Why archive a forum when you can keep it going ? Wouldn't networking the different channels be a better alternative ? But then it might not be so easy to control ? ....?
Who and where is spoken about archiving a forum? Yes, you are right, sorry. My statement here was not 100% correct. Only a few posts with technical content should be archived. But there doesn't seem to be anyone in the community who wants to do this. According to the announcement, it should have been closed long ago. Even the person responsible for the documentation is throwing in the towel again. And there is certainly more than enough work to be done here. For whatever reason. There are enough financial resources to keep this forum going. So a lot of information is lost. In a good and bad way. Actually an absurdity. All contributions, no matter what kind, are good contemporary witnesses of the development of NEM / Symbol. They are easy to search through and you can find the relevant information relatively quickly. I don't remember anyone asking the community either. It's a decision that was made unilaterally by the core devs. Well, but NEM / Symbol now has a lot of colourful avatars and pictures. If that's nothing! Do you think that the archiving should be done to some public place, e.g. https://archive.org/ or to some NEM / Symbol storage? I don't know if it is possible to save these bitcointalk.org's threads but if the amount of pages is not much, then someone could pick each page one by one and save them to PDF format. After that the PDF documents can be easily saved to anywhere as the total size would not be gigabytes. By the way, there was a Twitter vote. These are known to be particularly meaningful. " Hatchet 𓊝 @0x6861746366574 How often did you use the NEM Forum? Not at all 60.6% I would just browse 23.3% Occasionally posted 11% Posted often 5.1% 335 votesFinal results 3:42 AM · Oct 27, 2021 Read the full conversation on Twitter " It might have made more sense to publish the NEM Forum server statistics for a year or two. There you would have had an independent statement. Perhaps this would not have fitted into the plan to close the forum. I feel like core devs are going from one extreme to the other right now. And it annoys me how new members are played off against old ones. Pure polemic. Yes, the Wayback machine might be a possibility, but I don't know enough about that either.

Yes, the last message should be visible, if the posts will be deleted. Strange .... is there any other reason for the closing than the "Gallup about the usage" ?

Community control maybe....but not sure. There are enough resources($) for the forum. Even if you only run it as "read only". But if you look at the tweets from "Hatchet" at the moment, it seems that someone here is looking for or preparing an exit door. Another one who leaves behind a shambles. I'm curious how the soap opera will continue.

and dip occured at 0.1061$ 18.04.2022 at Kucoin as planned, unfortunately todays pump lasts only around half an hour (top 0.1904$) that is sad tradition for XYM coin that buying pressure lasts not even few hours not to mention about day or days and week/weeks Without fuel of real good news i see the price moves only in that range between support and resistance still with downside bias, so maybe that dip is not so final as i wished to be, it's always very hard to judge for sure.

Is there actually any significant further development of NEM and Symbol? I remember that there was a lot of development before the split, especially regarding Catapult. Looking at the GIT repository today, there's not that much progress there anymore. There's a little bit less happening with Symbol. Does NEM still have a future in this form?

Now the situation is clear in the whole cryptosphere. Dont touch any coin until BTC will make dip 80% from the ATH. I bet that it will occur in 2022 and will be repeated in 2023 in so called capitulation phase after bubble bursting. Cheers;) https://www.tradingview.com/x/J8AsY5Fj/

I am afraid that I cannot strongly disagree with you now But I will not sell now, it is too late, because it is not known how deep the possible dip is. Is it the "traditional" -80% or just a visit at the level of the peak of 2018. Edit: or was the drop just caused by Terra's problems? https://www.euronews.com/next/2022/05/12/bitcoin-falls-to-lowest-value-since-january-as-tumbling-stock-markets-continue-to-hurtMay we now continue to even higher peaks? ;-)
