Devs are working hard on Catapult. They don't post a roadmap. More like updates on what has been done. https://forum.nem.io/t/stories-from-the-dev-front-diary/2641

The great things is on the backend, we have three professional and full-time devs working very hard, making a completely new system that hasn't been done before.  They already broke a lot of ground and made a long line of firsts that we have with the current version of NEM, and the next will be a lot better.

I realize that people want a roadmap to be very clear, but instead what is offered is a list of accomplishments. That is more or less the opposite of the pump and dumps on this site.

I would not say that was traditional ICO... those initial fees for stake like 0.001 was to stop some people.
it was like NEM realesed 2000x 1$-5$ per share to avoid coin concetration in one hand avoid NXT distrybution.
NEM had own dev fund that was needed to run coin so quite fair you develop you are getting share.

In current ICOs people blow like 5m$ funding for development and coin system doesn't have to deliver while in NEM system
you had to improve a lot before rise from almost 0.

But NEM was fairly divided NEM was dumped over year before it hited ground and people started buying in.
NEM start was most fair that anything i know today. NO big ICO money behind, Devs had to deliver before anyone would invest more.
NEM royal stakeholders holded NEM hard for lon bear market time and they were rewarded for patience.
