Bitmain are you going to reward your loyal customers with some good coupons without expiration dates for the S3, and S3 updates from S1 ?
The way I read it was an updated heat sink for the S3 which could be fitted to the S1. Is it something more than that? All batch one buyers will receive a free puppy. And tickets to a Circus

Makes more sense imo to discount any upgrade kits they release.

No need to get panicked. The jump is due to new product test & release. If you look at previous charts there are many such jumps. BTC price will caught it. Be cool.
for sure the extra hashing power of the network is needed, in order the transactions to be confirmed in minimum time. Check now when you make a transaction then in about 10 seconds its been seen by 3-5peers. this helps but has to be stable. Gradually the money we all miners put in the bitcoin is expanding the bitcoin in general. But there has to be a limit so other people and not only miners adopt the bitcoin. these spikes in hashing will gradually reach the customers after a week or so shipping I hope that the new miners ROI without the price increase and if it happens its a good thing if not remember the 300 usd this earlier year. Anyway fingers crossed now.

The easy quick and nasty way for BITMAINTECH to re-establish themselves as one of the largest providers of hash power to the bitcoin network ( once S1s go offline in droves shortly ), is to sell the S3 for the same price they last sold the S1 for. They will be no.1 in about the time it takes to ship their first 20 batches....just sayin....

S3 price is expected to be around BTC 1. Upgrade price will be lower. One additional fan need to be added to the other side of the existing while upgrading S1

Did Bitmain announce pricing yet, or is that just speculation? Wasn't around this weekend, so I missed any price announcements.

They will mine less than .8 BTC before operating costs exceed revenue at today's BTC price, 20% diff and $.15 kwh electricity. If you start mining today.

Also remember, S3 comes with no PSU. So a PSU cost need to be added to price. Min $40+ for used PSU. Then Duty charges, misc....

I hope for < 0.5 BTC for a S3. My 5 S1 are far away from ROI.

I'm hoping to just Upgrade my 4 S1's TBH. I might wait a few months until my S1's are useless.

I am hoping that the S3 is the exact same form factor as the S1. With interchangeable blades even.

Yes. But S3 additionally having a housing for better cooling, An additional Fan, A modified Heat Sink, Frame also have some changes but all are compatible with S1.
