What does this mean?

Poloniex:
"XEM is currently under maintenance or experiencing wallet/network issues. Deposits and withdrawals will remain disabled until a solution is found, which may require an update from the XEM team. Any updates must be tested and audited before enabling."

There was an announcement from the developers to super node operators about a mandatory upgrade. I assume this is the same thing but they're not paying attention.

yes, I thought the same ... but Poloniex is kind of late with that... or is it so that now they have detected some problems due to the not-yet-updated nodes.

Not sure but the last 2 times there was "Xem is currently under maintenance" , there was a nice pump. Sellers cant get Nem onto the exchange

That would be a good consequence.

Now in poloniex.com there is not anymore that note.

Polo has wallet maintenance issues all the time with other cryptos as well. Steem and SBD constantly have wallet maintenance issues only on polo.

What happened to the proposal that was asking for 10 million or so NEM to develop a framework for NEM?

I missed the voting part and haven't read about it in a while. Did they get funded?

Nope. It seems to have fallen foul of some of the rules namely the need to provide milestones that have to be met. I don't really understand why the foundation itself was applying for funding when it has funding pouring out of its arse already.

You are tlaking about 2 differennt iniciatives: nem framework and market assault.
Both of this voting were called off/posponed.

Good advertising.

impressive.
Since it is that popular in Japan, it must have some advantages that is valuable to other banks.

Code:
If the remote node restarts or simply shuts down NIS, you are not harvesting any more. That is the disadvantage of letting a service do the harvesting, you always depend on the service being up and not getting restarted.
yes it is very bad Sad

Well you can always ask an owner of a supernode to add your private delegated key to the supernode config. Then it will always harvest when the NIS on the supernode is restarted.

If you can't contact an owner, then just monitor your harvesting status around the time of an update (these are usually notified on the nem.io forums and on bitcointalk).  This is the time usually when nodes restart after a version update is applied. You can check the nodes version number from searching supernodes.nem.io.  Current latest version is 0.6.91.

FYI, I'll be glad to add anybody's delegated private key to my supernode's config.

which nodes are yours?

yes indeed.
Japan has made some technological leaps since 1970's (... they got rid of the notorious label "Made in Japan"). Maybe they are again making the pioneer work...

You have complicated everything yourself. Any newcomer can easily open an account in Nem, buy XEM on stock exchanges and withdraw their money in NanoWallet.

I bought without problems for 20 minutes on bittrex more than 80 000 xem and sent it to my NanoWallet. The security level of NanoWallet satisfies me.

you are out of topic dear....

I don't speak about bying on exchange and send to an EXISTING wallet.

I was refering to installing a new wallet with the confusing guides NOT up to date,
the accurate stuff to install (confusing and the most accurate beeing in small while
the non accurate one on top of the list to download.

ten telling me that I was wrong with what I got and was viewing in my folders....
confirmed by someone else....

providing not up to date info for support.

I don't blame, I want to explain how it went wrong and how important it is
to provide accurate info / links / support.

It seems that the reception for those comments are not taken in the positive way
to improve and fix which should be when this is pointed out.... too bad ;-)
If at least I did not loose my time to make those comment hoping to help to improve
and that my bad experience would serve for the others to come have a better experience.

Good luck

I would not say so Smiley
After years of UI design work, I believe that applications, specifications and guides are not good enough, if the user meets problems and is frustrated enough to tell that loud. Then the problem is such that it matters.
And as here has already 3 - 4 members commented that the documentation is not up to date, then there is something to be corrected.
The docs affect to the whole usability. Well.. that is part of the marketing. And the marketing may be crucial to get such new members, who are not so "techie" AND have a lot to invest.

Some users (you?) may be so adaptive or clever that they find the right solution at first clance,
OR they do not stop themselves to think what was wrong with the first try, and forget that immediately after they find something that works Smiley

"Some users" - well, it may be also "the most of users", even "95 % of users" ...   of the users, who managed to struggle through the redemption phases Wink
  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=654845.msg9425957#msg9425957)

thanks a lot for your comment.... at least one person is understanding the purpose of my messages and comments
and how key is to  take into account the feedback to continuously improve from the vew on people outside the dev team.

Most people whic would have had a bad experience, would just have left not reportiing the issue, telling bad things around them
about NEM, without NEM community knowing what was going wrong.... and not understanding later on some negativity started to appear
in some circles.....

People satisfied by a service are telling 2-3 people quietly, people NOT satisfied with a service are telling 10+ people LOUDLY

telling bad things or rerporting bad things is useless when this is the only purpose.... this is useful when it is done with the desire
to tell what is not going well in order to change and correct (which was my attempt).

If my XEM are safe in the nanowallet, I can be sure to survive any EMP attack going off in my house (worst case scenario).
Can I print the large code in the .wlt wallet, then type it again in a text file, save as [wallet].wlt and being loading in nanowallet?
