If i look at the chart of NEM, there was a short rise about 12 hours ago. The price went up to 0.00682521BTC. It went down to the normal price short after.
Does anyone know what this is?

Day traders moving funds to DASH and Qibuck to ride their pumps i expect. We're in the middle ground now where XEM is firmly on the pumper radar but they don't know or care what it is. It needs to get beyond that and imprint some knowledge of what it truly is on more people. Then it takes off properly. |

Java NEM was warming up, C++ is the real deal?  I hope that with the Catapult will be lower requirements for the hardware. Will XEM rewrite with C++ language? Yes. Catapult will be on C++ No wonder the price is booming, happy.  Very bright coin, top 10 coin. One of the most promising coin. |

Most likely related to the bitfinex hack, people panicking, ETC hedging and people running to pumps. It's starting to come back to normality. |

Indeed! I think, especially in today's "mobile online age", is mobile wallet absolutely necessary, crucial and "must have" issue. I also supposed (but I'm primarily linux sysadmin, not mobile app developer), that to create such application is "not so extremely hard", but probably it is. Look at NXT - dev team works around 3 years on mobile app, but still isn't done/finished. Most of cryptocurrencies haven't any mobile application till today. So, to have such mobile wallet is really huge comparative advantage. Hopefully NEM will have this advantage soon too. Anyway, any news from devs (about mobile wallet, lightwallet, Catapult, [success of] Mijin implantation in Japan, etc... ) ? |

Because the fear of losing is greater than joy of profit. If you have $XXX and you are gaining some profit +$XX then you still have what you had (initial $XXX) + more. But if you had $XXX and now you have -$XX from that number then you don't have initial $XXX but less. In first case your initial $ is not affected, in second case it is, that is why it causes stronger reaction. |
