Devs are working hard on PoS patch and PoSA beta so they might be too busy to.  Besides, they don't need to immediately update github with every innovation they come up with, it puts them at risk of being stolen and not given credit.  To hint that something fishy is going on because of this isn't warranted, if you have been around Cloak's forum longer you'd know the devs here have a great enough reputation.

The source is on github, it works just add the nodes in the main post.

Yes I apologize for the comment about things being fishy, I didn't see the posts regarding keeping the code hidden from potential clone coins.

I would just like a precompiled linux binary with every new major release. Shouldn't be much of a task. It's probably easier to build on linux than windows and osx.

The devs haven't released a new source because it protects the investors at this point. The Linux/OSX versions were on the backburner by the devs but they said they will be releasing the OSX/Linux versions with each new mandatory update.

I actually agree with you, Linux is the easiest out of the three to work with. It should be the first one to be released.

That's a fair point for the next required wallet update. Up until now, all updates are optional. If you can't compile the current Linux source, head to the IRC and get some assistance.

I'm in IRC. I run the bot in the channel. I just want to have it in writing permanently here that there should at least be a precompiled linux binary in the near future so people only running Linux can hold their coins and use the new features as well.

So what was your whole point here?  To get help compiling a linux wallet, have them update the github, or to "have it in writing permanently?"  It's kind of a sh*tty way to go about things with your fishy comment.  Maybe just ask nicely to have a compiled binary instead of suggesting fishy behavior or putting big red letters.

For the record, the linux source code on github compiles on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.  I just installed a VM and compiled it myself following the instructions in https://github.com/CloakCoin/CloakCoinRelaunch/blob/master/doc/readme-qt.rst.  Not sure what version of linux you're using, but it compiles.  I'm sorry they haven't updated it to the latest version, but like several people have said, that's for a reason.

Hi All,

I know this is my first post, but I've been lurking here a while, since the launch and relaunch.  I have thoroughly enjoyed the support, fud, and flaming on a daily basis.
Anywho, I have coins stuck in a CLOAK dedicated pool back from the POW stage and the site says payouts are disabled.

Does anyone know if I have a way to get these coins out?  I am a proud bag holder.

Im using the OSX walet and it works fine.

Make sure you do a fresh install though follow the directions in the OP.

Anybody experiencing any of the following:

Coins not arriving at mintpal or other exchange
Wallet is out of sync
Not displaying the exact block number as showing on the Cloak block explorer... http://cloak.blockexplorer.cc/chain/CloakCoin

went through the same. Apparently fork on mintpal. Only way to recover for me was:

1. Make copy of wallet.dat -DO NOT MISS THIS else coin gone
2. Get rid of the entire appdata\roaming\cloakcoin folder
3. Run the wallet
4. stop it and copy your saved wallet.dat back in
5. create a cloakcoin.conf file in the appdata\roaming\cloakcoin folder
6. add some nodes eg this is the content of my file:

Get latest nodes from... http://cloak.blockexplorer.cc/nodes/

7. Run the wallet again and let it sync

I had to restart it a couple of times to get the sync to complete
If your coins don't show (happened to me) : go to debug console and enter and run repairwallet

Should be good after that

The OpenSSL setup file won't open for you?  I just tested it, working fine here.  What error are you getting, if any?
