I have been out of Bitmark a long time now.
Who has taken over development?
And what is the status of development?
Could someone give an old BTM supporter a recap?

OK, but brief answer with some pointers.

You could start your recap on page 118 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=660544.2340

After that you can recap on slack, see the pinned messages.  If you want to see more, github & gitbook.

Melvin is lead dev & has done loads.

I look forward to hearing what you find out.  I am continuing my investigation  Smiley.  I'm not ready to reveal all my findings yet, but maybe this will help get you started  Wink

Bitmark is the coin used for awarding marks to people on poloniex

In the Polo trollbox, you use the code:
/mark username 1

Bitmark is supposed to be a Sia / SJCX alternative.

A decentralized web identity system is also planned for it.

The lead dev is https://melvincarvalho.com/#me
Another dev is dbkeys

Thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=660544.0
Site http://www.bitmark.io/#

Current marketcap: $310,509

There is one selfish miner currently who is orphaning everyone else's blocks, so accumulating cheap. In the future, we might see a pump and dump. It may be a scam, or not. I'm not sure yet. What do you think?

Apparently, it has taken over 6 months (or an year) for the dev to do the mining algo fix. It hasn't happened yet. Do you believe they can make a coin like Sia with a decentralized web identity system but can't fix the mining algo?

Considering its a coin used on Poloniex trollbox, I'm surprised to see this mining issue on it last for so long.

So, Scam or Not Scam?

There are levels to this thing... but I think the answer is down there somewhere.

Fair enough.  Do you know why deposits/withdrawals have been disabled on Poloniex?  Is that a global problem or specific to Polo? I believe it has been disabled for quite some time.

Polo gave no reason.  Maintenance issue they said.  4 coins disabled currently I think.

Polo can drop the ball but the dev is on track for may release:

Early investor here from a couple years back- just so you guys know Sean has been super busy doing talks and talking to afk investors so the current price is not really the focus. This alt has more dev than I can say for a number of coins rn and this will only continue as the project progresses. But if you want to talk about price the funny thing is Storj is at a 10 mill market cap but their "alpha" release isn't anything close to dropbox and is about as ready as Bitmark is for functionality is right now. To see a working demo of what's ahead feel free to check out the 56 min mark of this latest Bitmark lecture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ad-DRMYeUn8
