S2 shipping delayed again. Site now says 28th... We need something Bitmain. The ROI is to high without a coupon on the S2.

Bitmain is doing it the right way. They are not taking payments before they can deliver. If there's a delay, I want it to be before I send payment, not after!

Excited to see the price for some S3's!

Do'nt expect an S3 announcement before the last batch of S2 are sold out.

The rush to order will probably crash their website.

Late Saturday or mid-day Sunday is my earliest prediction.

That way, they can pick up the pieces of their website on Sunday without delaying any S2 orders and start to process S3 orders from Monday onwards.

EDIT:- Batch One of the S3 will be sold out within seconds of sales opening. Probably before most of us are even aware the sales are open.

DO NOT BUY THESE ASICS!!! I keep telling you people!

Right now, at 13.4 billion difficulty, a 500 Ghash miner will get you 0.01868 BTC per day!  That's it!

And when the difficulty adjusts to 17.1 BILLION in 3 days, it will make 0.01471 BTC per day!

At the current price of $568 per BTC, that is $ 8.35 a day, before power costs and before purchase price.

ROI - NEVER!!!!! Shocked

Send your money to ME if you are so determined to piss it away on something!!!!!  Cool

At least I will invest and spend your money wisely, instead of letting it go to some ASIC company owner laying on the beach and laughing at all the people who bought an already obsolete miner.

We don't need your logic to dictate here, we're busy trying to throw our money at these money pits, I mean miners.   Cool

But we can make up the difference by buying more right?

Wondering if a 1000 Watt PSU will be enough for 2 S3 ... (Overlocked)

On the higher side: As per my calculation maximum power consumption is 550W.
If overclocking is possible with low percentage of hardware error to such an extend then 1000Watts PSU is just not enough to handle 2 S3.
But in practical case, I mean a fair overclocking, a good 80 plus PSU can easily handle 2 S3s.
If that 1000W psu is not yet brought consider buying 1200W PSU.
PSUs are not worthless at the end, it will follow you for many year unlike ASICs miners.

S2 shipping delayed again. Site now says 28th... We need something Bitmain. The ROI is too high without a coupon on the S2.

I ordered a ton of S2s over the last week and they all shipped this morning, as advertised. They used to say "shipping within 48 hours", but now list the shipping date as two days out - which is the same thing.

Wild prediction: Tomorrow it will say the 29th. The point is, S2s ordered when it says shipping on the <insert date here> actually go out on that date. They aren't being delayed.

Edit - Oops, the 29th is Sunday, so the 30th  Wink

I'm just wondering if we will be able to push them that much since it's the max. If we take the S1 in consideration, i'm running mine at around 420 watt and two of them on a Corsair RM 1000. I wanted to get one for my S3.

Is EVGA any good ? I can get a 1300Watt (80 plus gold) if i add 20$.

Thanks Wink

Powering S3:

I have a question re Corsair CX500M

CX500M has a split PCIE connector-this covers 2/4 power slots on S3
CX500M also has a ATX 8-pin cord on which it is written: CPU. Can this power 2 remaining PCIe slots on S3 using a 8pin (F) to PCIE(f) split adapter?
CX500M also has a strange concoction of 4 molex connectors daisy chained to each other and to an unusual 6-pin connector with 2 empty slots that says Type 3 on the side-is this one usable instead of the 8pin/CPU connector?

Thanks-trying to see if I can use this power supply.
