Someone has been hitting the bitmark network with a fairly strong hashrate.
Coinwarz reported it yesterday as 6.45 GH/s, I calculated it for blocks issued on 10/31/2015 as of 22:14 UTC, (143 blocks) as 6.56 GH/s, and today, 11/1/2015 between blocks 49860 and 49880, at a very healthy 21.27 GH/s, which actually resulted in the chain running fast, (about 16% faster than the nominal 120 second block time), until about 5AM UTC.
Between block 49880 and the last one 49881 (which just was validated or "mined" at 9AM UTC), there was a long interblock time of 3hours 45minutes; which would point to some multipool or large private farm leaving the nework (Averaging just the last 5 blocks indicates 152 MH/s on the chain. ) So yes, bitmark is still suffering from the mutlipool / crazy hash rate swings issue, but .... We're working on choosing and implementing a KGW - DGW style algo to fix this (chain either too slow or too fast) and also to regulate the subsidy block reward. My timeframe is to have it done and tested by the end of the year and and announce a mandatory hard fork for some time soon after the new year.
Please chime in if you have ideas and/or concerns regarding either the difficulty regulating algo or the block reward (subsidy) algo, or anything else about bitmark.
Once the coin mechanics are taken care of, we will focus on the more exciting part of this coin's future, marking.
It seem to me there's quite a bit of life and interest in the coin yet.

Yep....that is an improvement. Just fired up my Bitmark wallet, and it flew in comparison to a month ago. I liked Bitmark from the beginning, very sad to see how things turned out. Hows coinsolidation ? He still involved with BTM ?

My take is that there were complaints filed, and the person(s) who initiated the complaint(s) cannot say anything further until authorities (in the UK I believe) complete their investigation and take further action.

"There should be some tangible developments for the community around the week of May 1st."
Any updates on what that might be, or do we just need to wait?
From what I know all we have left now is to wait :p But not too long the first deliverable is well under way and I'm free all week with it being my primary focus. so, this was the last post from the Bitmark scoundrel .. i actually defended this scum once

The idea was brilliant. The dev was a #+*?%&$. Scammed so many people (and not only the fucking daytraders, more the people believed in the idea) with money and time. It´s a shame, Nathan!

Fortunately, we are in the open-source space. The project-bitmark group at Slack has not given up on the project, and although the loss of the original dev, coinsolidation, is a setback, it's not the end of the project, far from it.

It's time to fix Bitmark and then maybe we can give it a new life.
Proof of Stake is the first step.

Might need the Chinese to revive this one.

That's good to hear! I'm still hodling my bag ... Is coinsolidation definitely gone for good?

That's good to hear! I'm still hodling my bag ... Is coinsolidation definitely gone for good? Yes. Gone and he's not part of the coin anymore. The coin is open source and new devs and community are working on it. Considering what is going on with the popularity of Poloniex I would think Bitmark might have a bright future this year. Would be interesting to see some added functionality for BTM at Polo. Maybe that is something we could discuss with them once the coin algo is changed to something more stable. There is a lot that can be done with Bitmark. The possibilities are limited only by our imaginations.

It has functionality there, and with the rise of polo volume from ETH it can get some more attention. I'm going to brainstorm about other possibilities

We would like to officially announce a new project in development for Bitmark (BTM - a blockchain that allows website users to send reputation points to other users). As a broad team of new developers, we see the enduring potential of BTM once implemented within features that a website or service provides (e.g., Reputation 'marks' prevail such at Poloniex regardless of trading volume). This unique aspect of Bitmark seems to lend security to itself once implemented within a community. Therefore we have decided to adopt the project and develop improvements, essential services and ultimately begin working to assist other reputable community-based websites in order to implement an economic reputation feature.
We look forward to a successful venture together and will be launching the official thread shortly outlining projects and improvements which are due moving forward.
With 2015 being called a record breaking year for social media sites, we see a strong opportunity to enhance an Internet in which community-based websites are so rapidly emerging. The future of the web truly will seem to be social in nature. We encourage you to watch as we take this vision forward and move Bitmark into the spotlight its timing so truly deserves.
