The developers are clearly a bunch of deranged communists. "Who cares about the price", they say. "They'll get it when it is done", they'll say. Is their something wrong with their heads? NEM marketcap by now could had been $500+ million and they would have funding to do incredible things. Instead the anti-speculationism thing is holding this project back.

Hi, Yesterday, I installed the new wallet, out some coins in it and closed. Now the wallet isn't starting anymore. some one an idea, thanks for helping. regards
Hi, could you please give some more information? What wallet are you using? NCC or lightwallet? Are you using a remote NIS or a local NIS? Hi, thanks for replying. I did install the "nem community client" from this site https://www.nem.io/#clients. Running windows 10 pro. Using the NCC wallet. Don'tknow what means remote NIS or local Nis, but I guess I am using local NIS in case the ncc client is not starting any more, one thing you could try is to delete the file 'accounts_cache_mainnet.json' in the folder c:\users\<your_user>\nem\ncc. It is known that this file sometimes causes problems. It can safely be deleted without risk. Hi, I tried, but it didn'work. Hi, can you please open a thread at forum.nem.io, that is the place to discuss such a problem. Hi, I opened a thread there 24 hrs ago, 21 views , no responses unfortunately

Just ignoring everything XEM has done me a lot of good. By that I mean not trading, not watching the price, not worrying. Just leaving my XEM in my wallet and focusing on other things, thinking long term. Note that I did sell 3/4 of my XEM simply because I was so overweighted on this one crypto. Doing so eased my mind and allowed me to invest in other things. Diversify and don't day trade, is my advice.
+1 Thats right, im doing the same, buy then hold. Every time ive day traded, ive lost.

just close your eyes and buy. I bought at 1,100sats, 900sats and now buying more at 550sats. every time the price goes down is an opportunity to buy and im not being sarcastic either.
You have a good strategy. Dollar-cost averaging is your friend. http://www.investopedia.com/terms/d/dollarcostaveraging.aspbuy when prices go down sell when prices go up buy in pieces to average down ur invest per coin sell in pieces to not sell all to early when it keeps raising higher just some hints if u in this for trading a trader who buy on rise is doing wrong same for a trader who sell as falling prices in case u in NEM for the long run which i strong suggest its easyer buy buy buy each month buy what u can afford afters years of accumulation if things go well decades of payouts will follow even if u just sell the earned fees and not touch ur base share of total coins

Only problem for me is that its a real PITA to buy Bitcoins in New Zealand, and they typically cost more too.

Saw some wise words expressed on Youtube (A rarity, these days) but sums up my sentiment on the future of crypto and blockchain technology: Bitcoin qualifies (or attempts to qualify, if you're skeptical) as a money due to its finite supply. But it was not designed to beat gold as a money, it was designed to beat paper as a currency! And that's exactly what we need if we're ever going to escape the historical cycle of gold, gold standard, paper fiat, hyperinflationary collapse, back to gold, rinse and repeat.
With Bitcoin, you can send funds to someone halfway around the world in under ten minutes, with no need for third parties. With government fiat, a wire transfer between banks might take 3-5 business days, minus hefty transaction fees. With all the recent regulatory clamping down on travel, a gold bar may never get there. So while fiat beats gold in this category, Bitcoin beats fiat. The ramifications of this advantage alone could prove to be huge.
Other properties worthy of mention are divisibility and recognizability. Precious metals are certainly divisible, but picking out exact change in coins is kind of a nuisance compared to today's credit system, where a swipe of a card always deals the exact amount. Meanwhile, a Bitcoin transfer holds precision up to 8 decimal places, without hampering the feasibility of the transfer. So in this sense, I'd say Bitcoin is in a tie with fiat and has an edge over metals. Recognizability (resistance to counterfeit) also favors Bitcoin. While there certainly are tests that can be performed to authenticate precious metals, it's impractical to perform this confirmation with every transaction. Government currencies have all those fancy watermarks and whatnot; I don't know how well they resist counterfeiting but at least it's an easy check to perform. But Bitcoin transactions are confirmed multiple times all throughout the network and are therefore impossible to counterfeit. And you can't mix copper or tungsten with a Bitcoin! So while I can't say whether gold beats fiat in this category, Bitcoin certainly does.
I understand why he and many other gold and silver advocates tend to be skeptical of Bitcoin. On the surface, a recent invention seems to bear no resemblance to a commodity that has withstood the test of time, and the current fluctuating price hardly indicates a store of value. But the philosophy behind the invention was a recognition of two things: 1) a sound money must be in finite supply, and 2) the only way to beat fiat is to outperform it as a currency. I posted this in NEM because i think Bitcoin does have it's own flaws - largely it's PoW algorithm which in the end, centralizes mining power in the hands of those corporations or rich individuals who can then control the majority of mining power -- essentially making them the banks of bitcoin like banks in the FIAT sphere -- this can make or break bitcoin in my honest opinion. NEM is a good step at circumventing this problem.

This in a ninja release on twitter, but no official words on bitcointalk (some people mention the twitter link 2 hours later though) . At first, somebody caught the news on twitter, and bought NEM/XEM. However, some holders went to bitcointalk and they didn't see anything in this thread; they thought some people was pumping it, so they dumped it. It created a massive dump FOMO. However, it's morning now in the US, so I think NEM should go up from now. Words about the update are spreading in Slack/telegram/Trollbox/Twitter. Update the news : https://twitter.com/NEMofficial/status/790808820163366912
