcointalk nonstop every day if need be until the entire community realized what happened and banded together to help. Putting the onus on Evan and his 'beta software' is not going to save you from lawsuits.

Here you go, DZ: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg8180766#msg8180766

DZ, this looks very dodgy. Also, there is no stake mechanism in Darkcoin. You can easily transfer funds out from a MN wallet at anytime, hot or cold.

Non-technical coin. Use OZC to intro coins to everyday aussies: http://ozziecoin.com

Given that the screenshots are censored, I was able to track down the funds from the "phantom self-transaction." Its interesting to note that there are quite a few transactions that occurred after the initial one.

Address: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/address.dws?Xdm1jwKeGbYbxFfTdwWSdjTzpbcAtLTVa9.htm
Transaction: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/tx.dws?428200.htm
Block: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/block.dws?95264.htm

the bulk of the funds ended up here: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/address.dws?XbJprnaLJKVDLQdi3UJuy2yJhjXUBTWdou.htm

DZ, if you haven't already I would recommend you try this from chaeplin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg8180766#msg8180766) and if that doesn't work go to the #darkcoin IRC for assistance and give a step by step on what you did to cause this node 3 fiasco. I'm having a hard time believing that the coins are lost forever to this 'phantom address' but frankly I just want my principal Darkcoin deposit back ASAP without pursuing legal means.

The language DZ uses, and the  "woe is me" tone of his posts, read exactly like the Silk Road 2.0 "I can't believe we got robbed when everything was in hot storage" dribble.

DZ, give these people their money back.

Hi, DZ, it seems that it was not possible to fit me into a MN batch after all. So you can just send me the 280DRK back.

Thank you

Sorry it didn't work out. I may revisit this service in the future but for now your DRK was sent back

Cheers.

Thank you, I have received it.

So, I'm in Node 3 to the tune of 200DRK.

Sorry DZ, this is all just too suspicious.

- The poor communication from DZ.
- The poor communication from his business partner thomas_s, even though he was seen to be online.
- The inaccessible spreadsheet for Node 3, even though the Node 4 spreadsheet worked.
- A 'phantom transaction' -- This really shouldn't be possible without intention or malware.
- The fact that there are hundreds of other masternodes working fine, without these kinds of problems.
- The fact that this happened with a coin which will soon allow whoever has the money, to spend it without being tracked.

Whether there really has been any intentional wrongdoing or not, I hope you'll see my point, and set up a schedule for repayment for we affected.

I put in 550 + 250 = 800 DRK

Current value > $4,250

I haven't tried to follow what happened, I expect to hear how and when DyslexicZombe intends to repay these coins, I will take this matter further if necessary, to start with 250 DRK should be returned to me immediately at:

I asked Thomas_s if he had DZ's real-world contact info. Here's his reply:
"Hi Jesse,

Yes I do, if it comes to it and legal action is being pursued please tell me which lawfirm to send the information too, I prefer not to give someones personal information to just anybody.

--Thomas"

So, assuming Thomas follows-through, at least we will have DZ's name to aim these lawsuits at.
I remain hopeful though that if DZ just signs on and takes the advice of chaeplin, he might figure some shit out.

Hey DZ,
When can those of us in node 3 expect refund?

Also wondering this.  You can't just give up after losing thousands on others' behalf.  Keep trying at the devs, they've helped people before

Everyone, update his trust for starters:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=140437

Next is (sigh) another thread in the Scam Accusations.
Already has:

--Thomas"

This is BS.  Why can't he release the details to the investors?
If thomas_s isn't actively trying to correct the situation, he is aiding and abetting a scammer.
thomas_s, your past association with DZ is quite solid as an accomplice.

Otoh, ball is in your court:

Quote
Oh, I also would never run with any funds because I'd lose my security clearance if proven & because I honestly hold these beliefs which I expressed in this post on Reddit. I respect other people's beliefs (or non-belief) but these are mine that I wrote of 5 months ago: http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/1ubmff/serious_what_do_you_think_happens_when_you_die/cegy6xr

It would be cosmically stupid of me to willingly steal from others and risk my job/clearance if I believe that I would be set back greatly as a person and a Soul. Also, just contact Otoh (otohs on Reddit) or John K. if anything fishy goes on: they both have my real ID and I would expect and respect that they'd contact authorities if given proof of theft/fraud.

Dude has to sign on first (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=140437).
He hasn't even signed on since Aug. 4. Shows exactly where we rank on his priority list.
DZ, if ever you sign on, go here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg8180766#msg8180766

Remember the episode where they invest their life savings in a shady Madoff node, intending to help God-knows-who launder money?

The part where they take it to court is hilarious.  That poor lawyer!

Good times!   Cheesy
